  • this video was useful, until i took an arrow to the knee

  • »»───knee───►

  • This video help me with my pain. Cause i took an arrow to my knee

  • Pardon me for asking, if you have covered in this informative and helpful techniques, that I, in 20s, feeling low to moderate "strain" in my Right calf and knee "area" - mostly after jogging, but also sometimes during jogging, after 40 minutes or so.

In recent time, I haven't done legs weight training (though I do upper body training regularly). While there is no hint of such strain during normal knee movements like sitting, standing etc.

Could it be a result of jogging on an uneven track?

  • That is a young and cute doctor!

  • im 20 and i have knee pain, i have been trying to get ready for bootcamp but everytime i start to exercise i end up hurting myself. Right now it's my knee's i was using a forward exercise bike and ever since then my knees have been hurting (i did 45 min's at highest setting) since then it has been 2 weeks and there has been little to no progression in the knees, pain is located in the knee caps and top of shin,i do not believe this to be shin splints. does anyone know why im having this problem?

  • @loldudeno man im 20 and training for the army and have the same area in pain. just under knee cap/top of shin. im a fairly heavy set fella about 12 1/2 stone 13 stone, id say ur probably the same maybe heavier. i think my pain is due to me being fairly heavy and must have torn something down there or the joint just isn't able for the weight strain.

  • @IRELANDISMYCOUNTRY thats the thing though im pretty light in weight, i don't really go by stone but im 150 lbs so i really shouldn't be having problems like this, but if anyone knows whats wrong with IRELAND and i, please leave a helpful comment

  • @IRELANDISMYCOUNTRY oh right. well i think im gonna go to the doctor but he is just gonna give me diphine or something that wont work

  • This video is very informative. My pain is on the inner side of my left knee. Which exercises would be best for the inner ligament?

  • This is a very informative video. My pain is in the inner part of my left knee. What specific exercises should I do to stretch or strengthen the inner ligament?

  • Thank you

  • I am a dancer, I dance about 8 times a week. Maybe more. For the past year, whenever I do alot of dancing, my knee hurts really badly. I get a lot of swelling, and sometimes it just collapses. Any idea of what I can do? I'm not willing to give up my dancing. I usually just ice it, drink lots of water.. Or take a bath. What can I do?

  • i know this sounds weird but my knee doesn't hurt when i put pressure on it but when i'm walking it actually hurts on the "return"...does that make sense? the pain is on the inside of my knee (left side of my right knee) i'm totally perplexed...maybe you have an idea?

  • osgood schalatter 3 times here.... too much impact on my knees and tryed to strenghten all the muscles for a time and then started again but didn't even work guess i'll just sit behind comp all day -.-

  • i dont care about these names and terms, tell me how to fix it

  • That girls looks too young to be a doctor. She´s cute though.

  • My knee cracks & grind, even I'am seating down & lift my leg I can feel the grinding, specially going up the stairs is more pain. When I bang my knee on the cabinet my knee cap hurts for a while. I use to jog, now just ecleptical cardio, I tried to take it easy.

  • How do you know what muscle/s are causing the problem?

  • @polyopulis well where does it hurt you? depends

  • @Balkance under and around the patella, general runner's knee I think but i didn't get it from running, I got it from sitting cross legged too much or generally keeping the joint in flexion. However, stopping just prevented further injury, rather than fix the problem.

would it be possible to tell what muscle/s are causing the problem by measuring how flexible or strong they are in comparison to other muscles?

  • what does it mean if my knee cracks all the time?

  • @awsupernova

good question, i would like an answear that makes sense, not like my doc says: aslong it doesnt hurt, its ok...but my knees crack so loud that ppl hearing that get scared...no joke here:(

    Thank you for these informations

  • breaking down scar tissue with your hands? don't think thats right, more like breaking down adhesions. Scar tissue is collagen based and hard, if not impossible to breakdown with any form of hands on manual therapy.

  • good video

  • i am a serious skateboarder and tennis player. in feb. 09', my right knee started having pain under the knee cap and back of the knee after a snowboarding trip. then started cracking when i applied pressure on it and popping above the knee.. ive seen a doctor. a specialist, and a chiropractor. but none of the exercises they've given me have worked, it just gets worse. i'm scared that i'll never be able to skate again. the chiropractor said i probly have a meniscus problem. what should i do?

  • I believe that it is called meniscus not articular cartilage.

  • sweetttttttttttt

  • i need help please, i strained my knee before 2 months ago and went to my physical therapist to do some exercises, the doctor said that its definitely getting stronger but it hurts when i try to run, other than that, i have no pain at all. can some one tell me if i really have a serious injury or not?

