  • Use Science to learn about the world, not a 2000 year old book written by sheep herders

  • @MrStubbsj then why are you here commenting on this video? seem's like the sheep herders had far more intelligence than you could ever possibly posses.

  • Tommis Got Evidence Same thing all us skeptics are asking for

  • @lemonheadpupu

Also, if the Bible forces one to avoid critical thinking, then how do you understand 1 Peter 3:15? After all, providing reason for the hope that is inside requires a self-examination on one's beliefs. If not, then engaging in debates (the role of an Apologist), and considering another side is just out of the question. Unless I'm misunderstanding everything?

  • @lemonheadpupu

Christianity (as Matt Slick knows it) is derived from the Bible. Can you show me where the Bible says it's a sin to think critically? You'd be doing me a big favor. Thanks!

    Cheers.

  • I love the question you posed at the end.

  • Very good video.

  • "They don’t want to find him so they construct excuses and ridiculous expectations to keep themselves secure in their anti-God delusion."

Do you think I'm no longer a Christian because I didn't want to believe in God? NO. I wanted to believe in God, I wanted there to be an afterlife, but without evidence, I won't.

Oh and even if evidence for the biblical God came, I don't think I'd worship him because hes a homophobic, genocidal, infanticidal, malevolent, vain bully.

  • @haleygoeswhoohoo If you wanted God you would've searched and found Him.

You have obviously never understood Him or wanted to seek Him by your false description of God.

  • @oscarmarin1995 Who are you to say I didn't search correctly? You don't know anything, only your "god" can judge me if he's real, and I think he'd be ashamed that you're trying to tell someone they did something wrong or weren't sincere about it.

  • @haleygoeswhoohoo I'm sorry I'm not trying to come off rude, but I have a feeling you never really knew Him...

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." - Matthew 7:7

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. - John 10:27

  • @haleygoeswhoohoo So like he was saying, you don't want to find God. At least you could wait until a separate message before contradicting yourself.

"I wanted to believe in God" "I wouldn't worship him, because he's super mean." So... Why did you want to believe in him?

  • Be wary of Gods with human minds, with human purposes and human desires. Be wary of Gods that speak through human tongues, and the scribbling of human hands. Be wary of gods which desire worship, for these are not gods but demons. Once man worshiped idols of metal and stone, now they prefer paper and ink. Little has changed, men still worship the work of their own hands to the denial of glory of god’s creation. Perhaps if we wish to find truth we should look to God’s work, instead of or books.

  • Christianity to me, can be reduced to 9 simple words, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." I do not believe in the divinity of Christ, however I do believe in soul cleansing power of these word. I disagree with modern Christians in this since: it is those who forgive, not those whom are forgiven that are saved. Forgiveness is not a gift that need be accepted; forgiveness is a gift which cannot be denied.

  • You have to believe that story. The guy got his evidence... kind of the same thing we want. You start by believing what the book said, we don't.

  • Evidence: God is real because the Bible says so.

Atheist "attack": You can't be serious.

  • I have an atheist friend and boy oh boy are you right.

  • Really good video. Atheists seem to not be open to opening their eyes to how Christians see it. When you have faith in religion/chritianity... it transcends physical space and it touches your soul and spirit. It provides comfort and hope... we are taken care of our father, the lord. atheists never seem to think past physical evidence, though

  • @kittycatbeck123 Because physical evidence is all that maters. You dont see court rooms bringing in gypsies to talk to the dead, be cause that would make cases like OJ, just another case. Out side of physical evidence is speculation, and speculation is worthless in terms of truth. And after all, christians are all wrong. everyone knows that thor is the one true god. His book said so, he is infallible, and he wrote the book. That and he touched my wolf aura so now my third eye is open. DUH.

  • @hiphopguy0 still ignorant, aren't you?

  • @kittycatbeck123 Quite the opposite, as stated before my third eye is opened. Those who listened to false prophets and gods are the ignorant ones, I mean, all the proof is there. Even nonsperitiual evidence, for thor is a mirror immage of zeus and jupiter, he still creates thunder, and when he was sick and tired of all the attention it was his idea to use his hammer and nail jesus. I makes perfect sense.

