  • I carried kavadi in 2000. I completed 3 years, then in 2003, I came to Batu Cave with a middle age friend who was very down at time. He is a modern singh. I asked him to fast for 3 weeks and I brought him there and carry paalkudam. But on our way to the river, we met a priest who gave us a very bad impression. I better don't talk about it. At that time, the giant statue of Lord Murugan was not built yet. That is why I kept thinking of visiting there.

  • @velmuruga108 : It's a lot better now, maybe you should make another trip down :D

  • I love to come over to Batu Cave on Thaipusam day, but I was participating in carrying kavadi in S'pore.

  • @velmuruga108 : Glad to hear that, how was thaipusam in singapore ?

  • @kannannaidu OK lah, only thing is everything control by the government. This year they implement many new rules, such as, no hanging of coconuts and fruits. And the kavadi ticket has increased to $150. If fail to move out by 2pm, pay $200 penalty. For evening, must move out by 6.30pm, or else the $200 deposit will also gone. I also uploaded video. After I completed my task, I went home and rest. Later in the evening, I went there to shoot video. Many ppl ignore the rules, haha.

  • @velmuruga108 : i did witnessed Thaipusam in Singapore, back when i was studying there in 1997 :D . There were quite some rules and restrictions back then too. The kavadis use to play urumi melam from cassette player.
