  • cool and cool martial arts to music at derekd2112 too

  • You can do it with out a uniform. you just have to get more inside on the choke

  • Just to be clear... Jiu-Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are different forms of Jiu-Jitsu correct?

  • My instructor likes to call this one...The Megaton =D

  • I've also trained this one but with judo

  • @GuidoNijhof1

was going to say the same thing

  • @tipsy700

    yeah :)

  • Is it the same thing as a bow and arrow choke?

  • @TheCrazyreid nope

  • From personal experience i can tell you, this works beautifully in randori

  • this is what i just did to win my last match modified tho

  • isso parece com "Herede". Gracie Barra. It seem like "herede", Gracie Barra.

  • Im only 10 and I just started jiu jitsu like a month ago and how do you know if the move is illegal

  • @profanity3

Read the rules for your country, in my country (sweden) some collar chokes are illegal in teen and kids classes

  • great choke...can't wait to pull it off in practice. Or maybe at the NYC open tomorrow! Thanks guys for another great vid.

  • how does this guy feel boutbeing choked

  • can it be done to a tee shirt like in a self defense situation? thank you

  • if he wasn't wearing a gi, then couldn't you just lock your leg over his throat and do what would look like a reverse triangle? Just throw the leg over his throat and lock your ankle under your knee.

  • yeah, youd pull his left arm up, like you're going for a sort of armbar, then cross your leg over his neck, reverse triangle.

  • How long is someone unconscious for after a choke hold?

  • @JacksterLark It should never be more than 30 seconds. If it is that means blood is being restricted from his brain....thats not good.

  • I call this the jesse choke, because one of my training partner, jesse, uses this a lot.

  • this work better if you bring your leg nearest to the head actally over it. When you pull with your legs it comes on that little bit quicker and hurts that little bit more :) always better dont you think? :D

  • BRAZILIAN JIUJITSU VERY BEST

  • if this choke fails you can always fall back into an armbar or before that you can try a rear naked if that fails fall into the arm bar. haha and i dont even do jujitsu, i used to wrestle

  • why is this called the suicide choke?

  • @nd316 cuz is suicide to fight one of this guys without training

  • @abraniel100 ...so that means that EVERY choke is a suicide choke? Why is THIS choke called the suicide choke? That is my question.

  • @nd316 is called suicide choke because he choke you with your own close i guess

  • Brazilian jiu-jitsu is best system ever.

  • This is one of the shittiest chokes to do if you get your hand in their collar like that.

  • it also looks pretty easy to lock up an armbar or pentagram from the ending position. nice sub.

  • isnt is brazilian jiu jitsu??

  • Why is it called suicide?

  • Hey can you guys make a series or at least a couple vids on how to do moves from the knees. In my class on Krav Maga we wrestle and start in a hand on shoulder and bicep( i think it is called the cowboy start or something ) and i always get choked out in the begginning and need to learn better moves and stuff. But i dont let anyone near my back.

  • nice but i think rolling to a bow and arrow would be a tighter choke

  • Hmmm, it's "suicide" and it's japanese... this should be called KAMIKAZE!!!!

  • mortal combat at beginning :L

  • how do you counter this choke submission101?

I get stuck in this often :)

  • You can do this in bjj too right?

  • @fedexido

    lol

  • anybody ever used this in a sparring match and did it work? idk im just asking cuz i wanna try it

  • what if he does'nt wear uniform?

  • @MrApatchi then you cannot do this choke. It depends on a collar.

  • @Submissions101 I think you can still do the choke with a tee it will just be a little bit harder. You can even do cross chokes such as a hangman with tee's as well it is just a little bit harder.

  • @Submissions101 I think you can still do the choke with a tee it will just be a little bit harder. You can even do cross chokes such as a hangman with tee's as well it is just a little bit harder. And i mean if this was like in street or something, not tournament.

  • @Submissions101 unless you sink your fingers on the oponent back muscle what is pretty much not a choice...

