@dankellylfc5 I contacted the club myself in 2005 and asked them to make immediate efforts to preserve the full telecast (from multiple angles, as recorded by Granada) because it was the best rendition of YNWA in the our history. I told them it would play well in the museum. The reply was disappointing. They gave me the brush off and said they didn't have the rights to the song (true but irrelevant) ...
@ynwa1963 I contacted them again on several occasions asking them to take action to retain this bit of history, and on each occasion my appeal to reason was dismissed out of hand. Granada will have scrubbed the additional tapes by now. The original transmission is possibly archived, but it was poorly edited, plus it was never shown in the UK. ITV cut to adverts instead. A shocking decision.
@ynwa1963 I should add, in reply to your observation 'the greatest night at anfield ever', it was the only occasion at a football match when the noise was so loud people actually felt a tingling sensation in their ear drum and were consequently rendered deaf for 10+ seconds! Supporters in my block all started looking at each other with a quizzical WTF look on their faces.
