  • when i go to my aux track and set the input to plugins (battery) i dont see mono. i only see stereo. what happen? i have set options to 2 stereos and 5 mono.

  • ah. Thank you. I was confused cus when i use Sonar, it automatically creates aux tracks, so the sound would come out. In pro tools, i kept on making audio tracks. I got mixed up with audio and aux tracks. This helped a lot!

  • @blo0magic Switching between DAWs can get tricky. Glad to know the tutorial helped you out. Drop by the site anytime and let us know if there are any other Pro Tools or music production topics you'd like to see covered in future tutorials.

  • @WinkSound Hi. Do you know how to make battery auto create tracks and route them? I've done this in sonar and it would do that to every synth it creates. I wonder if this is sonar exclusive setting. I don't want to create tracks and route it everytime.

  • how do i map the cells to pads on my mpd midi player. ani ideas

    thanks

  • Hi @muchum thanks for your question. We'll send you a link to a tutorial on how to map your controller to trigger samples within Battery 3.

  • @WinkSound thanks a million

  • @muchum Anytime, glad we could help

  • @WinkSound im trying to figure out how u get that 808 down south sound in battery? and how do i map the cells to me roland juno g? ideas please

  • When I change my kick cell from master to mono 17 it makes the cell inaudible. What should I do.

  • is it possible to convert stereo drum sounds to mono in battery, so that i can use them in protools on mono aux tracks? thanx in advance

  • @visual1122 I chose mono because they are mono sound sources. If it had been a stereo sound source or I was routing a bunch of tracks to one aux I would have chosen Stereo. When routing to mono with a mono sound source it allows you to take advantage of doing separate processing on that sound and panning that single sound where ever you want in the stereo field.

I hope that clears things up. Let me know if you have any other questions on music production

    Talk to you soon

  • Thanks for all your Battery tuts. Please could you do a tutorial on the Modulation ? I get confused by the array and am after basic skills. Like how to use sample start or attack time on an envelope for a kick drum with velocity.....and all the rest of the destination/ source choices. Cheers

  • I have the Komplete 5 and it is so easier and faster to make the audio tracks in Acid Pro 7. I cannot lie this process was long for no complete reason.

  • Thanks Justin dude.

  • 1.Where should I install my samples libary after installing Battery?

2.Whould it be best to install samples on a seperate firewire harddrive to perform better or should I install on the same drive my DAW is on?

  • Finally, someone posts what I have been searching for since birth(of using PT+Batt);

    thanks.

  • you can actually listen to the audio track without having to record it if you turn on the INPUT MONITORING... I think its in the Track Menu

  • @CardeyaTV Hello,

Yes you are correct. Thank you for contributing the information to the community.

Hope to hear from you soon,

  • Good tutorial Justin, I was able to follow this quite easily to do the same in Cubase 5. thanks alot :)

  • is there a way to do this in logic?

  • @NGDenZ Hi, thanks for your question. In Logic you can open Battery 3 as a multipout instrument which will allow you to route samples into individual tracks. Once you open the instrument you'll find a small plus sign (+) at the bottom of the instrument channel. If you hit this it will open a new track for the next sample to be routed into. Let me know if this helps.

  • @NGDenZ I have found myself being so intimidated by these processes, that I haven't even attempted it yet. But your response has inspired me to try again. I guess what I have problem with is, is the fact that Battery has its own mix assignment with in the plugin at browser section. Do I use that or do I follow your instructions and use Pro Tools to create this sub mix?

  • @hartistry1957 Hello,

I personally do the routing into pro tools because I like having more options to shape my sound. You can definitly shape your mix within Battery but you are limited to that. I am not saying what Battery has for mixing options is bad or non usable. It is all a matter of how you feel comfortable.

Hope that helps out and let me know what you end up doing.

  • Hello adrian1103,

I have a couple more coming. I did an overview of the lo-fi effect and cell matrix, another on the impulse response reverb, creating your own kits and saving them. When they are up I will send them over. Talk to you soon,