  • You're basicaly telling Christians to attack Athiests. That sounds like fear-mongering to me.

What did we do to you, we don't try to convert you to athiesm, give us the same respect.

Slick, Instead of trying to sway people's faith or lack of faith. Why don't you get a job on planet earth.

  • @TheItalianCanadian

Because he is an insecure fear mongering cultist.

  • @Killer0fTheSun

    Exactly.

He doesn't give any evidence for god's existence. He just speaks in riddles and insults Athiests for their "supposed" outwardly defensive actions. Although I don't know what athiests he's been talking to. Because that just seems like blatent stereotyping on his part.

I'm sure there's something in the Bible against stereotyping. Which makes Slick a bloody hypocrite.

  • Typical Christian Propaganda.

They, get a friendly looking, christian guy with a condescending sickly sweet voice. And portray us athiests as the defensive, ignorant, "bad guys". Then they quote the bible and start talking in circles. Anyone else find it funny that his name is Matt Slick? Because he's slick, he's the good guy, he's the voice of reason. And us Athiests are the antagonists.

I'm not going to defend my lack of faith.

But none of us truly knows if there is a god or isn't.

  • Good video Matt

  • This person is smart enough to know better... I think. That's the only thing that is really confusing about this video.

  • What would an atheist have done? I see the implication you are trying to make and maybe that works on the people close to you. But you are rather silly for trying to imply atheists are refusing evidence.

You can keep telling yourself that all day long but the fact remains, most of us require no more evidence than we do for believing that our friends exist.

If I was in Thomas' position, I would have believed.

However, no matter how much I beg, god does not see fit to show me anything.

  • 2pac Black Jesus 2014

  • 'holographic projection from the future, hitherto unknown twin brother' epic! great video, thanks for all of your great videos on youtube.

  • Aahh so the reason I cant find god is because I'm not blindly believing in him first? I've never thought of that :P

  • Just more weasel words from Mr Slick.

Right, so God loves each and every one of us, but he's not under ANY obligation to help those who doubt his existence - (the people who christians would identify as needing him most) Sorry but a claim of love IS an obligation. Otherwise we can only conclude there is either some serious emotional blackmail going on here on earth - or the whole thing is complete bullshit. Take your pick.

  • I totally agree with Matt Slick.

I was in this chatroom once, I believe its about "REFUTING BELIEF ON FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER". Damn. I only tried to tell them a proper, real, existent, known evidence of the existence of this wonderful, all-loving pasata monstrousity, when it happened: I was mocked, ridiculed. They HATED on me. All of them were war-freaks. I guess they wont find the joy in putting faith on my flying meatball savior. You wont find salvation with that attitude my friends.

  • Imagine that... the writers of the bible thought the whole story was suspicious and added a character who was skeptical....

  • @mtszabo Makes you think doesn't it.

  • tell a blind deaf atheist to find god. Then stop describing a genie and we shall all shut up.

  • Jesus thought it would be kinder to prove himself to this individual, so that he believes, and might be saved from hell!

But God thinks it's better to not appear to the whole world because we are being 'demanding', and to instead let us live a life and then burn for eternity?

Hmmm... I sure wish Jesus was God! :(

    Oh wait...

  • This would not even be a good argument if your form of Christianity was the only religion in the world, but given that it is only one of thousands of sects of Christianity among thousands of other religions to choose from. How can we possibly know which religion to blindly put our faith into? Islam gives all of the same arguments of miraculous stories of divine magic corroborated by specious and circumstancial evidence. How can we make this choice without critically questioning religious claims?

  • All I heard was Blah, blah, blah, blah a "god" exists.

  • What would be the meaning of your life if you find out you were wrong? All the lies you spread out, all this time spent in churches and seminars, all your world would fall out... That's why you will never be able to change your mind. Religion is just a way for you to give your-self some importance in society. I was catholic until I read "god delusion". It exorcised me from religions. And suddenly, I felt much better...

  • @osteopathie64 "The God delusion" was anything but competent, it is obvious that Dawkins had not studied Christian theology.

