Tidbit Time: When the Fabs hit NYC in '64 for 3 Sullivan Sun. nite shows - unheard of at the time - Fred Hall of Rickenbacker arranged meeting @ Plaza Hotel and gave Harrison THE 1st 12 string Ricky, AND gave John the 325 Rick which let John put to rest his 1st Rick. The Miami Sullivan show shows John playing the new 325. On vinyl the FIRST songs with 12 string Ricky incl. My big sis went to their convert in St Louis MO, and said that it was ridiculous how the girls were acting - screaming and fainting when the Beatles would hit certain notes or scream in a song. She loved them but wanted to hear the group play, it was hard over all the screaming and carrying on. Later, she got close to the limo in the parking lot and got a better look at them. @MisterDanceMachine The reason it is so slow is that in order to not see flicker on the TV monitors, which in England show 25 frames per second, they sped the cameras up from 24fps to 25fps. So when it gets played back at the 24fps movie speed, it runs 4% slow.

naaah, even more on paperback writer, probably because i always like tomorrow never knows much more than rain, but rain rythm section is legendary, i mean they palyed those basssline and drumming at 40% more speed, then slowed it down for the effect, pauls thumb must have smoked after that session, but writer also got a HUGE bassline + legendary riff and the harmonys are top notch

In 1997 AMC premiered a restored version of AHDN with the original full screen ratio and a restored mono mix. I taped it and couldn't watch it till later. It was a nice surprise to see "You Can't Do That" in it because it wasn't on my old copy. According to Amazon, "the AMC version is considered by most to be the definitive version." Not only does it sound great but it's also er... "very clean."

The film clip you are seeing was from "A Hard Days Night" film, but this was later cut from the movie and not used. John wrote this song completely and also played the lead guitar part too.
