  • i didn't know he is german

cool, pride for the germans i guess

  • so hans is a clutcher?

  • I thought Doug Stanhope was in the display picture.

  • this guy is amazing

  • GERMAN PERFECTION.

  • For some reason, this video has an air about it like it was filmed early in the morning.

  • He uses sampling, but he recorded it!

He recorded his samples in London with the synphony orchestra

  • hans loses all credibility to me because he uses sampling.

  • he use samples technologic?

  • Can't get on with Hans Zimmerman. Any of it. So it must be a question of taste

  • I converted from Catholicism to Hanszimmerism!

  • Gosh, I love his music! It became my own refuge from this world and my neighbours are now desperate, for all I do all night is play Pirates of the Caribbean!

And Kraken is one of the best scores I have ever heard!! Hans Zimmer is just a genius!!

  • What's the song playing right at the beginning?

  • i love hans zimmer, he's one of my favorite composers, along with danny elfman and john williams, pirates of the carribean is one of my favorite musical scores

  • this IS rainman

  • I love this man!

  • Love how he's wearing a TIntin shirt.

  • Rainman it is...

  • Are you Yoda?

  • lol that always kills me when Yoda does that! it drives me crazy.

  • I believe it's the soundtrack from Rainman.

  • What's the song that starts at 1:12?

    I MUST KNOW lol

  • so does anyone know?

  • Just sharing my live scoring sessions, original film music, upcoming film scores, and additional music.

    youtube/jermainestegall1

  • hans zimmer and Lalo Schifrin are my fav movie score musician

  • Yeah I dig the Enter The Dragon music, it's fuckin' cool!

  • Ennio Morricone

  • erm, that's exactly what makes him great.

  • he repeats some melodies on pirates 2 and king artur take a close look if i am wrong

  • wat language is he speaking? great vid 5/5

  • he's speaking german.

  • o thaks

  • @AwEsOmEXxXeRiC

didn't you know? Hans Zimmer comes from Germany.

  • Either it's Cubase SX or Nuendo, the most expensive and sophisticated sequencer software from Steinberg.

  • This isn't really the place, but I was wondering who did those great horns for the matrix. I'm still waiting till I have enough memory to use the quantum leap east west sample engines.

  • you really need to listen to more film music if you think Hans Zimmer is the best

  • well he has done a lot of great stuff.

  • Can anyone tell which sequencer program he's using?(2:03) And which keyboard he's using?

  • I'm pretty sure it's Cubase because of the look of the timecode window. Don't know about the master keyboard though. For partial confirmation, see Sound On Sound Oct 02.

Zimmer's home setup appears to be based around 10 networked PCs running GigaStudio with his own custom-recorded sample libraries and Emagic AMTS MIDI interfaces (MIDI can handle pretty long cable runs).

  • Why exactly would one have 10 networked PCs to run gigastudio? Cant you run it with one decent system to get the performance out of it needed?

    Thanks

  • because he uses vienna strings to map his orchestral arrangements

  • He does not use Vienna he doesn't like Vienna because the sampling is to dry. He has his own custom library that was created only for him and is used only by him!!! T

  • how do you know that?

  • He said it in an interview. He needs the natural reverb in his samples so that he can work with them.

He hates dry recordings because they seem so lifeless and anyone who has ever heard a real orchestra should agree that reverb is an essential part of what makes the magic happen.

  • concentrate on the music first. equipment obsession will bog your spirit. Oh, it's horrible the loathesome years spent on material conquest in my past. I think it takes substantial healing after having spent so much time pressuring myself into absorbing technical enlightenment. But that's just me, maybe I'm more fragile than many. Anyway, good luck with your music. Don't sell out.

  • HANS ZIMMER IST BESTE VON ALLEN! Und Fluch der Karibik das beste! Ich freu schon auf den dritten Teil!

  • Hans zimmer should be the man who composed the lord of the rings soundtrack

  • why? LOTR soundtrack was amazing

  • ahhhhhh! take that back!

  • all his music is the same! give me john barry any day

  • he rules

  • That music during the posters scene is from the movie "Rain Man".

  • Anyone knows from what movie is the music heard when there is a close-up on posters?

  • it is from Gladiator OST, one of the best pieces of his

  • msybe some can answer my question...there is a song about 10:39 sec long..it has a guitarist doing rock lead guitar behind his classical music..any idea who that is?

  • this guys a genius!

  • Absolutely. Beats bloody John Williams hands down.

  • Yes, I would rate Hans Zimmer as the 2nd greatest film composer of all time...after Ennio Morricone of course.

  • DU BIST DER GRÖßTE

  • This man is one of THE hugest musical masterminds!!! I adore him..!

  • LEGEND!!