  • Do your fish believe in god and why have you imprisoned them?

  • Why are there so many different Religions?

  • When he said that atheists stick their fingers in their ears, close their eyes, and launch mockery filled comments, he is being completely ironic because that is exactly what this Christian zealots do in their passionate defense of their bible. How can this guy start quoting Romans, as if that were literally the word of God? If you fundamentally do not accept the bible, as I do, then he might as well be quoting from any other work of fiction and/or nonfiction to bolster his argument.

  • So Thomas had been one of the Apostles for about three years. He knew Jesus and the other Apostles and when he was told peronally by them that they had seen the risen Jesus he did not believe them until he saw evidnece. Yet we are supposed to belive it without evidence even though we do not know the Apostles personally.

  • lol, reading passages form the bible to prove jesus is divine and god is real? You might as well read tolkien to prove orcs and hobbits are real, what a joke.

  • I am an agnostic, I admit ignorance when it comes to God. I want to believe in Jesus as my savior, this would give me answers and peace. Sadly my mind will not allow me to believe these things. I was raised in a bible believing church, I am very educated on scripture and could argue any point from a christian point of view. I wish I had blind faith because all I have are questions.

  • @scoash1

It appears to me that even with all of your knowledge of scripture you are still seeing Jesus through the eyes of religion and not through the eyes of a person that you can have a meaningful and fulfilling relationship with. Believing in Jesus is not blind faith. Study the four gospels inductively. Don't forget what Jesus told doubting Thomas in John 20:29.

  • Matt doesn't comment on the videos. If you want to talk to him or his people, go to the CARM website. He doesn't have time to respond to every snarky comment on here by teenage atheists.

  • we dont have time to bother going on page of every snarky Matt educating him about his delusional and vile wiews. you actualy have to pay for extra education if you didnt grow out of your infantile beliefs when the other children did. were not going to do it for free. lets just hope he dies of natural causes fast enough not to spread his delusion on others and thus stop draging the human kind back to the dark ages. religion makes me sick you people do everything to retard human progress.

  • Atheist can say what they want, what they feel, how they want. Whether they like it or not.

    In the end, Jesus Wins.

  • @MrHawklan proove it, "i say so" doesnt count.

  • @86Corvus I don't have to. Only you can. Like I said In the end, Jesus Wins either way.

  • @MrHawklan so you admit its a claim without anny prof therefor can be dismissed without proof as false.

  • @86Corvus I already told u I don't care whether you're interested. In the end you still lose. Jesus still wins, simple as that.

  • @MrHawklan i already told you you can claim that but until you prove it you only waste everyones time cause its just words nothing more. proof or gtfo.

  • @86Corvus doesn't matter. You still lose any, which, way.

  • @MrHawklan UNtill you prove it with evidence it doesnt matter what you think is true

so youre the one who looses here all along from the start. and no, saying "no i dont" doesnt make it so. seriously if youre going to continue to blabber bullshit without anny evidence and not even putting up a decent argument ( which btw you are required to by the bible, its ironic that i know your holy book better than you do) youre not worth threating seriously or stopping me from stepping over you

  • @86Corvus lol you type too much. Why so angry? Continue with your excuses. I'm not interested ;)

and a side note, even Lucifer knows the Bible too. LOL. Enjoy whatever time you have left.

  • if more than 1 sentence is "much" typing i can only laugh at you. I dont have to excuse myself YOU DO. and yea im angry cause youre a arogant infantile moron. Now HOw do you know god exists? can you proove it? can you proove "lucifer" or "jesus"? no you cant! so your wievs are just as valuable as me saying unicorns are going to get you in your sleep. if you dotn heve proof of your giberish ends as giberish, being serious about it doesnt make it real have fun living in a delusion.

  • PS oh and no i cant prove it, neither can you. so stop wasting time of people who actualy base theyre views on evidence and care whats right and whats not.

  • @MrHawklan

Jesus wins? I think you mean to say that in the end YOU win. Religion is self serving. Would you even be a christian if you didn't believe that you would be rewarded with eternal paradise? I'd say no.

