  • LOL i saw the micro stack, half stack, and what i assume is a mixer/soundboard and expected to see some intense metal head but i was dissapointed 0.o

  • @mrremix12321 What can I say? I was a nerd :P Still am mostly.

  • schecter i've heard has great quality too, which might have to do something with the fact that their owned by the same ppl(ESP & Schecter). I've heard a couple good things about ibanez but lots of people say don't buy them. simply because their quality isn't that great cept for prestige models and their customer service sucks also. i've looked specifically more at the ESP MH-417 and the ESP Viper-417, and i've heard their both pretty good. i've also looked at the ESP EC-1000 deluxe, great guitar

  • @shredkins I think the ESP’s are great value; playable right out of the box. They look good too. Having the EMG pickups keeps the B string from turning into mud. I like Ibanez, BUT when you purchase an Ibanez you pretty much have to factor in the cost of new pick-ups in the price of the guitar. I’ve only bought one Ibanez that I didn’t have to change pickups (RGR465-SOB). I think Schecter makes some of the best looking guitars around; problem is none of the music stores in my area sell them.

  • @Mandskull i'll take my ltd over a gibson or an ibanez or a schecter any day. it's seriously the best guitar i've ever played and it was under $600 used. play any ltd model 401 up to 1000 and you'll see what i mean.

  • to buy a seven string. the rhoads model is better i think, and a bit more stylish, and the plug does stay out of the way, except when your sitting it sometimes catches but thats your own fault ya know. the gibson location is almost dumb, it looks dumb and unless you have a cord lock thing that keeps it out of the way. next guitar, i've been looking at ESP and have heard many wonderful things, a lot of amazing hardcore bands use the ESP stefcarpenter baritone 7 string, see next post..

  • not a problem, no guitar right now. i could use a vid cam but i'd need to find a guitar. i just sold my jackson RR3 in crimson swirl a couple weeks ago

  • @shredkins Dang! I was going to troll you; but I’d rather talk about your guitar. Why did you sell it? I’m not big on V’s; but Jackson does it right with the Rhoads models. Especially the location of the ¼ plug; given that it doesn’t get in the way when you’re sitting down to play. (compare to the Gibson/Kramer V; HORRIBLE spot for the cable) What do you think your next guitar will be? (assuming you’re going to get a new one)

  • fuckin pussy, horrible cover, easy amazing song. just cause you have gear doesn't mean you can play shit

  • @shredkins You should post your cover as a video reply to this.

  • @shredkins Problem?

  • Yeah really gotta work on this. tempo and timing etc.

  • @CherryNukaCola1 well, it's been two years. I think I've worked on it enough :P

  • @Mandskull I see, maybe a re-do then? :P

  • unworthy tempo and timing is off

  • You play it wrong :s

  • you speed up too much in the picking parts. practice with a metronome to make sure you stay on time

  • Wow is your rhythm way off. You are not even close in most of the song. You get the idea, but its nowhere near being accurate.

  • I'd argue I failed at the verses and that's the main screw up.

  • You should really listen to the song again and get the verse right... because its wrong. Also learn the right picking. Otherwise is was good

  • do you know how much it would cost to install a tremelo system so i can have a tremelo bar?

  • It would have to be a pretty decent guitar to make it worth it. Expect to pay around $40 for the body routing. (if your going to do the work) If your going to get a shop to do it then expect around $120+ for the body routing & install. Expect to pay anywhere from $60 for a basic trem bridge to $80-$200 for a Floyd Rose. Expect to pay a little more if you want a locking nut as well.

  • Just buy a guitar with a floyd, you will spend in excess of $400-500 to install one and you can buy a decent intermediate guitar for the same amount with a licensed trem. And just sell off your old one if you want to get some more money for any pickup upgrades. Good rule of thumb, you buy a guitar with a trem, not mod a guitar to have a trem. Plus depending on the guitar the trem won't fit well, some guitars have a body angle meant for fixed bridges, ala Gibson, or anything with a tuneomatic.

  • You'd come out cheaper just by starting out with a new guitar. If you already have a decent les paul or similar it is possible to install bigsby.

  • dude whats your amps settings?

