great work together. bass player needs to work on technique and intonation. Using the ring finger on the left hand is a big no-no. Especially in 1-4 positions.
@MCgoogles1000 Thanks for your criticism, my young friend. There is no "no-no" in Jazz, and I don't care about school-techniques. But of course you're perfectly right about my intonation, it's horrible. I'm working on it ;-)
Keep mixing up all those stiles with your basses, you're good! Greetings from Switzerland, Jogi
way way way out good you'ns, maybe i spoke too soon yesterday saying dexter's was the best version of this song. i know what any soloist needs is a good bass player, come let's make beautifull music toghether, mr. basman, play a tune for me, i ain't sleepy and there's {COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT}!
par ex-ce-lan-te: da boppa, de bop da, de be bop -de bopa didleop bu up up up, de up duh, de dah de bob o -de pa, de de didali diuup di, da bopda didly umbop, dup dup a a bam a di dwut oh mi...
How I love this tune! But it's not all Honeysuckle Rose. The bridge here is A-D-G-C, in Honeysuckle Rose it's F-Bb-G-C. Bird's version of Honeysuckle Rose is "Marmaduke". Anyway, I loved this performance, that sweet guitar sound and obviously the swing feeling. I also played over this recording!
Fantastic playing, many great melodic and harmonic Ideas, good octave solo and block-chords a la Wes, all done with great affinity for Jazz, you guys got something good going there, camaraderie in Jazz is something very worthwhile, greets Vic.(beautiful Jazz guitar sound Pat).