  • @Submissions101 or hope its a cold day and they wear a jacket! my favorite time of year hahaha

  • @MrApatchi

he says in the video it's a gi choke

  • @MrApatchi You could take your right arm and put it underneath your opponents right armpit and grab your own wrist, then step over his back and roll to the side (on your back). Then you can secure your opponent with your legs and choke him.

  • @MrApatchi if hes not wearing the gi you could just grab his throat :)

  • @MrApatchi das ist der beweis dafür, dass alle diese kampfkünste so lächerlich und unbrauchbar sind..

    UFC!!!

  • @MrApatchi then it's pointless, most jiujitsu and judo (japanese martial arts) is based on grabbing the gi. in maybe a street fight against someone wearing a shit it may work but other than that it doesn't work.

  • @MrApatchi you could do it if the guy had a hoodie of coat on, even a sweater

  • @MrApatchi This is meant for the sport of Jiu Jitsu, not street fighting. In a Jiu Jitsu tournament you're opponent will be wearing a Gi.

  • @MrApatchi if he is wearing a hooded sweater it can work, kind of random but you never know

  • @MrApatchi if its no-gi and you find yourself in this position, going for a peruvian necktie would be a similar choke you could do. Look it up

  • @MrApatchi its called a gi, and if its nogi then you cant do it

  • @MrApatchi Usually in a fight they have to have a shirt on don't they lol

  • theres how many types of jiu jitsu

  • @danii0517 hundreds and hundreds of styles.

  • @Submissions101 would this work say if I grabbed the collar of a hoody or the collar of a BDU?

  • @Submissions101 really? i only thought their was 10th planet and brazilian

  • @Submissions101 isnt japanese jiu jitsu gone like 100 years ago because of fuedal japan

  • @Submissions101 .. i thought some ones ju jitsu was like their own personal fingerprint so there are as many styles as practitioners... ps great vids

  • dude ur awesome i wish i had someone to practice these submissions but i dont so if i get in i fight i dont know if im doing it right

  • For the street, You don't need to hold on to a shirt or anything. I have done this move after he tried to do a double leg takedown by sprawling while grabbing and

slamming/pushing his head down with all the power I had in my arms and momentum.

I pushed myself to his left side quickly, put my left arm under his neck and squeezed while I put my right arm over his neck and grabbed my left hand, jumped over his back while throwing him on top of me and held him in a rear choke

    Great move ty sub101

  • this is called a Peruvian Necktie in Bjj except you place one of the legs on his back and the other parallel across his neck...applicable in No-gi instead you would use your forearm as the means for cutting his circulation

  • i do shito ryu well more of a renagade form using the bare basics you know 3 hit combos basic blocks and kicks with alittle tweeking (quesion is there more i should really know ?) quesion directed at blackbelts or alittle lower please

  • would this technique be efficient in a no-gi type of bout?

  • @PenutButtahnJelli ummm...no, as it requires a gi.

  • @Submissions101 so it wouldn't work even if your opponent was wearing a tight shirt?

  • @maginator5 it is illegal to grab a shirt or rash guard in that manner in a nogi match. Often, people won't wear shirts so there is nothing to hold on to. In the street, you could grab a shirt or jacket in this manner it may work. However, it is NOT a move you want to do in the real world because it leaves you prone to getting kicked while on your back (other friends or people).

  • @Submissions101 ok, thanks

  • @Submissions101 or maybe a crusty mexican will get your wallet!!!!!

  • the tight shirt would rip

  • wow u guys doing a great job u ppl help so much to understand these moves thanks to guys

    salam

    peax

  • Bro, I think what you do is awesome and it's evident that you know your shit. Your attitude towards criticism is commendable. I wish I had someone like you to train with. I have only been training for a month and love the sport already. I am in the mindset that I want to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible. It costs so much money for 1 on 1 training with my instructors and I am not a friggin bank. Thanks for your posts as they give me a basic idea on how to do a lot of new moves.

  • @FanFkinTastic1 You are very welcome. Train well buddy!