  • not bad dude

  • I plan on redoing this with one of my EMG rigged six strings since my amp settings are better plus I can actually do pinch harmonics now.

  • degog dont flame people which are better than u..

    btw...not bad :P

  • you're fat

  • Cool.

  • I want to play slipknot and god of lamb. metal bands but im a begginer.Should i go with the 6 or 7 string

  • Unless you're extremely sold on the seven string, I'd go with the six string guitar; it's more common plus both slipknot and lamb of god play six strings.

  • I'd also suggest you go with a fixed bridge and not a floating trem. If your looking at Ibanez guitars, while the trem is very cool for beginners it can be a pain to setup and change strings.

  • I concur. I dislike tremolo bridges.

  • The trem isn't cool for beginners. Most beginners THINK its cool but then never use it and only cry and whine about how hard it is to change strings. Really? It takes me the same amount of time to restring a floyd as it does a fixed bridge. Setup is easy. I think people who suck at setting up trems are not good with hands on stuff, 'cus they aren't that hard at all.

  • Nice try attempting to troll but regardless of how 'awesome' you are at everything not everyone is a professional guitar luthier.

The point I'm trying to make is that for BEGINNERS a fixed bridge is generally easier and less frustrating in the long run.

  • I agree with you though, for beginners a fixed bridge is the best and easiest way to learn how to play. But for some reason a lot of beginners see a floyd and think it looks and sounds cool without any thought of what is necessary to maintain it.

And I'm no professional luthier or anything. I'm just a guy who decided he would never pay any amount for some Guitar Center asshole to fuck up his guitar. So I did everything myself. Pickup changes, amp mods, etc. Floyds are not that hard to set up.

  • Well the trem is cool for some things. You can do some interesting things with it.

  • i dont like slipknot at all....

but i love 7 string guitars!!!

because i hate downtuning to B rofl

have you thourght about purchasing an 8 string

or trying one out? there fucking awesome!

  • you should use your pinky more it will make your playing better

  • I do use it at points. It depends what I'm playing. But I agree, I do underuse it.

  • thats good man i no it makes me play alot smoother as well

  • i fink its quite good lol

  • Pointless Comment

  • haha wtfXD

  • wow your timing's WAY off!!!

  • I don't think it's my timing so much as the fretting patern you're refering to. In which case you're right.

  • omg relax your right hand dudeXD awesome gear man, how could you afford it all? ^^ and what happened to the pinch harmonics? thats like the "wow" of the song

  • They're there, just not so good since I wasn't as good at them at that point. Also, my right hand isn't actually very tense it's just the angle. Besides, does it seriously matter?

  • aha ok. well, sure the right-hand "posture" is unique and original and all but it looks like you're some kind of retard, no offenseXD

  • I'm not defending it, I'm just saying "doesn't matter"; who the hell cares about their hand posture while playing?

  • what else is in that rack thats not being used?

  • Gainiac 2, and Voodu Valve.

Gainiac 2 bothers me, and the Voodu valve I had no use for in this song.

  • your right hand scrares the shit out of me

    relax that picking hand dude

  • Haha, it looks tense, but it's really not particularly tense, but if I relax that part of my hand I seem to also have to relax my index finger and thumb, so I end up dropping my pick, which sucks too.

  • oh ok i understand

well the only other tip i could say about the picking

try not to strum using your whole arm, try working on just the wrist

makes it easier and more controlable

  • I will certainly try that. Thanks for the tips.

  • glad to help

  • u did'n take a rythm in 0:37-1.07 :)

  • Hey, thought I'd let you know you're playing practically the whole song wrong...but good attempt.

  • Show me how; but do it on a seven string.

  • OMG I CAN SEE THE BC RICH IN THE BACKK!! UGH I LOVE THAT GUITAR good friggin cover dude, keep it up

  • again wow!!!...10 stars for that man!!!...

  • 4 stars ;)

  • wtf, what's up with your fingers on your right hand, there like tiny stumps XD

  • LOL, Yeah they do look very funny here. Its just an illusion & the odd way I hold my pick.

  • man your hand!!!!!! o god

  • that looks so fake

  • I'm glad you think so.

