I knew I recognised this song when I first heard it in HMV but it took me at least an hour to realise that it was an Abba song I haven't heard forever
If interested; The first version of our Abba Tribute song "Hey You Ring Me Tonight" - made up by around 15 Abba song titles is Free to download (together with artwork made by Abba cartoonist Hans Arnold R.I.P) at

If you have listen; hope you enjoy it. A video of the latest version is uploaded on Youtube
The best Abba cover versions are sung by Men rather than women. I think it is because most women cannot match Agnetha and fridas vocal ability. Check out Tommy Korberg singing 'The winner takes it all' or John Barrowman and Daniel Boys singing the chess song ' I know him so well'
Just discovered the Czars today...alas too late...I work in the media - if only ordinary punters knew how rigged the music business is against new and original music..it's becoming more difficult than ever to make your voice/sound heard above the mass of meida on Youtube etc...and so little new music can get played on TV in the UK its a crime....others we have loved and lost without fame...The Pale Fountains, The Chameleons, Love & Money......
Brilliant. Very focused and sentimental lead singing. Great vocal arrangement. I´m stunned. Wonderful, wonderful cover of this underetimated song. Keep it up. Cheers. André :-)
I have been astonished by this incredible version of "Angeleyes". I could never have thought that it was possible to convey this song as a revelation of male love. Unrivalled and marvellous. Thank you for sharing.
The album (Sorry I Made You Cry) is entirely covers and I recommend it. I especially like the cover of the classic "Where the Boys Are." It gives the song a whole new dimension.
who said his voice was like morrissey's??? good god, do you actually know morrissey??? completely different! each one has his own tone. very very distant from each other! of course I like them all.
I am wrong? Ok, so let me be wrong. That's why we live in democracy. Each ones has the right to have an opinion. I don't think he sounds like morrissey, that's all.
@dopplesoldners Actually if you listen closely, the word "girl" in the line "...where I saw him together with a young girl" is changed to "boy" in this cover.
So, the song is sung in a gay context. This cover is still amazing though!
this song is amazing! i had been trying to find it for years after one of my friends let me listen to it at her house---thanks for posting it on youtube :)
Really a bittersweet cover for a song with a great touch of which I'm proud: it's a shame that the song wasn't in Mamma Mia, along with "Genetic Test", the song that ABBA rejected from me in 1973 back when I was still writing songs for them; yet, they used the song as most of the plot for Mamma Mia. At least you can check out the song on my YouTube page.
Hah -so ABBA rejected songs from you? 1973? Witty :) -the swedish band who wrote all their songs themselves, rejected a song by you some 35 years ago? Do you get any attention with these pranks? "..still writing songs for them"?? 1973??? hmmm -knowing all their recording sessions from back then, I am amused -have you listened to their 1973 stuff? Neil Sedaka wrote lyrics for "Ring Ring" -and your songs were...? Bahh -humbug!!
i love how they changed the sex of the narrator but not of the subject....

@discogareth The Czars also cover Connie's multi-million seller Where The Boys Are. Agnetha modeled herself after Connie.

Love the vocal harmonization, and the fact that it's just acoustic guitars adds to the strength of this song.

The singer is gay. Listen to the words - he changes the gender from the original.
nocturnalme67 2 years ago
@nocturnalme67 You mean he doesn't change the gender. Abba's singers were female.

I love when ABBA is covered acoustically. It shows the versatility of the music and the lyrics that they produced.

Ain't it? They took a poppy, upbeat disco tune and made a beautiful folksy song out of it. One of my all-time favorites.

@CoverLounge most ABBA songs are folk songs.
