Take away the Amen Break from DnB, and I can't tell the different between the three. In the US, Grime, DnB and Dubstep would not have been given separate genre distinctions. There's nothing wrong with how you do it. You just have a lot of names for same sounding music.

Now, does the band Washed Out sound like The Times New Vikings. No, but they get thrown under the same label that nobody can agree on exactly because everybody knows what they are talking about when they do that. Being free from labels is liberating.

Dubstep and Grime are sister genres that evolved from UK Garage - so the two are similar, but different enough to warrant being distinct genres. Dubstep doesnt have MCing liek Grimed does for a start. Drum & Bass however sounds completely different to Grime and Dubstep - even in the US D&B would have been labelled as a separate genre to Dubstep & Grime.

i think what they mean is dont go so hard on the compressor's on that bass, i would say go back into your session and lighten up the compressor and i can hear the side chaining, and i think thats where your problem is i would say go and tweak that main output on that kick... thats just me tho , the song is bangin tho..