  • for the record, i hate slipknot - so im not going to comment on the song nor your playing(the song looks like cake, but certianly doesnt taste like it)

however - i randomly stumbled on this video, and I thought panning through all the music gear in the beginning was silly... look kid, you didnt work for any of that - so why brag?

WOO!! MY PARENTS BUY ME THE BEST TOYZ

  • Do you mean as silly as showing off skinny arms before the music starts?

  • you hold the pick weird. o.o

  • I do, yes, but I'm only ever at a disadvantage if I'm trying to use a tremolo.

  • I have a tremmy and it doesnt make me hold the pick differently....

  • What I meant was that I hold my pick differently, and it's only ever a problem if I try using a trem.

  • coool^^

  • bad...

  • TO THE BONE

  • your right hand !!!!

  • lmao! Your what...like 13? Stop with the hand signs...you almost missed the Que.

  • XD I know, it was really funny. I meant it as a sarcastic parody of Bruce Strauss. Look him up if you want a laugh.

  • For the record, I rated up the comment; the hand signs are gay.

  • ottimo bravo continua a suonare loro e diventerai qualcuno

  • grazie!

  • hey im 15 and ive been playin for about 3 years. right now i hav a syn custom but now i want to play more stuff thats in lower tuninin,,, does anyone now a cheap guitar that can get in to low drop tunings ....if u do send a message to my page

  • any guitar can.. lol.

Get a thicker gauge of strings, 12s probably if you wanna go B or drop A. Although, i wouldnt really recommend 12s if you're gonna shoot back to a higher tuning.

  • How has the rg been modded? Did you change the pickup(s)?

  • It's got a DiMarzio D-sonic 7 in the bridge position, which I really don't like. If I could do it again I've get a PAF 7

  • mate your awesome what age are you :O

  • I am 15

  • well then your awesome when did you start palying ?

  • Hmmm, I am not sure because at first I didn't like playing guitar, so I didn't really play it, But something like 3 or 4 years.

  • kool im 15 just started learning guitar and just watched this and wondered ahah

  • One of the things that got me on my way to heavy metal guitardom is I started learning older Rammstein songs, which aren't too easy, but aren't too hard and they really prepare you for all kinds of heavy metal riffs. A song I would recommend trying to learn is Buch Dich

  • kwl thanks il try ;) :L i subscribed and shalla add ya ;)

  • your harmonics sound pretty nasty

try digging in a little more or a bit less

it might also help with straightening out the way you pick your hand looks tense really really tense

  • I try loosening it up and I drop my pick, so I couldn't care less if it looks tense; it's really not that tense. As for pinch harmonics, yeah, not so good in this video. That's what EMG pickups are for. I really resent the pickup in my sevenstring because it really fails at harmonics, but my EMG guitars, harmonics are just FLYING!

  • Playing it well or not, the best way to learn is to record yourself like you've done. Takes courage to post a video showing your skill, and you did a fine job- especially with the harmonics.

Don't listen to these haters- rock on.

  • Херасе! Апарат у него супер, а играть неумеет!

  • Yeah, it was meant to be sort of funny. But don't go dissing slipknot guitar difficulty. There a lot of crap by them that I can't play.

  • that is good

  • need to thighten uothe hinges and play alittle better.imean, its really good, but just a little sloppy. just a wee bit

  • Good try. Work a little more on the verse parts there a bit rushed and the transition is a bit sloppy. But sic guitar man :D Keep up the good.

  • Yeah, I was watching it later, and it was a bit sloppy on the verses, and apparently I was playing it wrong. Might redo it with a drop B tuned guitar someday.

  • sausage fingers, GOOD PLAYING :D

  • I use what I've got.

  • Мажор!!!)))) Играл хреново, но апаратурка супер!))))

  • VERY COOL!!

  • I own that guitar

gonna switch the pick-ups in it with 2 Seymour duncan JB'S

  • Good choice, put up a video after so I can hear how it sounds.

  • will do ^^

  • no ur wrong. not a cover.

  • Just because I didn't play it perfectly authentically (which I might add is impossible in this case because of the seven string to be perfectly "authentic") doesn't mean it's not a cover.

  • sorry that was my lil bro. u did good

  • dude your parents bought you all they

  • wow,,, i wish i could play guitar x.x but... i don't have the money for guitar,, or lessons..

