  • @TheDcervi good question, awesome riff

  • @quaecky Spanish castle magic by Jimi Hendrix

  • @Indy7861PunkGrundge If you want a jack white soung get Big Muff Pi

  • Hey if any one could help me out im in a Black Keys/White Stripes cover band and i need to know if this would be good or a big muff or some thing else would be better. please help!

  • @Indy7861PunkGrundge yo, well Dan uses a green russian Big Muff and i beleive jack used a nyc bigmuff and im not sure what hes using at the moment but a big muff of some sort i beleive. So i agree with big muff.

  • The Bonamassa fuzz has nothing on this baby!

  • I have a RARE 1997 JIMI HENDRIX TRIBUTE STRATOCASTER and its AWESOME with this fuzz! It gives the perfect Jimi tone and i would really recommend this pedal! IM SELLING MY HENDRIX STRAT (unfortunately) AND IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME

  • @angusshep actually i would be interested. how much would you want?

  • i bet this baby sounds fantastic with a les paul

  • Oh shit man, here comes the fuzz!

  • this pedal great ! john squire use this pedal for song - waterfall -

  • I once had one of these sitting on the floor in my closet and my wife tried to return it to Bed Bath & Beyond, mistaking it for a Roomba. She claimed that when she pushed the button, it wouldn't vacuum the floor. The sales clerk was completely dumbfounded.

  • does this have a 9 v adapter???

  • This pedal is a-ma-zing :D

  • I can get a cool retro sound from my EHX Big Muff with tone wicker! ;D They should make the Fuzzface in a nano/ smaller version. I have limited space on my pedalbord!!

  • very cool!! exactry, this pedal is the best

  • I've been wanting to throw germanium transistors in my JH fuzz face

  • its not nice to point

  • CATFISH BLUES BITCHES!

  • Damn, sounds super!

  • i don't think I've seen a single fuzz demo without a hendrix song in it haha

  • Im in love

  • Song name on 2:44?

  • @demba1991

I think it is The Troggs - Wild Thing

  • @demba1991 The troggs- Wild thing

  • @demba1991 Jimi Hendrix's cover of the troggs "wild thing"

  • @demba1991, @Youngtothemax No, it's Like a Rolling Stone by Jimi Hendrix, it sounds like "Wild thing" but isnt it.

  • @JediAh89 i guess its the same chords then...

  • テメー指差すんじゃねぇ!

  • Hey PGS-Team,

my Strat / JMP-Board looks like this:

Dunlop JH-1 Wah-> Dnlp Octavio ->Dnlp JH-F1 -> ZVex Box of Rock -> Electro Harmonix English Muffn-> Marshall Supervibe (yet) -> tc electronics Hall of Fame Reverb.

It sounds great on my old JMP with PPIMV.

when I want to play on loud practicing level trough my JTM45 Ri without PPIMV it sounds thin and like a dead Big Muff. Hope you know what I mean.

I kick the JTM with the Box of Rock. Even sounds good on bedroom level! but w/ fuzz....

  • This distortion unit is also a good one. Its a more basic unit but with a good overall tone with decent bottom end. This unit and the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi are the best sounding ones out there if your looking for that natural tube distortion sound with great sustain. Many of the others are too plasticy Synth sounding.

  • Love how it cleans up, I used to have big muff pi, and it didn't want to clean up so nice with volume knob rolling.

  • do you deliver items in the philippines?

  • is this also the one that gilmour used for meddle and pompeii?

  • I never lost track of where it was because andy never stops pointing at it!

  • Mmmm...love me some spanish castle magic.

  • spanish casle magic (y)

  • What's the last riff he plays??

  • @fiendishfairies the last is "Catfish Blues"

  • @ducah85 and the origional song is rolling stone by muddy waters hendrix just funked it up

  • it would freak me out if i had that thing staring at me all the time

  • thanks for pointing at the pedal i kept loosing track of where it was

  • thanks for pointing at the pedal every 10 seconds i kept loosing track of where it was

  • I love the sound when he plays Wild Thing, great pedal

  • 4:09 \m/

  • sounds pretty good! for a silicon fuzz face

  • I knew a girl called Unity Gain once

  • I bought this pedal a couple of months back and am really really happy with it. I've been able to get the screaming fuzz-tones Dave Gilmour had on Dark Side of the Moon.

