@aznsweetie2009 well, there is a lot of Tai Lue in Denver, Colorado. We even have a beautiful Wat Lue ( Lue Temple) there. I actually grew up from there but is now residing in Cleveland, Ohio. I think there is one from every state but we just blend in with Laotian.

My parents told me that there were many Tai Lue living in Luang Prabang. My grand mother was a Tai Lue therefore I'm 1/4 Tai-Lue and 3/4 Tai-Lao = 100% Tai.

We are orignately from south west China, Yunnan and Schuan pronvince and the hot and spicy food in Schuan province are babably orignately from the Tai people, but the han Chinese assimilating its into the han culture.

sip sung phan na is as known as lue. lue people live very north of laos which is very close to china. they are in laos but near china. their culture and tyle is a mix of lao and a mix of china. their language has many lao word and understandable to lao people. their accent is very curvy and zig zac kindda sound like china.they do have some own words.

We lost the war and were driven to Southward (Viengchan) that's right what you see about Sipsongpanna whose language, culture and tradition are very much identical to Lao. My close friend who had gone to visit Sipsongpanna last few months ago told me that he did not have any problem to understand the language. It is the same as what I speak every day at home.

I was born & raised up near Bangkok. When I was young I studied our history in Sipsongpanna before we moved Southwards. In Peninsula we found very tense Indian influences. One of our kings didn't want was with them, so he accepted Buddhism & modified our script to be like Pali. We've lived in harmony & love with them ever since. I'm just wondering. Why don't Lao people call themselves 'Tai'? They live among the 'Tai' ethnic groups in Vietnam, China, Burma and Thailand. They speak the language, which is similar to what 'Tai' people speak. They have very similar cultures and so on. All these people call themselves 'Tai' except Lao. Therefore, we called ourselves "Lao" means to be liberated or emancipated.
We lived in Szechuan over 4000 years before we were forced to migrate to NanChao today known as Sipsongpanna because Han Chinese enslaved, suppressed and invaded us. The migration to Sipsongpanna commenced during 6th (600 A.D) to 12th century.

@aznsweetie2009 well, there is a lot of Tai Lue in Denver, Colorado. We even have a beautiful Wat Lue ( Lue Temple) there. I actually grew up from there but is now residing in Cleveland, Ohio. I think there is one from every state but we just blend in with Laotian.

shawkarn, do you know what you're talking about? Do you know the truth about Laotians and Thais,and who's been the bad one? I know where we came from and who Lue people are.The word "Thai" was first used when our king or leader came to this area known as Sibsongphanalue.The word"thai"then meant people.We were all Laotians.That included many tribes who came together to be strong and survive together.We're fighting against bigger chinese tribes to stay alive.Thailand didn't exist until later.

My parents told me that there were many Tai Lue living in Luang Prabang. My grand mother was a Tai Lue therefore I'm 1/4 Tai-Lue and 3/4 Tai-Lao = 100% Tai.

Lao always belong to the tai ethenic group people.
We call the thai people are tai pak kong and they call us the same way. And this lady who singing this song is know as tai lue.
We are orignately from south west China, Yunnan and Schuan pronvince and the hot and spicy food in Schuan province are babably orignately from the Tai people, but the han Chinese assimilating its into the han culture.

Another minority resides in Pathet Laos. Being Mienh capable of speaking lao, thai and other languages enable me to undersatnd a lot about Sipsongpana. Thanks for sharing the informations about other people culture, custom, languages, etc.

When seeing the video, I was nearly crying. I have heard about Sibsongpanna for long long time, but never known where they are and how they live. It's just like I have found a long-lost relative. She says clearly that she is Tai and speaks Tai. It is our language. After watching other video related to Sibsongpanna, I have just noticed that their language is similar to both Thai and Lao as shown below:

Historically, Lao and Thai's ancestors were from Sipsonpanna, sons and daughters of Khoun Borom that we were driven by war to southward regions whose both familial languages are descended from Tai languages spoken in what is now southern China. Due to the introduction of Buddhism in Lao and Thailand, Pali, Sanskrit and Old Khmer terms and vocabularies have contributed to both languages, particularly pertinent to religion and conversation. Therefore, both languages are mutually intelligible.

i dont know much but i will assume.
sip sung phan na is as known as lue. lue people live very north of laos which is very close to china. they are in laos but near china. their culture and tyle is a mix of lao and a mix of china. their language has many lao word and understandable to lao people. their accent is very curvy and zig zac kindda sound like china.they do have some own words.
some poeple dont know what is lue.

