"Ziggy" Arno and my mother were in the Broadway production of "Song Of Norway" in the '40s. When we saw a revival of the show in the early '60s, he was still in it. She always said he was a wonderful, funny man. Of all the people she worked with, she always mentioned him.
An friend of mine (actor) saw Arno on the stage in Antwerp after 1933, he said it was the greatest actor he ever saw. Arno also directed one of the early flemish talkies in 1937 and you can recognise his signature though he only directed.
I always knew Weber, Monosson, Gluskin, three of the Comedian Harmonists were Jewish, but all of them are great. If I'm not mistaken, F. Hollaender was also a jew.
Incredible how hot an operetta tune can get in the right hands! This is the best version by a popular orchestra I've heard, thank you. Impressive sound, it could just as be of 1990 instead of 1930!

Its a shame that there are still people in Germany who post such comments...

Weber and Arno recorded the same song for another label, without the banjo player. Who is him ?

You can't select any icon. YouTube selects one at random, often with delay (according to the Help Page this can taken up to 6 hours).