  • @mfentruck

Good point. The fact is, people cling to religion in the same sense that a cokehead clings to coke. For the time, it feels good, and perhaps your true sense will be dulled, but sooner or later you will realize that you are doing yourself damage by snorting chemicals and believing in a fictitious world. Religion provides permanent hope to people, which is why it has existed so long. The true thinkers in this world are able to look past the bible and think for themselves. Thanks.

  • the cosmological argument fails. because if everything must have a cause, god must have a cause. defining god as something without cause is as valid as defining the universe without a cause.

  • Buddhabr0t: [. . because if everything must have a cause, god must have a cause] Which is invoking an infinite regression fallacy. Thus, the classical concept of an unmoved mover is logically sound. Hume had similar trouble with causality (in his pocket billiards argument), so he resorts to turning causality into question-beggiing. Also illogical. Bertrand Russell believed the ontological argument for God was sound, until Mill introduced him to a variant of your fallacy.

  • @Buddhabr0t youre absolutley corect, and the christians wil absolutley not grasp that cause they go "im incorrect->i cant be incorrect ->im not incorrect" =they cant learn a lesson because theyre afraid of going to hell. theyre lsaves of theyre own psyhique

  • I once debated an atheist and drove him 2 the point that he had nothing left 2 say and then he just left. He could nor believe but he had no more words 2 say.

  • @44SCB Maybe you used flawed logic? Did you claim anything was true that you could not scientifically prove (for example, the bible or christianity)?

  • @44SCB well you folks have a custom not to stop believing things even when presented with evidence to the contrary so the only thing an atheist can do at that point is give up and go away, that doesnt mean you won the debate it only means you werent able to shift your wievs even when proven wrong, in short stubborn stupidity. so i guess thats what happened

  • I think he has christians and atheists mixed up when he says we ignore evidence and construct excuses a to suit our beliefs.

  • @HaveFaithInScience You mean the evidence that demonstrates the supernatural nature of the Bible?

  • @DragomirSA ?

All I was saying was that he said that atheists ignore evidence and construct excuses to suit our beliefs, and I was making a joke that basically said that is what Christians do, not atheists.

  • @HaveFaithInScience Errr yeah...I know

  • @HaveFaithInScience Doesn't everyone have faith in science? It just doesn't answer any of the questions people actually care about. Why am I here? Is there a God? Do my choices matter? Is there life after death? Etc... I could make a whole list. Science is great for letting you know how long it takes a little boy to land on the ground after his drunk dad punches him in the head. It doesn't tell us that it was "wrong" that the dad did that.

  • @MPaulHolmes "Doesn't everyone have faith in science?"

No, said the man watching a video on a computer. Science is a methodology and we see it prove itself all the time.

  • You assume too much my friend. For example.....my screen name is ProofPleez.....because I am truly seeking any kind of proof of the existence of any kind of God. You state you have cosmological and transcendental proof.....I would be in your debt if you could share that proof. I am not against belief.....I am against gullibility. Do not assume that atheists are closed minded (sure some are) but don't paint all with one brush. Some proof .....any proof (beyond blind faith) would be welcome.

  • Its great how you tell atheists what they need to do while accusing them of being arrogant and patronizing. We live in a world filled with amazingly colorful cultures. The history of our planet's people has been mapped in detail and it reveals an incredible mythic narrative. The mysteries of the universe as rendered through the expression of humans throughout history is far greater than one religion can express. You are living in the bronze age. Perhaps one day you will join the rest of humanity.

  • In fact, Atheists are the only group that question the evidence. We don't "interpret" evidence to suit our beliefs.

  • "Reaching the Lost"??? This guy is rediculous!

  • @cherylsalo Yes, but amusing...I want to be on his radio show :D.