If you had told them that you're Tai they would probably understood you. Tai Lao, Tai Lue, Tai Dam, Tai Deng, Tai Long, Tai Lon, Tai Nong, Tai Phaki & Thai Etc..Are all Tai races and most of people now a day are aware of that.

@noyychan Don't let their lack of information disappoint you.Most of the younger people don't know the history.Maybe you can kinda tell them-if they want to know.The way I see it,if you speak and understand "Lao",you are Laotian.I am of Pu-thai tribes decendent,and I'm proud to be Laotian.Laos consist of sixty eight different tribes. Khon Lue is one of Laotian tribes.

yes for your expressed interest to know more about Sipsongpanna people. Historically, the Sipsongpanna was the Lao territory before. We lost the war and were driven to Southward (Viengchan) that's right what you see about Sipsongpanna whose language, culture and tradition are very much identical to Lao. My close friend who had gone to visit Sipsongpanna last few months ago told me that he did not have any problem to understand the language. It is the same as what I speak every day at home.

Our "Tai" people could have and would have been a very large country with beautiful culture and traditions if not for China's invasion and the internal conflicts that separated our people apart. We "Tai" people are still fighting each other. Simply look at Thailand and Laos. They are cousins and still fighting to this day!! We they ever learn?

I was born & raised up near Bangkok. When I was young I studied our history in Sipsongpanna before we moved Southwards. In Peninsula we found very tense Indian influences. One of our kings didn't want was with them, so he accepted Buddhism & modified our script to be like Pali. We've lived in harmony & love with them ever since. Now I surprisingly hear our original language 30% I understand. I've never heard for millennium! I'm reincarnated without being dead! Amazing Music. Thanks, JaoStudio1.

I visited Sipsongpanna eight years ago. It was very nice to stay with Tai people there. My friend, Robert composed a song called " Ban klang Na" which he composed according to the village name. We really impressed with their warm welcome. I will visit Jing hung and other places again when I get back. Thank

We are speaking a similar language enough to understand each other and have a very close similar culture that made our different from Chinese and Indian. Plus, we are look a like that we don't look like indian or chinese. However, our countries are making us different but we are the same people. Our countries made our different because we have always fighting each other. Imagine if we are join up, what would happen?

How do you know that Nanchao is the Tai kingdom. In Lao history they wrote Nanchao and Khunlor or Khun borom was Lao King. Later all the way came to Luangbrabang and Vientiane. It is common fact that every body know that Lao is exist and it is the blood. Where the hell you claim that they do not say Lao. Go back ask your mama of who she is. If she claim that she is Thai, then you get your head out of this block. How do you know that Tai was not Lao tribe?

I'm just wondering. Why don't Lao people call themselves 'Tai'? They live among the 'Tai' ethnic groups in Vietnam, China, Burma and Thailand. They speak the language, which is similar to what 'Tai' people speak. They have very similar cultures and so on. All these people call themselves 'Tai' except Lao. Do Lao people actually have the same race with us? My guess is that Lao people also belong to the 'Tai'. From what I know the word 'Lao' is from Sanskrit (similar to La-wo), right?

Responding to Inxsiny, the principal reason why Lao people in LAOS PDR and Lao people living in abroad called ourselves "Lao" referenced to an ancient history where we the Lao and Thai people were originally from. We lived in Szechuan Province in 5000 B.C. , which is a central part of China, after we were forced by Mongols. We lived in Mongolia in 6000 B.C. We felt to be emancipated from Mongols' suppression. Therefore, we called ourselves "Lao" means to be liberated or emancipated.

We lived in Szechuan over 4000 years before we were forced to migrate to NanChao today known as Sipsongpanna because Han Chinese enslaved, suppressed and invaded us. The migration to Sipsongpanna commenced during 6th (600 A.D) to 12th century.

During our settlement in Sipsongpanna, we called ourselves Tai. We lived iin approximately 600 years before we were forced to migrate to southwards regions known as today Laos and Thailand because Chinese invaded us. When we reached the southwards regions, people scattered to settle in different parts called themselves: Tai-Lao (including Issan people today), Tai-Siam (Bangkok people today), Tai-Yuang (Shan people in Burman), Tai-Lana (Chiang Mai today), Tai-Dam and Tai-Lue in Sipsongpanna.

Why do you say that are not Lao? Are you claiming that all Lao-Shan-12phanna -12 choutai are all Thai? it bangkok never took it. they just claim it. in the history of Siam they never rule those area and people. But in the history of Lao they did have those territories in they ancient map. instead of Bangkok that they only cliam that they were one live up in the north and their ancester was in the north.