  • @englishtoarab I have the same problem. What exercises are you doing?

  • @projwal basics like squads while standing and a biking etc.. they didnt really help me. i took an MRI and they found that i have a little tear in the meniscus

  • @englishtoarab Thanks, Are you getting a surgery. This sucks,I having this clicking noise in my knee as well. I don't think I will be running anytime soon. :(. Good luck.

  • @projwal yea if u have a little clicking noise in the knee, then u probably have a little tear in the meniscus but im not sure. as i was told from my doctor, the meniscus tear is not as dangerous as an ACL tear because the meniscus tear can heal by its self after a period of time. did you hear a pop when u got injured?

  • @englishtoarab thats good to hear. No I didn't hear a pop, but continued running even when it was hurting. I hope it heals soon. Good luck to you.

  • @projwal thank you and good luck to you too. dont try to run if it hurts because thats what my doctor told me since i have the same problem as yours and u might wanna take a rest and u will be all fine. for me, i will not make a surgery, i will wait until it the knee heals by it self

  • Very interesting information and relevant content. Thank you for sharing so much information!

  • hey doc, i torn my ACL n my MCL in both knees , wat can i do to help with the pain in my knees n the stiffness?

  • tina fey's little sister from jersey!

  • im a skateboarder who experiences knee pain would skateboarding stunt my growth if it causes knee pain

  • I twisted my knee playing hockey and now the BACK of my knee hurts on the outside. Anyone ever heard of this?

  • @konakick Hard to say....by now you've probably gotten it diagnosed. Ligament sprain, meniscus tear, muscle strain.

  • Heres the deal. im 17 and ive been running for like... nearly 6 months. I only get pain in my right knee but my left ankle hurts on occasion. I keep hearing the word arthritis but once again im 17. So its gotta be some kinda imbalance right?

  • my sister has had arthritis since she was 13, samlovemetal. but u could sstill be right.

  • ehhh... thanks for scaring me.

  • Samlovemetal, I'm no expert, but I would say that you probably have imbalances, yes, remember to increase the distance you're running and also your intensity. It is very important for the adaption of your joints and tissues. Also, maybe train in a gym your leg muscles and a very good thing you could do I would suggest is to use a balance board to get your ancle stronger.

  • what is a balance board? thanks..

  • And remember to have good shoes and get a running test at a shoe store so that you know which shoes fit your running style. I hope your pain will go away soon ;) but remember to gradually increase your distance, pace and everything for your tissue- and joint adaption.

  • @samlovemetal Where is the pain in your knee? Inside/outside? Front/back? Could be muscle weakness, leg length inequality. See a chiropractor that will do a gait analysis while you walk and run, and test muscles for weakness.

  • its on the inside and to the front. right where my actual kneecap is. I went out and bough a pair of 60$ running shoes about a month ago, and instead of running 6 days a week, i run monday and tuesday 3 miles, on wed i walk up a 12% incline for 2 miles, run again thurs fri, and break on the weekend. I think i had 2 problems. #1 i was pushing myself way too hard, and #2 my old shoes were terrible. I rarely get knee pain now.

  • unlikely you have arthritis. in younger runners see chondromalacia which is somewhat common....but honestly, it could just be over training since you're new to running, or bad shoes, bad form....most important thing is to listen to your body. if something hurts address it right away so that you don't make it worse.

you will learn a lot about aches and pains if you run too. that's all part of being an athlete.

  • really good and love the visuals.

  • Some great visuals and information. That exhibit was awesome, yet controversial.

  • Dr Abelson is awesome! He's also my chiro and an amazing Runner! I believe he is the ideal Dr for any sport unjuries related to running of Sport activities.

  • this has nothin to do with resolving knee pain, its about the causes. change ur misleading title

  • technically, you are right.. but.. I guess they wanted to attract those specific people attention who do not understand what is cause, and what is syndrome

  • i skate and evry time i bend my knee to do a trick i get pain y?

  • same

  • me too. whenever i try to ollie the moment i pop my knee KILLS. i got osgood schlatters

  • foam rollers hurt my quads. Why ?

  • Give it time, the foam roller is a great tool for releasing adhesions but it takes time. The pain will reduce with time.

  • wow

  • What does she say at 7:07 "we also give them ??? exercises"?

  • i think she said "foam roller"... those foam tubes ppl roll their hips on... they release the hip fascia i believe

  • Yes - she does say foam roller exercises....I do them frequently and they help a lot!