  • Thanks for pointing at it so much. I almost lost sight of it.

  • @stevierayDOM18 thats one top comment on another PGS video.

  • why wouldnt you use a Strat? i mean, its the hendrix model..

  • nice riff

  • are fuzzfaces true bypass?

  • @Huntman1394 Watch the video, the answer is in there.

  • If it wasn't expensive I would get it. I like it.

  • @MegaSkoalBandit7195 You could make it your self for much less money! design the box any way you like. Not even joking, check for fuzz face schematics (roger mayer mod). However These dunlop pedals look extremely cool.

  • it sounds great and looks sick!!!!

  • Spanish Castle Magic!!! This is amazing.

  • duuude, I would kill for this pedal :O

This tone hits my soul and it starts to bleed. I think they had to kill 4 unicorns and dry their blood to put on this crazy martian dog look-a-like pedal.

  • @dorillo765 well it's 150 bucks. can't be to hard to obtain

  • holy fuck that sounds sacred

  • what is the riff he plays in the start?

  • @Y4Uable Spanish Castle Magic - Jimi Hendrix))

  • Things haven't gotten much better in 40 years. This thing sounds great.

  • why would you turn the fuzz all the way up and clean it up with the volume? What's the point? Still... great pedal... def gettin this

  • @TeamXTREMEPANTERA If you want a sound somewhere between it being off and dimed, as well as the sound on full blast, without having to kneel down and twiddle the knob. It's a very convenient feature, makes the fuzz 100x more versatile.

  • 1:40

Anyone else prefer it before he turned it on???

  • this + crybaby = eargasm

  • "looks just like a vintage fuzz face, no led and the in and output are changed" that's sooo great! --- not

  • Yeah, back in '69 my Dallas Arbiter FUZZ FACE was so creamy sounding that I couldn't get anywhere near the crunch I'm hearing now.

    This Jimi Hendrix/-Dunlop model smokes!

  • That's a wild thing.

  • I got the red one of these, wish the damn thing had a DC plug.. =/

  • It's all right just would'nt pay that much cash for it, but would do it for the Octavio Fuzz.

  • Hahaha, fuck that's a simple design! Even a TS has more caps, resistors, and diodes

  • These are so stupidly sized. Get the mxr 108 silicone fuzz

  • Say Dunlop again... (dunlup)

  • Sounds really great. I personally think it would be more accurate to call it a Gilmour Fuzz Face (whether or not he would consent to the sponsorship is another matter), as Jimi mostly used germanium, did he not? Certainly some of his greatest moments (eg. Voodoo Chile) were recorded with a germanium fuzz face so far as I know. But this is a very good sounding pedal. I think the only reasons I have for not wanting one are the space-hogging size and the lack of DC power jack...

  • @JRBain7 You're talking about David Gilmour right? He mostly used a muff not a fuzz face. The two are often mistaken for one another.

  • @ZACWOLFRE721 actually he used the fuzz face until 76

  • i wish they made the writing white

  • Nice demo!

  • does anyone know if this has a buffer or causes oscillation with a wah

  • The normal fuzz face with the red paint sucked balls. you needed alot of output for it, or it would just buzz. I gave it to my bass player, because it only worked properly for his bass, I hope this one is better for guitars, and has more sustain than the red version.

  • 0:09 what is the name of the song riff?

    if its a song..

  • @Y4Uable Spanish Castle magic

  • should i use this pedal and the dunlop hendrix octavio/fuzz pedal together or just the octavio one by itself?

  • what is the song in the very beggining if the video

  • a lil' bit of Spanish Castle Magic!

  • Ant Face pedal

  • 指をさすな!

  • not trying to be mean at all here but are you like proguitar shop's ONLY employee???? its you in every video ive seen!!! hahaha :D

  • That's an AWESOME tone.

I'll make sure I at least try this one out...

  • Mhm, cause it's not like people play Hendrix covers or anything

  • i love this video. ill be listening to hendrix until i die.

  • was that based of spanish castle magic what you played at the beggining? definately need to pick up one of those some time for my bands sound

  • @gokolink It was the exact riff, minus the frilly bits

  • looks savage, a creepy blue smiling alien and everytime you spin its eyes it gets angrier

  • F***ing pedal, you're gonna say what's inside of you before I smash you on the wall !

