just buy a strat (usa) 2011 hss...... less confusion and all the tones. oh, much sustain. and no noise. god, that buzz just gets under my skin. nice body though.
japanese you say?reckon thats what mine is - not fancy enough for a usa one and its a bolt neck! and a fixed bridge.but does have the cool headstock logo
i too was unhappy with the boring 3 knobs and a switch .now its got.
3 humbuckers, 3 vols 1 tone,
2 mini switches per pickup 1)on/off/reverse phase and 2) paralell/tap/series
thats 6 and 1 killswitch!
bought a 12 way rotary too but not fitted it yet. was gonna put 11 different caps on it.
@blackjerryboymetal Those odder shaped BCRs are just not typically carried. We had a Dan and Cindy's in Osseo Minnesota that carried USA Handmades but was a Real small store! I recall an Ironbird on their wall. I bought my Bich at B Sharp Music in Minneapolis a number of years ago, 10 +!
@blackjerryboymetal The more mini-pots, the better...at least on a BC Rich, you want a NEAL MOSER loaded electronic cavity! He was hired to do the electronics end of BCR 70s guitars and only left the company in 1985
By "tap" control, the "splitters" give humbuckers single coil qualities by spliting the humbucking sections to seperate coils, you can only do that one time, per pickup, Phase and out of phase options, very minor in overall sound. The Chicken head controls on a BC Rich are typically Neal Moser's variation of Gibson's own VariTone. He calls it Veritone IIRC as well, the NJ series varies I think
isn't it like the slash bc rich only diffrent color ? sorry if i said something crappy , i don't know that well the slash bc rich , but it kinda looks the same.anyway , great guitar.great job:D
@tkmafkng Ignore my other comment, I assumed it was a USA since it's got the USA style neck. That's most interesting if it was Japanese copy but not Negoya import series
nice guitar. I know that bc rich now makes their ST mockingbird with these switches except for the circuits switch. Is this where you took the idea to modify it like this?
This guitar is wired quite differently from the ST. The other obvious difference appart from the 2 circuits is that the ST uses the rotary knob as varitone instead of switching between the neck pickup options - which is kind of cool to tell you the truth..
To tkmmafkng : what exactly did you dislike about the mock ST, I was thinking about buying one, but was turned off by the thick neck and short scale length.
quick question, when you show the 250k master tone, im presuming it because you have used a 250k pot. If so where is the tone control for youre 500k circuit?
There's no tone for 500k circuit. I do not use tone so much time when the guitar has humbucking pickup and there were only 3 knobs so I chose 1 master volume for 500k, 1 master volume for 250k and 1 master tone for only 250k.
Single coil pickups should have tone to make the peaky high tone low.
If the rear humbucker has too much high, phase out is available.
love this one to... just wondering since you playing some hendrix if you could upload some covers there, when i start uploading covers i wanna do covers of all my favorite bands.... not mostly one band like most ppl on the tube