  • You have a really nice office! Love your videos and your debates. I love the way you demolished that female atheist from RRS! Praise God for apologists as well-versed as you! :)

  • i like how he says atheists are deluded...let me guess Matt Slick, you grew up in a Christian society and have never once questioned your faith...well i have news for you..atheists are the only people who open their eyes...i grew up in a christian society but i questioned my faith and looked at both sides equally how can you expect yourself to not be deluded when you have been forced to go to church since before you could protest

  • @man1of1steel oh please, your arrogance is quite unnecessary. There are loads and loads and loads of testimonies of people who've grown up Christian and turned atheist, and then back to God. You don't know fact one about this man's personal life or testimony, so here's an idea. If you don't feel threatened by what he's saying, or "alluded to"(after all he said "atheists", he didn't call you by name), why don't you ask him respectfully a question about himself?

  • Atheist are either arrogant or can't understand what God is, similar to the way some, even Ph.D, educated people will never be good at spelling. They stopped believing because God doesn't give them their way or bow to their demands that he show himself, re-grow a person's arm, etc. Atheists are not stupid, and I can see why some are angry that they are being attacked as if they were. :(

  • Here's a test... go on any atheist forum... give evidence for god.

When they give you valid intelligent answers.. ignore them.

    Fingers in the ears?? Exactly.

  • This is hilarious. He says atheists are closed minded... You don't become an atheist by being closed minded. Science changes constantly, if you're an atheist you need to be willing to accept changes to your beliefs. That is the very definition of open mindedness. We don't plug our ears and go "lalalalala" we listen, and then dismantle your arguments because they lack any solid foundation in reason or knowledge. That is why you are attacked, not because we are insecure.

  • We do not need, to fully dissect God, we just want evidence that God exist, and to know what God wants. It is that simple.

God show at least, show himself, and then he should make a logical case for why, we should do what he wants. Also, this God should say which religion(s) and which denomination is true, so nobody will be led astray, unless they wanted to be.That is the only requirement, for us Atheist, and its not that difficult for a God.

  • @NWOSupporter2012 I've got some good advice for you. If you truly do want to know He's there and what He wants, Find yourself a place where no one will bother you and pray to Him, with humility, and with a heart that yearns for truth. Pray for as little as 10 minutes. The next day, do the same, the next day the same, etc.

  • @NWOSupporter2012 I guarantee you, He will show up sooner or later. Just remember, the pre-existing condition has to be a heart that desperately wants to know Him. And by the way, He's not a religion, or a denomination. First put all your mental energies into finding Him, and when you do find Him, I can also guarantee you He won't lead you astray. Peace.

  • You need scientific evidence of God, not just philosophical arguments for God. God, actually contradicts, science laws, and it makes it illogical to believe in it,because to say that God exist, then you are saying it is possible, to break the known laws of the universe, for which the foundation of the universe stands, and the reality of all matter, and energy require in order to exist, and without them, its impossible to have order, and existence.

  • @NWOSupporter2012 no sweetie, we don't believe in a God that is restricted to the laws of our universe, because we believe He invented said universe. Just like I can write a creative writing story in which the characters are beings that have their legs fused together and have to wriggle around like snakes in order to get somewhere. Doesn't mean that now I'm breaking the laws of the universe because I'm able to walk and jump and run. God's outside the universe, hun. Different from us.

  • This guy is reading of some board...pull the tapeworm out of your ass. This guy is lost in his own knowledge.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • You believe in mythology.

Just a bunch of words? Ohhh, like the Bible.

  • ا

    Wow... laughable video. x

Christians are right because the bible said you'd get mocked for what you believe?? x

You know who else gets mocked? x

    WRONG PEOPLE. x

Get it? LOL (in other words, YOU. DUH) x

  • Straw men and stereotypes. I don't recognize your caricature in most of the atheists I know.

I'm not a Christian because the concept of a being that would torture someone for infinity for a finite crime is too monstrous to support. I'm not a believer because I realized that there was no evidence for god.

I'm glad there is not a deity who murdered babies, condoned slavery and perpetuated misogyny. It would be immoral to worship such a god just to save one's own skin.

  • Matt Slick, I am disappointed in you. Very, very disappointed. I expected a much more adult and intellectual approach to why you think atheists cannot find god.

Your basic argument is that atheists refuse to listen to evidence and try to snipe it down every time religious people present any to avoid believing in God. To paraphrase you: "Sorry, Matt, that's not how it works."

