  • Queen of Sheba, the Spice Trade and Frankincense Points to Yemen in the Southwest Arabian Peninsula and the small area of Northeast Africa.

The Empire was a large territory.

  • Many areas throughout Northeast Africa and Southwest Asia where the Biblical Frankincense was grown has gone extinct.

There are only rare places where the authentic Biblical Frankincense is still grown today.

  • The common Old Testament Biblical used Frankincense in ancient times was also exported from Somalia and northeast Africa to Egypt and the Middle East.

  • good

  • hey Frankincense wasnt only traded in Arabia you know... india, Easy Africa and East Asia got the trade too ....lol just killed the name of the show

  • ummm this is just the first episode in a series... hence the "episode 1", with the countries for the episode after it.

  • @MrBOX0MAN The best quality of the Biblical Frankincense is still found in Oman which was part of Yemen Kingdom. The non Mountainous region.

  • @MrBOX0MAN Yes different types and colors of Frankincense was grown and traded from East Africa to India but the rare Biblical Frankincense is only still found in the Southeast Arabian peninsula today.

  • i hope to have a job like hers in 10 years time :) yeahh what an inspiration!

  • yeah lets be honest though, although many are forward thinking like al-waleed, they are proper religious fascists, and she did cover her head btw

  • she semi covered her face and moaned about it.

My sister lives in the middle east and if she behaved the way Kate did she would be locked up. The saudi government extended access to her and could have refused. I am not a supporter of saudi but i also do not have any business on how they wish their people to conduct themselves

  • So I was right. You argue for "looking the other way" when a country commits human rights abuses (as long as they say that it's in their culture to abuse others hey). Well thank God that most of the world's inhabitants have a conscience and the courage to stand up to those that wish to abuse our fellow brothers and sisters. We changed South Africa's discriminatory, human rights abusing policies - we will change Saudi's by the same method. Open criticism and pressure. It's immoral not to.

  • hahaha by your own admission then you believe South Africa under Apartheid should have had the right to continue on it's merry way! hahaha I'm done with you.

  • I'm not sure what, specifically is wrong with you, but I am sure it's no small thing. Much has changed in Africa. They now work towards a system of equal rights and opportunities, which they were not under apartheid. Legal change has already been accomplished. Societal change takes longer, but guess what dickhead - doesn't happen at all if they don't commit to the attempt. I agree with that guy owningyo". You do think racism and discrimination is ok. Don't comment back to me. I'm black and proud

  • "I'm black and proud "

lose the chip m8 and take a chillpill

  • I'm not your "m8" (how old are you) as if I would take a person who tolerates discrimination and racism as a friend. I am black and proud and I told you not to reply now don't. Go get some professional help. You need it.

  • Wow, "outspoken views" I turned this off because she did not denounce this immoral, monkey backward country's human rights adherence to anything like the extent she was morally obligated to. Women aren't even granted the right to vote! This is not a matter of respecting a different countries culture and way of doing things. They are committing crimes against human rights (as per UDHR and Geneva). You argue for Political Correctness gone mad... opened your mind so far your brain fell out.

  • they could have stopped her visiting

she was making a tv program on frankinsence NOT who get's human rights

she should have made her program and covered her head without complaint and abided by that countries rules.

We all know how saudi operates and they are generally given a wide berth and not interfered with.

She should have just bit her tongue, made the program and thus shown professionalism

    She acted like a twat.

  • You actually sound as if you respect their right to make determinations on human rights for themselves. If they want genocide or discrimination they should go for it. "Human rights" in itself is a viciously culturally insensitive term. Those detailed by the UN as "universal" should be termed "human privileges". It's disgusting we push our determination of these on other countries as we did to South Africa's racist regime (exactly as immoral as Saudi discriminating based on sex or religion).

  • She made a program on the trade in the region and in so doing was confronted at every turn with glaring human rights abuses. They should have been denounced as such instead of her labelling them "the culture". Journalistic professionalism includes a code of ethics, the European variant of which specifically notes the importance of supporting human rights. It was unethical and therefore also unprofessional of her not to note and denounce such rubbish. S Africa changed due to external pressure.

  • seems to me this program was purely about finding out how poor human rights are in saudia arabia.

maybe they should not let news teams back in imo or if they let people in then concentrate on the programmes subject and not interefere or make an opinion

  • If it was then I commend it. Human rights are human rights. We should be standing up to any country abusing the rights of our brothers and sisters. South Africa claimed religious and cultural reasons for abusing the human rights of the blacks in that country. We criticised, condemned, ostracised and sanctioned them into correcting that sad state of affairs. Exactly as sad as modern day Saudi. No vote for women, execution for changing religion from Islam, no rights for non muslims etc etc etc.

  • Saudi Arabia is a "Kingdom" which means we don't vote at all, not only women.

and the only religion changer i've heard of wasn't excuted but he was sent away from Saudi.

and Non muslims DO have rights !

  • i'm sorry my friend but you are the idiot ..

    b/c as I metioned before we DON'T vote .. we don't have elections at all .. it's a KINGDOM ..

have you ever heard of such a thing ???

  • You're an idiot. Saudi Arabia held municipal elections in 2005. Only men were allowed to vote.

  • i think the last part of ur name completely represents you!

  • hahaha look at all you monkeys thumbing me down and going to the trouble of insulting my... name? hahaha of course that really just confirms that you desperately wanted to challenge something I said but couldn't... not even a single point hey? Pathetic. Typical Muslims. Get back in your cave. Oh no hang on, you don't live in a cave hey Ali... I see you've chosen to escape one of the ROTTING, human rights abusing shitholes your kind creates to shelter in the West... wise choice.

  • I am not sure about apostasy, but its illegal to have political parties in Saudi, I doubt they have elections or vote for anything.
