I haven't watched the series in a while, so I might be a little of. Soon after this seen, all the character's go through instrumentality, including asuka. That will give them to the choice to back to earth in human form if their will wants to. Hope that helps, and you should really watch the entire movie :P

Asuka did have hard feelings towards her mom, and that is what caused to eva to be "weaker" than the others. What Asuka did want is the love that she didnt receive, and in this movie she finally finds that love and is able to maintain 100 sync with her eva.

I totally agree. It seems to me that all my friends like to watch anime with the actual Japanese voices because when they hate the English subs. Thats only because they watched the Japanese version first. First anime i watched was the English version of evangelion, and now i cant stand watching the Japanese versions (reading is annoying, it distracts me form actually WATCHING the show :P)

thats not true, when it shuts down the main powersource is lost. the MAIN power, it has enough power on its own to keep them alive until a search party can recover them, on the episode where shinji is eaten by the angel and has to turn his power to minimal was because it doesnt have enough power to last more than 3 hours or so.

An incredible scene, even though the animation is drawn in a strage way that is different from what we where used to in the tv series. Music is another highlight here. II Air strangely fits the chaos and bloodieness of the scene as does Shiro Sagisu's piece, "The Passage of Emptiness", which is awesome like all his cues for Eva. And to defend Tiffany Grant, I think she did an excellent job on Asuka and it shows here. That scream she does at the end when she gets impaled...wow.

I'm pretty sure she did die... If not from her injuries, but because in the last 2 seconds of the clip about 8 lances go through the chest/core of the eva. And yeah... Entry plug begin inside the chest almost certainly crushed with her inside.

"Erster" does actually not mean "one", but "first" and she is saying "scheißt" which means "shits". But I think it's just a mistake in translation and should mean "Scheiße" which is "shit" in english.

Btw. in the german dubbed version she is not even saying "Scheiße" but just "oh" ;) ... dubbed version suxx