The burden of proof is on the one making the claim (the theists). If those claims fail, then present better ones.

  • I've been to online Christian communities, and actually engaged in friendly debate with Christians in real life, and been insulted and attacked because of my views. For every reasonable, level-headed person in a group there will be 5 hot-tempered brash people that rob the group of its credibility.

  • Sadly, that's true. One thing I wish everyone understood is that not everyone who calls themselves a Christian actually is one. Merely believing in God, going to church and/or praying makes someone a Christian. It's living out the lifestyle of one. Well known Godly men have said that only 2.5 - 5% of those professing Christ truly are saved. When a life is examined by the tests in 1 John, I don't doubt this is true at all. The question isn't, "Do you know God?" It's, "Does God know you?"

  • Not all Atheists can be judged the same. Take TheAmazingAtheist..I dont think he is the role model for ALL Atheists. Same thing for those under the banner of Christianity. Its all over the place. Jesus Christ personally come to you with different approach than many true or false Christians. Sometimes you may see a Christian who stays within the Moral Framework of Jesus Christ. Many are simply playing church. Tasting rather than eating and drinking..SO on both sides we find Imperfect people.

  • Also, of course people can be measured as well. This is the basis for psychology. Why is god denying us knowledge of his own psyche?

If an atheist had seen someone rise from his grave, he would try and explain it in a secular context, rather than instantly declaring him part of a tripartite god whose ass we are morally obligated to kiss

  • "Atheists call us idiots and say that we believe in mythology. This is to be expected from such godless ostritches. After all, this was predicted in a poem written by the demiurge. Thus, this is further proof that the demiurge is real. The demiurge doesn't have to prove to pathetic human worms that he exists to prove that he exists. "

This is too disturbing, bizarre stuff to really listen any further to. It's the same "right through might" stuff you might find in a fascist regime.

  • Silly. If my door would mold into a floating head and I wound up suddenly whisked to the palace of the alleged Immortal Wizard that murdered the amalekite babies, I would probably at least believe that some sort of supernatural entity exists, though I probably wouldn't worship as a perfect god because the evidence indicates that he's more along the lines of an egotistical demiurge

However, apologists somehow think that anyone who relies on evidence to verify a claim is blind and wrong

  • I do hope you realise that this video is pretty much a visual example of the article 'Mistakes Christians make when dialoguing with atheists' on the CARM website.

I'd at least have though you lot could be consistent, instead of making a series of suggests on debate and then ignoring them in this video.

  • New York is an apple. Here is the fact = ##$()'#$. Jesus commanded you to believe once someone shows you facts. Now you believe New York is an apple... unless Matt Slick is an idiot of course.

  • Religious apologists can never win. Belief in something without sufficient evidence is non-logical. They always wind up having to try to convince atheists that the atheists must prove the nonexistence of god. Well, it's almost impossible to prove a negative, and the apologists know this. That's why in all logical systems it's up to the proponents of a theory to prove it true, not posit it and expect everyone else to prove it false.

  • Up until I was 11 I was a catholic. Then I began to learn what the stood for and then I realized that it didn't make sense. So I "had" god. So much for "not looking". You start by ironically attacking atheists about attacking believers of god. But have you read the comments on your videos? The believers attack the atheists just as much! I'm writing this not as an atheist but an agnostic. You can't even convince a non-atheist. So much for your "evidence". Reply. Prove me wrong. I know you won't.

  • @zage513

No actually, if you look at the videos, it's the Athiests attacking the Christians.

  • @zage513 So what if you see believers attacking Atheists, why the anger? Christianity is based on who Jesus was, not what some Christian did in error.

    2. I see more atheists spread pejoratives on these videos, i may have seen a couple of christians on my 2 months looking at all these videos.

  • @zage513 As a Christian, its sad to find out that other Christians are attacking the Atheist with insults, as well. Sadly, each party is just trying to win an argument. Nevertheless, to answer your question. I will ask you a question? Why should the God of the universe? the creator, belittle himself by answering to the whims of his creation? Rather, isn't it the job of the creation to find God, based on God's terms.

