  • What's the "not from this planet" surprise you mentioned in the description? I couldn't find it, but it got my interest. Also, what time does the 8 footer appear? If it really was 8 feet then that's a world class lake sturgeon. Probably pushing 250 pounds.

Either way, nice video. It would've been an experience to swim right alongside them.

  • The reason you don't really see any eggs when they do their twisting mating shuffle, is because of the stones you see in this video. They sink and have "sticky" on them to attach to the stones. Greg Lashbrook and Kathy Johnson have wonderful videos with high def that may show a quick glimpse. Their site is GregoryAD. They have videos for sale that give a great narrative of the spawning process.

  • great video, many thanks for that, is there anyway possible to see the actuall eggs being laid ? thanks

  • Could I get any original footage? I am arranging a video for a traveling sturgeon exhibit and would love to get any original sturgeon video.

    Thanks - G.R.fitch

  • It's a hallway mirror like you find in hospitals where two hallways meet.

  • at 2:50 is that some kind of light, or just a reflective object on the river bottom??

  • this is cool where at was it in the st cliar river or lake huron

  • @baseballdude0911

It was in the St. Clair River about 1/4 mile south of the Bluewater bridge.

  • looks like you swam into a sturgeon orgy. ya might want to wipe your gear down....

    jk thats really cool footage

  • That is awesome!!! What are those large cables down there for? Is this right under the blue water bridge or down farther?

Great job! I love how they could care less that you are there.

  • @dacodemonk The large rusted cables were from the attempted salvage of the M.E. Tremble Shipwreck by Henry McMorran in the late 1800's.