  • Great job on a great song! What's next? You do any Abba covers?? **sweet smile**

  • i gotta learn that riff in da beginning its (sic)

  • It freakin' is.

  • Pride is never good, I'm surprised I come across to you as a bigheaded, pridefull guy, but if that's the way you take me from reading probably about 100 to 500 words that I have written (depending if you've read my other replies) then you discern my personlity from those few words when I have spoken hundreds of thousands throughout my life, then so be it; I don't care that much =)

  • "On another note, I was beside the equipment my parents bought me, not infront of it"

    o, i c wut you did thar...cute

Yea because i'm pretty sure you bought that computer behind you too huh?... humility, learn it and use it once in a while. Argue semantics all you want, makes no difference. Like i said you're not bad, but loosen up those chubby digits and keep on keep'n on!

  • I didn't yell "DUDE, I BOUGHT ALL MY EQUIPMENT, AND I LIVE ALONE AND I MAGICALLY MOVED THE CAMERA BY MYSELF" No, dude, I'm a 15 year old kid who doesn't have a lot of money, my parents bought me that stuff and I am greatly thankfull. And if I loosen up I drop my pick, I've already heard that my right hand is too tight, it makes no difference.

  • NICE EQUIPMENT! NICE PLAYING!

    XD AWESOME!

lol 50 seconds, strumming hand looks like mini fingers

  • rich fat kids rule, tbh if i had to choose between being fit and being a good guitar player... or some sort of "craft" like that... i'd be a badass fatass guitar player 10/10 times. Although when you make more vids... try not to pose in front of all the equipment mommy and daddy bought you please... that shit makes you look like a damn assclown.. However, I don't see how all these poeple are talking shit you're not bad. Keep on keepin on brother!

  • I know, I don't usually pose. This was intented to have parody a youtube guitarist named Bruce Strauss search him up sometime, I promise you'll be entertained. I had it saying that I disliked him, but in light of my getting more views then I usually do I took it off. I really don't think it's cool, I just play guitar, I don't try fit the look.

  • On another note, I was beside the equipment my parents bought me, not infront of it, and I'd be hard pressed to find a teenager on here who has bought his own gear, and if I do, their gear is going to suck ass, so at the very least I mine sounds good. I just need a better camera. Plus my favorite guitar was bought by me.

  • I buy My gear and it doesn't suck. I ordered the Valvekjng and I have a sweet pedalboard and a couple good guitars just not near what you got. I hate that I have to work all the time to get half the crap you got. Nice stuff though. Check out my vid on improvising. Blues style Shred at the end.

  • Ya, he's used gift $ for yrs for every occassion to get his gear-it's all he's wanted - does he have a PS3, Wii, Xbox360,PSP, nintendo DS? NOPE it's all about his gear and music there's just nothing wrong with that - he worked all summer to buy a new guitar and amp .. just sucks that just because he has stuff it somehow seems to take away from the music- he's just a kid ( my son ) who plays music and put a video up .. nothing different than any of you who do the same ..

  • Yeah i agree its cool that he uses his money on gear instead of the new Rock Band game its just it seem like he has more than he can use. I play with some professional guys who have been playing for 30 years that have as much as he does.

Oh yeah don't think that these guys or I don't think he's good were just jealous of his gear. The dude's a solid rythem player. he'll do a band some good someday or if he isn't already.

  • yeah you need to listen up all stiff fingered. a lesson or 2 wouldnt hurt on technique and time signatures or just rhythem in general. AND WHERE ARE THE PINCH HARMONICS JEEEEZE. what waste of decent equipment.

  • LOL, your kidding. The pinch harmonics are there...odd that you can't hear them. What I think is too bad is that his cam is not as good as the equipment for sure. I'd sure love to hear your version of this song.

  • You know, it's hilarious that you went through all the trouble of creating another youtube account after I blocked you just so you could post another completely irrational and irrelevant comment on my video. My pinch harmonics squeal like a pig getting skewered, my technique is clean and my timing is on.

Don't think it is an inconvenience for me to answer you; I love butting head with morons because their hollow skulls always cave in.