  • this guy sounds like he says joke when he says choke.

  • No estrangulas a nadie con ese movimiento y menos si no tenes control de los hombros en tu uke!

  • Just FYI this guy has a pretty bad rep with a lot of people.

  • @Brotherolaf And some people like us. It is the nature of the internet. If you like what we offer, use it. If not, don't. No expectations or pressure. We have great support from many as well including Keith Owen, Professor Pedro Sauer, Eddie Bravo, Vinny Magalhães, Octavio Couto and countless others. The point is: not everyone likes the the same sports teams, the same is true for anything online.

    Train well and roll on.

  • @Submissions101

All well and good but when almost everyone I ask about your videos tells me they show incorrect technique i feel I should question whats being taught here. I just started training in the past month so of course I myself am in no way able to criticize, but everyone Ive talked to about these videos has been very negative.

Also didnt you tap to joe rogan smothering you?

  • @Brotherolaf You are free to make whatever conclusions you wish my friend. AS for Joe, I don't remember being smothered to death but I do recall an insane north south choke and crank. He is one scary strong dude. Enjoy your journey in jiu jitsu. May it serve you well.

  • @Submissions101 Love your attitude in response to criticism. Even more than your techniques (which I enjoy and study), your calm demeanor shows class and confidence.

  • can I embed some of theses videos in the social networkg vidaluta. com? just to promote.

  • @julianokimura of course!

  • nice

  • in judo its a little diffrent.. there you have the same grip but instead of just falling over you place the foot you would be stepping over your oppent between his legs and arms and then simply just roll

  • Good stuff but im doing No-Gi so not too usefull for me

  • what i have realized from doing jiu jitsu is that 1. biger is not always beter.2 you need to be flexable 3 you blink at the wrong time and its over:)

  • Can this choke be applied without a gi such as in a self defense stand point?

  • @quintonisho1 Yes, search for Peruvian Necktie, it does NOT require a kimono/gi, you're grabbing your own wrist and using the blade of your forearm to cut off blood/air to the attackers/opponents brain. Very effective and very easy to slap on if the attacker/opponent dosen't tuck chin-to-chest.

  • Is this a version of a clock choke?

  • Simple YET Effective.....FUCK YEAH!!!

  • why is it called a suicide choke?

  • @Shadow2271 because u are choking the guy with his own shirt! get it?

  • But what if the other person rolls the opposite way Jackie chan style? =D?

  • this is very nice against big strong opponents! thougt this by myself after sparring with the world heavyweight champion in judo from 2008. nice to know what the trick is called =)

  • is this legal in judo?

  • what style is this

  • Almost like a bow and arrow choke. Do you have a video of that one?

  • great video, very helpful, thanks

  • a pure jutuitsu partition-er will get killed in ufc now since almost everyone has some experience with jujuitsu

  • couldnt you rear nake choke once you ge the arm in

  • was that choke out video u guys made legit. shit was fast

  • @spoose1 yep...no edit whatsoever...that is how long (or short) it can take

  • @Submissions101 look at 3:00 he kill me

  • this is crap just do the step over choke do what he does than u just put your legs over the shouler so it looks like a arm bar than fall back\

  • quite common in judo

  • GREAT MOVE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE

  • Dude - he says its a gi choke in the beginning. Clearly its impossible to do without one....

  • @johnblazebernier you can do it with a normal t shirt collar, but dont choke him with the collar, switch to a rear naked choke instead. because you wont be seeing a random guy about to attack you with a gi on the streets anyway.

  • @archdeath99 Great Tip, However Obviously This Is For A Gi Submission. The Rear Naked Choke Is The Japanese Naked Choke. Alot Of BJJ Schools Refer To It As Rear Naked Choke, I dont seem to know why they do that, Japanese naked choke is the right term. -Kind Regards- ChavaMMA

  • @chavamma It's just a name. In brazil we call it the "mata leao", literalitty lion killer, because it's supposed that hercules used it to kill lion.

