  • @angelmesa,

What do you know about martial art spirit in taichi exercise? It is an exercise. Do NOT get side-tracked with your thinking about martial arts defense! Plz get rid of that arsenic thought from your mind, and just enjoy Master Chen performed his combined 32 form. He won so many Gold medals in the past. The so-called real taichiquan is NOT meant to be beautiful to look at. Too many vid watchers read too many silly books about taichiquan. Those books are theory only. Practice!!!

  • @thomasie64 I wouldn't consider thinking about a martial art as a *martial* art as being "side-tracked" nor is it "arsenic". Preventing someone from punching your teeth out or breaking your nose is another way of staying healthy in my opinion. I suspect that the people that created this felt the same way, which is why it isn't simply qigong.

  • Master Chen, SiTan is one of the best in Tai Ji. Especially, his DVD/videos made in recent years are even better. Yes, Tai Ji 32 is a combined version since it includes some techniques from other styles, but mainly it's yang style.

  • Couldn't find a better performer than him.... Let me know if anyone find one.

  • Fantastic form great master, now I know what it should look like(not that it will come close to this) and I will train to get better

  • Nice, although I disapprove with the background, the moves are performed calmly and with serious precision. Good man!

this form is the one we're learning at the moment. I like this one rather than the 88 yang form.

  • I fully agree with you. I have been watching all 32 steps competition routines on youtube and this one is, by far, the best.

  • according to my Sifu, it contains ~ 20% Sun style moves and ~ 80% Yang.

  • It also contains some Chen style (2 fists with right foot kick), the acceleration is typical from chen style. There is also a Ba Gua stance after the "white crane spans its wings" towards the end of the tao lu. This is like the 42 steps routine it contains movements from all major styles.

  • This Taolu contains movements of 5 Tajiquan Schools: Yang, Chen, Wu, Hao and Sun, but the feeling is from Yang family. From my point of view the techniques are correct, but there is not martial spirit.

  • It's probably the background. This guy is pretty good at it.

  • Hi! anglemesa, do you know from 2'42" till 3' ,the forms are belong to which one(式)。and 4'10"till4'25" (下势 downwanrd movement) belong to who's(式)? You have to forgive my English level, and my knowledghe about TaiJiQuan. But I'm really curious about some of the movement.

  • Hi woochizen, the movements from 2'42" till 3' belongs to Yang Family (Lu, Ji) the are not pure traditional, it's a modern version. The movements from 4'10"till 4'25" belongs to Wu Family (Hao Family). The couch stance (Pu bu) is from modern Hao Family, you can't find it in the traditional version.

  • Thank you! angelmesa, the 'lv,ji shi' is the one really bother me. the 'lv' part I'm easy mix up with Sun style's 'lan zha yi' the beginin half part. I did notice this 'lv ji shi' in Yang 48-form. And thanks for the infor.about 'pu bu', this is the first time I notice the Wu style. You mean 延承武派的郝家派吗?

  • Wu family Taijiquan was created by Wu Yuxiang (武禹襄), but it is also known as Hao Family. Wu yuxiang taught his nephew Hao Weichen (郝為真), so that is known Hao family Taijiquan too. Hao Weichen Taught Sun Lutang who created his own style Sun Taijiquan.

If you are interested in simplified Taolu you can learn Wu simplified 46 movements where you can find the movements you asked for 32 movement.

  • @angelmesa - It seem like everyone is out to make it their own, using their name. Very sad and disappointed with these type of people. What did they changed that is so significant to call it their own ???

  • I notice you are chinese, I think. There is a very good book in chinese with the Taolu of the 5 most important Taijiquan School.

  • uno de los mejores qeu he visto hasta ahora.

  • De los mejores videos de taijiquan simplificado!Chen Sitan es excelente!

  • awesome!! you can really apreciate the movements.

  • Excellent !!!