  • didn't realize that the fuzz face literally resembled a face till right now... just had a dumb moment :D

  • Wild thing ! You make my heart sing !

  • do you guys have any new demos of 65 amps coming up?

  • intro song?

  • @salihgenc34 Spanish Castle Magic

  • Anyone else think this pedal looks like a dog's happy face from mars?

  • @ferrizzi hahaha excellent! xD

  • @ferrizzi damn it dude...i'm never gonna be able to NOT see that now!!!!

  • @ferrizzi Nah man, I totally see the Roli Poli Ollie faces.

  • @ferrizzi it looks like jimi hendrix to me, with his goatee

  • @ferrizzi It looks like my dads face from Earth

  • @ferrizzi I don't know, Iv'e never been to Mars

  • @ferrizzi Me

  • @ferrizzi you can really see him smiling ;-)

  • The reason why this pedal is so good is that you can go from mild overdrive into fuzzy madness by using the volume on your guitar. I always crank the fuzzknob and then control the intensity that way. I actually sold my overdrive pedals, because i don't need them anymore. It is truly fantastic!

The batteries lasts for months by the way!

  • is it worth buying a fuzzface and an octavio, or can the octavio balance both? cause buying both is out of my price range but i really want a fuzz pedal. nice vid and playing

  • @EtnDuv

Buy the Fuzzface first, THEN add the Octavia/Octavio later. Octavia pedals sound best when run with a Fuzz. And the Dunlop JH-F1 sounds great. But also check out the MXR Classic 108. Same guts, but with a few switchable tweaks in the circuit for added versatility. Just remember, these are SILICON-based fuzzes (Think "Cry Of Love", "Band Of Gypsys". Jimi used germanium Fuzzfaces on the first 3 studio albums (Smoother, less gain). My favorite for that style is the Analog Man NKT Sunface.

  • i guy wanted to sell me one of those (1968)

Eric johnson sold it to him in austin, he used it for years.

Eric also told him that Hendrix might have owned it :O

  • Such a great, simple pedal.

  • Being a vintage snob but with integrity, I will admit that this sounded very good.

  • it i looka like smiley face

  • @gageman70 thats why its called fuzzface ;)

  • @Richee91 haha never knew that, thats awsome

  • Dunlop is very cool! The guitar playing in this vid really does it justice. This pedal does a great job for getting those old time Hendrix tones for those Hendrix cats out there. I pair mine with a good octavia octave up pedal. Tried the Roger Mayer octavia but was disappointed. The 'Fillmore Thunder' by Elite Tone is awesome the octave notes ring out clear undistorted. It rocks a groovy BC108 Fuzz in the same box. Mine was $177 I think. Well worth it!

  • I'm not a fan a fuzzy guitar, I never really like it but I have been working on a few songs that would sound good with a fuzz sound so I'm getting a little in to it, good pedal!

  • @dragonzith i didnt before too, listen to queens of the stone age and obviously hendrix. you'll like fuzz a lot more perhaps

  • Eric Johnson make this pedal sound like heaven! I just have to have it!;D

  • @Abbe5454 need the butler tube driver with it.

  • David used to use a fuzz face before the Big Muff pi was released.

  • @EHXGUY In some of the clips at Pompei, Echoes and such, you cna see him using a fuzzface

  • It doesn't sound as good with the silicon transistors. the germanium ones gives it a warmer and altogether better sound.

  • I love this pedal, I use it for heavy sludge metal

  • true bypass, really?

  • @fortheloveofthefree I think its pretty sick

  • the pedal like a smile face

    akoasopkasaok

  • I think it sounds more like Jimi H. at 4:00 to the end.

  • hey were do you insert the battery?

  • @sk8erguy011 YOu take the back off and put it in there

  • that doesn't sound like his tone to me. i guess i won't be buying this fuzz. too bad they won't use it with the same marshall amp so we don't know how that would sound

  • @ThePeterquistgard Why would you want his exact tone? Why not get your own tone???

  • @hentrow

What's wrong with using "his" tone?

  • @hentrow you can model your own sound around this (his). if you eg just like this sound. but i get your point.

