  • L'ho chiesta io, all'Inghilterra. Illo tempore, off course.

  • @dorapezzilli

    Ciao Andrea!

    very nice =) Zx

  • So do I.

  • I learned how to play this song on the accordion when I was a little boy. I still love it and play on my keyboard today 60 years later.

  • Another popular Italian song that became a big hit in 1940 was LaPiccinnia or as it became known The Ferryboat Seranade. It is on YouTube sung by Carlo Buti.

  • @Georgewos

I would have loved to hear it, but when I searched on YouTube for this, it says that there are videos found for this sung by Carlo Buti. How comes?

  • I don't know why You are having a problem. I just checked in YouTube and His song is still there. Try again.

  • I'm so sorry. I misread Your post. There is no song about LaPiccinnia by Luciano Virgili on You Tube. Only Carlo Buti who was a very popular singer during the 30's and 40s. I think You might like another singer who sings songs in 8 different languages which includes Italian and Spanish songs. His name is Helmut Lotti.

  • beautiful! molto bello!!

  • Superb! Thank you.

  • thanks for posting, brings back sweet childhood memories in Lanciano..

  • My uncle and his family lived in Lanciano and years ago took me to a beautiful area of Abbruzzi where my mom was born. From the mountain top we could look down and see the Adriatic sea. If there is a heaven it must look like this. quando e bella il Abbruzzi!

  • My dad was born in Abbruzzi, my mom in Marche :)

  • "Wonderful"

  • A very nice song which is very well-known to all Greeks even today!!! When Greece was invaded on 28.10.1940, this song was sung in Greek verses against Mussolini...However, my late uncle, who spoke Italian, used to sing it in its Italian verses. To be noted that Italian singers and their songs were and still are very popular in Greece. Greeks love Italy and its people.

  • yes and i like greek songs like omorphi thessaloniki by tstitsanis. southern italy has alot of ancient greek blood and in some places like calabria they even speak ancient greek.

  • The words to this song describe my mothers birthplace, in the hills of Abbruzzi. I was fortunate to visit the little town my mother was born in and I saw what the song describes. The beauty of this place is sung in the lyrics of this song and when I hear it, I see visions of the beautiful hills and valleys of Abbruzzi.

  • Even the mariachis in mexico play this song in their repertoire
