Don't threaten businesses with more taxes. Quit giving people everything they need for doing nothing. Quit regulating everything so much that it is hard to start a business. Quit promoting entitlement mentality. Let capitalism work. There are jobs out there but people won't take them because they are not in their field, they don't pay enough and the don't have to take them to eat.
Fuzzy logic is: Cut jobs and lower pay to save money. Logical thinking is to make basic medical and dental paid with taxes and available to everyone. Free college and tech schools. in wage at $15 a hour and increases 50 cents each year. If people have full time ,well paid jobs, health care and reasonable housing, they would feel secure enough to spend money and buy homes. The countries economics would expand and grow. Plus get out of all the useless wars we are in and go for non-oil energy.
Most of us are one pay check from being homeless. We have the slave mentality. If a boss offered a one bedroom apt, clothing and 3 meals a day, but no pay check many people would take it. Even if we were required to work 6 days a week 14 hour shifts. That is how desperate we are. The corporate heads make millions and the workers get poverty pay.
We are in an employer's market. Very few jobs and to many unemployed. Supply versus demand. Jobs pay less today than they did 10 years ago. One person does 3 peoples job for less pay. France would never put up with such treatment. As Americans we are soft and desperate. We do as we are told and shut up.
@RayWilliamJohanson, You are very wrong. This is what the Republicans want you to believe, but the Libertarians and Republicans only speak and work for the corporations and Wall st. Tycoons. They will never work for the working class or the poor. You have bought into the lie. Shame on you! Democrats try to keep something to help our working families, our poor and our environment. Republicans only care about helping the fat cats, big oil, Wall St. and the multi-national corporations.
@mrstonig Don't confuse Libertarians with Conservative republicans. They are not one and the same. I like Libertarian ideas even though I'm a Liberal. For ex. Dr. Ron Paul is a honest Libertarian and a true patriot. He is not in favor of the rich or big oil or wall st. Also their concept of small govt is a noble idea.
Mr. Smiley, I totally agree with you. It is best that leadership creates better economic environments and opportunities for the poor than just giving them a handout. However, this is unlikely for the foreseeable future when we politicize everything that government does.
I stop voting because the last time I voted for a presidental candidate he promise to bring our soldiers home from the middle east. I stop believing in the system now. I have always been poor and probably always will be. I am trying my best to keep my head up when times are tough weither it be finanical or family issues the only thing you can do is help yourself out before you can help anyone else. If anything it's time for the wealthy people to take a stand for the poor but they don't care.
@ernesdee2o916 Why do you think the rich will take affirmative action ? They have no intention to do so. Some do charity honestly, others do it just to show off among their social circles. This is exactly the reason FDR created the new Deal by raising taxes for the rich.
@Persiandude933 In God / Nature's definition there is no such thing as rich, poverty, homelessness, hunger because no body owns the land and the food that grows naturally on trees/plants. Basically we live like animals and birds. Do animals and birds have this problem of rich and poor, homelessness ?
What hurts me the most is that President Obama lived in poverty as a child. He watched his mother die in poverty because of the medical costs of cancer.
teaching poor people is better than wasting tax. teach people. everyone has the ability to work and develop their talents. human resource is more important than economy.
Republicans are refusing to vote to raise the debt ceiling unless they can also pass massive cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, student aid, and other important programs that create opportunity and protect the most vulnerable among us.
Why on earth, those 750.000 or more homeless Americans live on the streets of USA. They should have worked in the agricultural sector in California, Georgia etc. Illegal immigrants work in those areas in the ascertained states.
@abdullahhakan1 I guess they don't know where to go and look for that job. Many of the poor are disabled and hence can't work. I bet some don't even know about food stamps and medicaid.
@Twostones00 Because they believe the poor is not them but any other groups. The working class conservative voter thinks its Niggers Liberal whites, lazy White Thrash, Gays, Immigrants, are the ones bringing this country down and not their own prejudices. Its like those hoarders telling people to respect their thrash even though it looks smell and is thrash.
@Twostones00 Whites in America have for 50 years at least, voted against their own best interests. Today poor whites vote Republican because it is still seen since 1968, as the party of whites.

@RayWilliamJohansen Not true. Capital does not create jobs, Demand creates jobs. What you said is a political talking point. I submit that if what you said is true, we would be in a hiring frenzy due to all the cash the rich have been raking in over this decade.
@KhamusSolo Well said, if only our politicians could understand this truth, this country would be far better off. Some politicians are innocently blind and some are purposely blind to this truth.

1.) Overhaul the entire tax system
2.) Abolish the Federal Reserve and force Congress to perform it's intended function.
3.) Legalize cannabis / hemp, reducing the drug war costs and increasing revenue.
4.) Introduce term limits, campaign reform, and retroactively abolish the ridiculous perks that they have "entitled" themselves to.
