Singing Oh Canada, won't unbreak a window, unburn a car, or unblock the street. Maybe the next time a robber is about to be caught, he should sing Oh Canada, in hopes that the cops won't arrest him.
@BubbaGumpShrimp33 they probably had orders to advance if the protesters crossed a certain point. The police may have used the telephone post as a way-point and when the protesters moved up and set down, they most likely got the order to charge.
@bachaka61 Fairly standard Police crowd control tactic. They charged as a few people sat down. Their thinking is they need to keep the crowd on their feet and movable if they get the orders to clear the street. A few dissenters could get the whole mob sitting down and recalcitrant.
The sit down non-violent civil disobedience tactic is a great one. Works well, is inspiring and incredibly brave...as long as you don't run away at the first sign of Police.
why canada why!

@webberjames Why are you associating this crowd with black bloc? These guys seem pretty peaceful to me.

@BubbaGumpShrimp33 Canadians have never rioted before, they don't know what black bloc is.

@bachaka61 They didn't attack, they charged. It's crowd control.

@KovuTheHusky Verbal slickster. "charged" they hurt peace full people. Zero provocation
thomasmoonman 1 year ago
@thomasmoonman I'm not saying it was right- I'm just saying there's a difference between police beating people up and running at them in a line.