  • @Tezcax Very True, however if It's "just a name" then Jiu Jitsu Is not really Brazilian, It's Japanese... Since Esai Maeda Is the one who tought Carlos Gracie (Ne Waza)ground techniques of Judo. In quite honesty that's all BJJ is, when I trained @ the Academy in Miami Everyone thought of me as a rookie. I'm a Shodan In Combat Judo, I tested for my dan in JJ and did outstanding. -Kind Regards- ChavaMMA

  • @chavamma Yeah, in fact bjj is just judo. Gracie jiu jitsu is bullshit, they didn't invent nothing, they just popularized it in brazil. All that about helio gracie using more leverage is a lie, kano was also a very small guy and judo worked great for him.

  • @Tezcax Agreed, Like I Said JJ is the Ne Waza(Ground Technique) Part Of Judo Which Explains why alot of guys that do BJJ Are lost in stand up. Great Post. -Kind Regards- ChavaMMA

  • @chavamma Yeah, I personally train both, bjj alone is good at competitions where you can pull guard, but in mma or a self defense situation you need to know some wrestling or judo(the standing part).

  • @Tezcax My Dan Grade is in Combat Judo Full on empty hand and armed styles of Self Defense. However I also cross train in MMA. My self defense Base helps alot because I go straight for a takedown or attack and then work my combat judo from there most guys fight in patern like 1,2,3,4 and then retreat cage fighting is simply exchanging technique with your opponent. Great Conversing w/ you. -Kind Regards- ChavaMMA

  • @chavamma japanese jujutsu and bjj are completely different but very similiar. helio gracie watched his brothers compete in japanese jujutsu but it required alot of size and strength to pull off alot of the technique. plus it really wasnt relevant to street defense. so helio created bjj for the small guys using leverage, and technique he was able to beat many well known japanese jujutsu fighters. plus bjj is alot better for use in the streets if u ever need to defend urself.

  • @chavamma long story short they are much different and but the same concept. just one is more for technique and another requires technique as well as alot of size and athleticism. the reason bjj is so popular is everyone can do it.

  • how can i use this in mma

because i dont have a collar to grap

any tips to do it without a collar ?

  • @dutchfreaker try experimenting with the shoulder if you have a partner to practice with, try to make it work it probably can. its a very unorthodox move in my opinion though.

  • i like these videos...theyre nice and short nd perfect....

  • could you most likely do this in a BJJ tournament?

  • so if i understand this correctly you are pulling on his gi? so this would not translate to a mma fight correct?

  • @rclsu13 correct this is a choke for GI not in the MMA in the older MMA you could though but not anymore

  • "Bruce Lee wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes in a street fight." "Bruce Lee sucked he wouldn't last a minute on the streets" You're exact words. And i'm not saying "what i want" i'm merely informing you that you were incorrect and that to post an uneducated opinion sets you up to look like a fool... And no, i'm not a kid you ignorant, uneducated dickhead.

  • Hey, cock kid? That's your opinion. And comments without facts is meaningless, like your bitch-ass.

  • hahaha oh my god this dickhead is just a broken record isn't he! i thought i told you i wasn't a kid, or maybe you can't read which is why you'd rather insult every single person that corrects your ignorant opinion rather than simply find the facts. You're a joke mate. Just shut your ignorant fucking mouth before you make yourself look any more stupid you piece of shit.

  • Hey, kid? Where's your English book? Correct? You got to be kidding me! What have you correct?

  • @Jerrime2009 yo puussssy boi go tlk ur shyt somewhere else!!!!!!!!

  • This kid (MsPirate93) is having a very difficulty time grasping that his comments are meaningless, becuase they don't support facts.

  • trolling douche im sure many more people respect you then respect lee

as an actor or a martial artists you come up way short so why dont you show some respect and stop talking ill of the dead

you call everyone a kid stop acting like one...

  • Hey, kid? I have a feeling that you are a troll.

