why are you getting choked up on a movie reboot?....thats just sad. Honestly, I think its ganna be a pretty cool movie, I like the original ones as-well, but it seems like it's going to have a better story then the first. I think your over-reacting a bit.
@watchthatvid112 It's the idea that people didn't appreciate the original three movies in the Spiderman trilogy. To be honest, Peter Parker's origins aren't very important and, in my opinion, it seems a bit boring. The movie is supposed to be about Spiderman, not Peter Parker. They should've made a prequel movie if they wanted to talk about Peter Parker and his parents.
Joe, kids today don't relate to fun and whimsy. They relate to "my life sucks and I'm so speshul because my life sucks more than yours nerrrr!" It makes things suck for the rest of us. :(
Other side of the spectrum (yes, I am commenting a lot) - my brother-in-law refuses to acknowledge that anything catering to his interests can turn out badly. He still swears the Star Wars prequels are good.
When I was 15, I was really as pleased as I possibly could have been with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. Didn't like the second one so much (too Evil Dead-y), and the third one was disappointing in a few ways. But I don't HATE Sam Raimi by any means.
What my husband and I agree on is that we DON'T need another Spider-Man ORIGIN STORY. At this point, it's just redundant and boring. I'm pretty sure everyone remembers where he got his powers.
Personally, I agree on most points. Spiderman isn't dark. Spiderman's origin? I think we can figure that out. However, I always hear from "in the know" people that audiences they do need know for whatever reason. If this junk is so good, put it in the opening credits.
Yet, I am hopeful about the reboot. Tobey Maguire was way too nerdy and never a good wise cracker. I hope that despite the trailer they'll have Spiderman leaving me laughing. Hopefully Gwen will be better developed too.
Spiderman being emo all started when Nolan made Batman emo and angry. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like all Superhero films suddenly followed the emo formula since Batman Begins. Don't get me wrong, tho, Nolan makes great films.

@justinspuberty2 Totally agree! Still, every now and then I like a real happy superhero film....and I liked Brandon Routh's Superman precisely for that reason. (I will admit that a lot of people did not like his version, though.)
So THAT'S what you look like! feels like I've been reading Zebra Girl for centuries. Naturally it's only been... what, two, two and a half years? I... always pictured you as British. You type a bit like a Brit.
Wow it is just disconcerting actually seeing a human face to go along with the comic I've been reading for ten years now. But yes. Raimi rocks, and that overlong first person shot just ground into my nerves like a cheese-grater made of tigers.
If see enough trailers in your time, you'll realize they're all the same--there's nothing intellectually stimulating about them at all. Think about spout all this proverbial nonsense that trailers repeat: "A hero must choose...the fate of the world...we all have secrets..." It's all nonsense, melodrama, and appeals to an extremely dumb-downed audience...and little children who eat that stuff up.
Hehe! You're so cute and so amazing to look at! I don't know why you were so shy about showing everyone this to everyone at zebragirl. Get some self esteem! You're entitled to have some when you're this awesome and you're right about everything too. Tried having an open mind but the moment I saw that hair, I facepalmed.
I totally agree with you. I think the only reason they're going through with it is because of the success of the Hulk example. By which I mean the first 21st century one by Ang Lee then the Incredible Hulk from a few years ago. I think your dog was agreeing with you there XD.
they should have just made a movie just about his parents
