  • If you want a kid, just adopt. You'll save a life.

Not really less of a woman.

  • I think that I may have some idea of how you may feel. For me when I had to have a hysterectomy done I knew it was final. I knew right then and there that I had to face that I was not ever going to have biological children with my husband and I wanted that so much. My husband wanted children too which I felt I felt I failed him as a wife and woman. We did go on though and we fostered children for 5 yrs in hopes to adopt. We stopped fostering but we are still wanting to adopt.

  • Thank you for your advice, but you do not know how the mindset is for a person going through the situation. I understand that there are many people in the world that are going through things times worse than what I am going through. But the fact of the matter is, something happened to ME, out of the blue. So I find it unfair to tell someone that they cannot feel an emotion of emptiness and loss when that is what happened. It is how I feel at THIS moment in time.

  • Hey Veronica, you don't really know me... persay. However, you should feel fine, and I'm sorry you have to go through all this. As trivial as a thing may seem, as soon as it happens to you it seems to consume your being, however you just need to step back... and gain perspective. You're a beautiful, healthy young woman, who's just going through a rough patch.

  • Yeah, just mentally down. I know that I am ok, but it is draining.

  • instead of RX hormones. She had irreg periods for a few months but was back on track in about 5 months. She became pregnant approx 11 months after her surgery. She said she had a few menopausal symptoms the first month as she healed due to her hormones adjusting according to the holistic nurse she consulted with, once she started herbal supplements she leveled out and symps dissapeared. Her surgery was in 2002 and she is thinking about baby 5!! Positive healing energy coming your way

    Peace Mar

  • Thank you for the advice. I will talk to my doctor again.

  • I know you are feeling down right now but everything will be fine. One ovary will be able to produce the hormones you need, you should not have any menepause symptoms if only one ovary was removed. You are no less of a woman and can have children although it may take a little longer to conceive. My cousin had an ovary removed, she had a quick recovery (7wks) and had her first child the following year(she has 4now) She had low hormone levels after the surgery but opted to take herbal supplements