  • nice i know u are but what am i .... real mature kido

  • @Jerrime2009 Hey, kid. If i ever see you ill break your fuckiing neck. Keep that in mind. =)

  • @Jerrime2009

Jesus christ, you again? Find something better to do with your time then go on martial arts videos and pick fights. Jesus.

It's because 15 year old, scrawny, virgins like you that suicide exists :(.

  • on the last part, u shuda done it really fast then do it slow motion.

or r u suppose to use ur hand? o_O

im not sure but w.e xD

  • @jerrime2009, Bruce lee indeed was actually a Jeet kun do, and chinese boxing expert. he obviously choreographed it for the movies but he definatley was a very good martial artist.

  • Once again naive kid? The things that Bruce Lee did only work in his movies and not in reality.

  • why dont you do ur research and look it up you are the one that is naive. some of his stuff wouldnt actually work but most of it does..

  • @biggaschwebbz1990 Your right he was the best at pretending to hit people.

  • Hey, naive kid? What Bruce Lee did was only for the movies and not real life.

  • first off it didnt start out just for movies he did that ever since he could walk your just retarted and you dont know what your talkin about i know more about bruce lee than you do just because he didnt really fight in his movies doesnt mean he cant in enter the dragon one of the other actors thought that too and challenged him and bruce lee beat him up he didnt go full force on him or he would be dead he has his own fighting style that he created that mostly everybody uses now if they do mma

  • Hey, naive kid? Bruce Lee wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes in a streetfight. I hope you aren't that naive enough to actually think that Bruce Lee could've actually done those things to his assailants in reality like he did to those assailants in his movies?

  • Loud noises!

  • i have has used the suicide choke a couple times its very effective

  • defeating a larger opponent depends on both agility and technique whether standing or grappling. You can defeat an opponent in both scenarios. Larger opponents usually get caught on the ground because they assuem their strength will overpower their opponent, but if you fight with principles such as Bruce Lee it is just as easy

  • As far as how effective Jiu-Jitsu is for a smaller practitioner. It is the best style for small people. I remember a Jiu-Jitsu tournament Me and a few people from my school were in. My best friend at the time was 135 lbs. He submitted a 280 lb. opponent. No shit. Of course you can't expect to beat a more powerful opponent strength on strength. You must use technique and agility. Size doesn't determine the outcome, its about how you use your size as an advantage.

  • to a point you are completely right. this is one of the aspects that royce gracie showed to us with his mma career. he even submitted a 400lbs sumo wrestler. however i do not find this an ideal martia art for smaller people anything that inclines you to take an opponent to the groundwhen you are smaller is dangerous you risk a possibility of being overpowered from this position. a standing striking art that youcan keep adistance is probably more ideal for a small person.karate and tkd are good

  • @liverpoolcCU If you're a smaller person, it is more dangerous to be standing up with someone who has a great deal of reach and power on you. On the ground, technique has been proven to neutralize unskilled, more powerful opponents. Short limbs are also beneficial for submission defense.

  • the points you used for your argument are correct, but there 2 aspects you didn't think about. weight and strength can be huge aspects in grappling no matter the level of technique. in a standing fight, you can use technique and experience to avoid strikes and deliver your own strikes despite size. on the ground you might end up with a bigger man on top of you. good example is mir vs lesnar2. mir is better technical grappler, but lesnar's size and strength canceled it out.

  • @liverpoolcCU While it is true that one can use technique and experience to overcome a bigger opponent in the standup, it much more difficult due to the taller/larger man's natural advantages in the standup. Reach and height really do matter in the standup more than they matter on the ground. In fact, long limbs actually make one easier to submit. The only problem with your Mir/Lesnar example is that Lesnar has (some) skill. This is all under the assumption that only the smaller man has skill

  • i told you that you were correct about the reach advantage in my last post. using your last statement "this is all under the assumption that only the smaller man has skill," i can tell you that it would be much easier to counter standing up, because the bigger person would telegraph everything they do. in grappling the skill would have a good chance too, but for example if the small is 5'6'' 130 and big 6'6'' 270 this would make ground game dangerous. there's a reason for weight classes

  • @liverpoolcCU It's true that they'd most likely telegraph their strikes, but it is very hard to knock someone out who is much larger and taller than you. It is much more practical for a small man to use joint locks and leverage, where there is less power required. It is much easier to get a 6'8" 290lb guy in a kimura than it is to knock him out. Additionally, huge guys enjoy taking smaller people down. It helps to have ground skills.