  • @hentrow this is not really exactly Jimi sounding. And even then, you could get his exact gear and sound different. Gear is the tool, but the music is from you. And you cannot be Jimi, just like Jimi couldn't mimic your style if he was alive and liked your style.

  • @TheLoneAdvocator Jimi would definitely NOT like my style.... nor would anyone else with ears!!

(I don't even let my CATS hear me play!!) :-)

  • @hentrow If you want your own tone, you won't buy an artist tribute pedal...

  • @hentrow that's why i'd never buy an artist's signature stuff. You should have to search for good tone. it shouldn't come with a name other than yours.

  • @danthatcan2 The only thing sig about this pedal is just that. Its rally just a silicon version of the dunlop fuzz face. Hendrix was really more well known for his germanium fuzzes until later in his career. This kind of pedal would get you closer to an early david gilmour than a hendrix

  • @danthatcan2 dude, just because you use one or two pieces of signature gear doesn't mean that you're using their tone. the Whole idea behind this pedal is it's made like jimi's. doesn't mean you're going to use it the same way he does. I have this pedal and the octavio pedal from the same line, and I'll be honest, my tone is nothing like hendrix when I play. it's just all about what sounds good to your ear and for some people, some of the signature stuff sounds the best.

  • @danthatcan2

You're always just using something that somebody else made unless you are designing your own pedal. get over yourself and admire the good tone.

  • @hentrow If its even possible, a jimi hendrix experience cover band, lol

  • @hentrow The reason I'd buy a signature pedal and this one in particular isnt because i dont want to find 'my own tone' but jimi is who inspired me to pick up the guitar in the first place. I dare you to find one guitar player who started playing because they didnt want to be like someone else, or reproduce the sounds they adore. And ultimatley, no one could match jimi anyway, nor would anyone in the world use it exactly the same way as anyone else. everyone has their own tone already. Dig?

  • @ohjames88 As a matter of fact, I never wanted to sound like someone else. I started playing electric guitar because I saw the chance to find my own unique voice on this instrument, without reproducing somebody's tone. So, just for the record, I'm one of those people you think don't exist.

  • @DiederikYBaan yngwie malmsteen doesnt............but i get your argument i totally agree

  • @DiederikYBaan Les Paul :D He made his guitar and played his own tunes hehe..

  • @DiederikYBaan thats a great reminder man. Ive been too worried about trying not to sound like my favorite bands lately

  • @DiederikYBaan Although I wouldn't say I started playing because I didn't want to sound like someone else, I didn't start playing because I wanted to sound like someone else either. Individual and unique playing style/tone is important to me. But I do agree, you can still sound like yourself with this, or any pedal. It all depends on what you do with it.

  • @hentrow

You mean being original? Then we'd lose 85% of the musicians out there! Look at all the guys on youtube playing the same blues solos over and over....

  • to use this does my amp need to be on clean?? and is this like a distorion pedal lol. i like the classic warm tone so

  • @JCBkingg it'd be better if you had a bit of overdrive on the amp before hand/

  • So is the Hendrix more like a original fuzzface or is it supposed to just sound like Hendrix's fuzz tone.

  • @ureadmymind

This is like the silicon fuzz Jimi used later in his career.

  • amazing tone!

  • my cousin told me he threw it at a wall and it didnt do a thing to this pedal, in fact it actually put a hole in the wall!

  • u cood wire up a dc power plug into it or solder the power wire to the battery wires n plug it in

  • are you using a strat?

  • Vintage fuzz ftw

  • this one is very very good!!!

  • I can't help but it sound like like the origional, I bought one about a year ago and i'm sorry to say, i'm still not satisfied

  • loved jimi's utilization of the fuzz face, but also his crybaby, axis fuzz, univibe and octavia

  • i would love to make my own copy of this pedal to avoid the price tag, but the casing is just so cool :D

  • @TheMushroomDog I thought the same thing, but it is sooo worth the money. I use it very frequently. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

  • Hey, Andy, this doesn't run on a DC power supply does it? Just batteries?

  • @TheMushroomDog - No DC, just a single 9v battery. Thanks for watching!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos

hey which one do you think is better

    the mXR M173 classic 108

    or the fuzz face

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos well there is a visual sound adaptor to the battery cable that you can plug into the wall

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos how long can you use it with one battery?
