Why do people always blame religion? On another side of the coin, one could argue about how much chaos, injustice, and bloodshed were rampant under the Secular regimes of USSR or China, but that would also be too simplistic.

I live in the United Arab Emirates and i can tell you that its a Fantastic place to live. The GCC is developing so fast and is a great place to bring up your kids. I moved out of the UK for the peace and security. Funny thing is that the UAE are investing millions in Turkey.

They also have an abundance of wealth, which luckily for them they have managed to invest a good part of it in improving overall standards of material living. Had all the "Oriental" land been saved within Turkey (instead of only Anatolia and small European territory) and Atatürk's reforms implemented within this vast context, this new country would've been much more powerful then the Ottoman Empire itself, and of course then the Anglo-French nation-states.