  • @liverpoolcCU But if you're smaller they have reach and striking power on you. Honestly you can do any martial art with any size you just have to adjust it for YOU. And strength isn't important on the ground. You'll just get tired if you use just strength.

  • Mate, im really short, without a big build, and im pretty good at BJJ and japanese jujitsu, its quality :)

  • guys im wondering i want to start Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but im not sure cuz im short and i also dont have a big bild so do you guys think i should go for something else?

  • I am 5'3" and 139 lbs and consistently tap my training partners some of which are a foot taller and/or 100 lbs heavier.....also Helio Gracie was known for being very small but very vicious!!!!

  • if you are going to have that attitude why even try any combat sport? COME ON, HAVE YOU NOT SEEN RUDY? JK dude...

  • the whole idea of BJJ is that you don't have to be bigger or stronger, thats why Rorion Gracie chose his smallest son Royce to represent their art in the first UFC comp.

  • Yeah I know he should've hooked the leg, I bet now he does after getting knocked out. Live and learn lol...

Oh yeah the ones that attack you for no reason are the ones with weapons, get back up, or have no respect... Punks yeah?

Love that last quote btw... Words to live by. peace...

  • LOL In hawaii If someone calls you out (Goads you into fighting) we take off our shirt before we even get close to him. That means Lets scrap, one on one... Instead of getting in their face and acting bad, we rather fight than talk. Most times when its over we shake hands for respect. Hawaii is different than the mainland.

Ricardo Arona got slammed the fuck out and he is a badass BJJ fighter... Would you really wanna take that risk in a street fight?

  • lol thats cool

  • its not the place you live its the person you are.. i know lots of mainlanders who fight and others who talk about fighting to sound tough.. there is plently of ju jitsu to use with out having a shirt on.. gi chokes and collar chokes are just a very very small part.. but yet you stereotype ppl and bjj... not cool

  • Whoa whoa... How did I stereotype people that use the gi? or without for that matter? Personally I like No-gi grappling but still think highly of the gi... I was just explaining to willparadigm why I think BJJ is dangerous on the street.and why us hawaiians take off our shirt when we fight. If I sounded like I was talking out of my ass, that was unintentional. Peace...

  • Street fights? In hawaii we take off our shirts to avoid getting grabbed like this... In any case street fighting is not a good idea, learn martial arts instead and learn to walk away...

  • In Hawaii you would get Gogoplata'd.

    lmfao

  • LOL, if you were to do that on the street can you imagine what your back would feel like on the gravel? And then if you get slammed? I would hate to be the guy on the bottom in a street fight... I rather do this in the gym...

  • @D26808 yeah but lets say the bjj guy is a really good judoka as well, or a wrestler. you don't NEED a gi to do all judo and bjj throws. you dont need a gi to do double underhooks, single or double legs, or any other clinch takedown. you can substitute a gi by using someones head for certain judo throws. a judo throw can generate 4,000 lbs when thrown on concrete. that will end the fight itself

  • True that, Greco roman is really good too... The odds of fighting someone with that kind of knowledge on the street is really low. Most fighters have discipline and wouldn't fight outside of the cage... Most lol... I seen a lot fights where all the guys do is grab the shirts and dirty box... For sure if a Judoka guy were to throw someone on the street he would be knocked out or worse lol... That is a lot of force...

  • i know, that type of jujitsu is crap the UK's version that i do is streetfighting there r lots of diffrent type of jujitsu. not just the type u see on UFC