  • hell yeah dude, nice piece. and nice warlock in the back... and the stacks are sick as fuck haha. nice set up bro. keep playing bro. nice vid.

  • Yeah, my little marshall stack never ceases to amuse me.

  • Nice

  • guys stop bashing him he is good at it so give him some credit

  • Fuck lol

  • yeah your verse timing is wrong, no offense, you dont look like the slipknot type, just sayin

  • Pick up a Guitar; Turn on a video cam and at least qualify yourself as having some degree of skill in order to judge others. Lets see what YOU have to offer the world. Right now all you have to offer is criticism & judgment. Theres already enough of that. Did you also notice this is a six string song? Did you notice its being played on a 7 string? No offence, but he looks to be about 15, & has more courage & guitar skill than youll ever have. Show him what you got. Play this song.

  • ive already played onstage in front of people multiple times where you have no second chance and its easier on a seven because the song is in drop c tuning

  • Uh....no. The 7 is in standard the 6 is in drop. Finger position is easier in a drop. I'm glad you play perfect on stage. It's going to make it easier for you to GRAB A CAM AND SHOW EVERYONE YOU PLAYING THIS SONG PERFECT AS YOU SEEM TO THINK MANDSKULL SHOULD HAVE DONE. There's millions of guys just like you. Your lost in the crowd.

  • What exactly is a "slipknot" type... Your ignorance amuses me, Music is for all sorts of people... I don't look like I like death metal in person, but Lord knows im an insane will play the shit till the death of me, "wheeler" you're a vagina, please reply with an answer to the question "what does the slipknot type look like" please, im interested ins eeing your ignorant response.

  • i wish i hadn't posted that shit, everyone thinks im ignorant, its not like i told him to shoot himself, im just sayin, i wouldn't picture seein him at a slipknot concert, it IS a good vid, the only flaw is the verse timing

  • Na, we don't think your ingnorant. All is forgiven; we love you.

  • GROUP HUG!

  • all off you just shut up.. dude, you done really really well. this vid still deserves 5stars.. even if it wasn't the same, he made his own version off it! and even if he lost at least he has the guts and the power to do this!!

stay a f*cking maggot and keep f*cking rocking!!!

  • nicely done!! 5/5

  • lazydude554 said: "verse wasn't quite right", Can you be more specific? I've listened to this & I can't hear what might be wrong. Could you please post a video reply showing the right way?

  • the tabs are wrong, listen to it compared to the real song, it's just not right. personally i haven't tried this song yet, so it's difficult to pin point what the problem is, but seriously, the rhythym is out

  • I spent quite a while listening to the verse to figure out if the riff was wrong or something, and I disagree, I don't find any problem with it. If you can tell me specifically what the difference is it might be easier.

And I didn't play it on my BC rich because the strings aren't thick enough to downtune that far.

  • its the crawl, you only play two notes per crawl, theres supposed to be opens between some of those notes. Listen to song, if you can't pick out those notes, then you shouldn't be trying to learn songs by ear, you should be reading a tab sheet. your just going from the 7th fret to the 10th to the 5th so on. if you want, i could give you the real verse tabs.

  • We'll I've listened to the recording, and two live versions to actually watch them play it, and dude, sorry, there are no open notes in between, and I think Slipknot knows how to play their own song.

  • The fact of the matter is: I am not interested; the video is shot, how the hell am I supposed to change it by now?

  • dang foo your sick with that guitar.

  • narly i love da dun dun dun prt lol

  • I loved that you used the word "narly".

  • it's actually spelled "gnarly" by the way

  • sweet

  • you are very good you know the slides and you doing it very good i think you need to find a band and make your original songs you are good keep going!!

  • wow this was great nice job.

  • I really didn't expect to see much here but...hey you suprized me! Pretty good kid. I think its better that you can't really hear the music in the background that well...I can hear what YOU are doing...like I said, Not bad!

  • Thanks man, I don't think I did too bad either. I will say that it's pretty hard to do those pinch harmonics on that guitar for some reason, probably just the pickup.

  • great song, very nicely performed bro! *****

  • To be honest, I'm surprised you'd consider this a great song considering the music you play on your channel, haha.

  • LOL you play good music!!

    * reply to strat2caster *

    plus i like this cover!