  • okay fine..i will believe in god..a god that created everything "good"..then he turned his face..then all of a sudden things went "wrong".so god decides to drown the world..maybe this way things will be.."better"..then after..things kept going wrong..these things really angered god almighty!shame on us..oh..lets not forget about the unicorns, talking snake, magical tree, man living in a fish, stick turning into a snake, water turning into wine, women turning into sand,..yes..very logical book indeed

  • I looked for god when younger. Then I grew out of that phase. What Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus etc find hard to believe is that people can live their lives without believing in god(s) and structuring their lives around religion.

  • "Why did jesus appear and grant Tomas's request?"

Maybe because it's in the Bible? In Lord of the Rings, Gandalf appears after death as White, and if there was verse like "show me Gandalf lives" then X sees Gandalf, that doesn't convince anything about LOTR being true. Why can't Jesus just appear on everyone? Because magic happens only in story books.

  • Trying to avoid 'god'? Strawman.

Am I trying to avoid fairies too? I don't go searching for fairies either, because the evidence base is zero, after much seraching.

Well there are 1000s of concepts of god, and votaries of different religions are convinced about their own gods. The ones you ignore. Which just makes you a hypocrite.

The cosmological argument talks about a 'first cause' - nothing about a superintelligent supernatural being. Even if it was a valid argument.

  • Now I understand why I've heard statements about his flawed logics.

Cosmology and TAG are no evidence. As much as Christians would like it.

Like god will snap to attention when hit with prayers?

What? He says atheists will say this and that and atheists are like this and that and then does exactly he accuses atheists of.

    Citing Bible verses always helps

So what are the requirements of a Christian? Just a security blanket and an imaginary friend?

  • Matt's references to Thomas are examples of presuppositions. It's a shame that no one gets past their own presuppositions and actually listen to what he's saying! CASES IN POINT! Keep up the good work Matt!

  • you've made a lot of claims about atheism here, but as one who has been both a christian and an atheist, I would like you to consider that you have not fully understood why people do not believe in god or gods. It is because there is a lack of physical evidence. You may point to the bible as evidence, but do you accept that the Koran is evidence for mohammed and the claims made therein? Is it arrogance or hard-heartedness that makes you reject Islam? Of course not,

    Why do you reject Islam?

  • Tell Christians to troll Atheist chatrooms, way to go Matt Slick!

Who would expect any other response from them, or any other chatroom?

This just shows how blind with arrogance some idiot Christians are.

  • As a life long athiest I think you did a pretty good job getting my attention in the first 2 min. But then you started spewing to much bible bullshit and made yourself look foolish. You bible is nothing but ancient scribblings. Is it really that much to ask for god or jesus to give us just a tiny piece of evidence of their exsistance? More then a man written paper back book is requried for me to belive in the god you speak of or anything close to it.

  • @DjetGlea you do know that there are non-biblical evidence of Jesus an the truth that's in the bible right....you're never gonna find what you are looking for with a bias state of mind, you gotta examine both sides bro

  • Woman came from the rib of a man? i don't think so.

  • stereotypes work in both directions you know...

  • God is a "person" ? lol. God has a sex ? God is his own father ? Why is it that the bible and concepts of christianity are plagiarised from older religious books and religions ? Why does the almighty need our approval ?

  • All your points in the video is true for Atheist AND for Theist. What do you think happens when a Atheist go to a Theist forum and say "god don't exist because...".

My point: stop trolling, all of us!

  • Wait a second. Jesus has the courtesy to reveal himself to Thomas: who personally knew Jesus when he was alive, heard the news of his crucifixion, heard firsthand eyewitness testimony from friends untainted by councils and translations and error.

But today's doubters have to believe based on inaccurate, contradictory, and unrealistic texts, and arguments like "well this had to get here somehow, so you have to believe that a Middle Eastern man who was executed two millenniums ago did it." Fair.

  • Correction, a story in the bible tells of Thomas's skepticism. The bible, the Koran and other scripture are not historical documents. None of the stories in the bible were written by objective observers or corroborated by any other sources.

  • @kamijk I know right. This man seems inane.
