  • The message in this song is so clear. We don't need the makeup, the fashion, or money. All we need is love.

  • One of their best tracks in my opinion, from one of their most underrated albums... Love it!!

  • This Shame video has been blocked so Australians cannot view it!!!!!!!

  • this is really one of the highlight tracks on savage, and the video is simply captivating.

  • one of the best songs on 87 savage

  • one of my favorite albums"savage",so many great songs and video's.love you annie!

  • It's her eyes guys... she just has this gaze that will hit deep in your soul. When she sings ,"Shame!" ... i feel as if i did something i should feel shame for

  • One can be a slave to it, or shunned by it... or you can turn your back on it. Once again, Annie put her sweet voice to it and delivered. Testify, sister!

  • Such an underrated track. Wouldn't have looked out of place on their greatest hits album.

  • 8 people need an hearing aid......

  • @lalala020 they're probably listening to "friday", in which case giving them a hearing aid would be inhumane :P

  • Is she suppossed to be jesus?

  • My favourite song from SAVAGE and with so many great tracks to choose from.... Dave and Annie forever.

  • Yep, I still love this song, no matter how many listens

  • Adore this video, that light gray eyes are so pretty.. (like my Julia))

  • @otoleya You're right.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • shame on humanity with his destruction, none respect and uggyness and shame on u.

  • i love annie lennox.so glad this video is posted because it wasnt included on their video collection on dvd.

  • Still after all these years a presence that is just remarkable!

  • One of their best, most addictive songs!

  • Znalazłem w końcu...mistrzostwo świata.Dziękuje

  • I like this song, never heard it before now, but I like it :)

  • one of the best songs from Eurythmics, it's a Shame BMG never released this on a vhs/dvd compilation

  • what a greaaaaaaaaaat song!!!

  • It's so eerie, how accurate this song became in describing the twenty-first century.

  • This is so prophetic! Reality TV came and they poured their habits, addictions, perversions and other things nobody asked to see and they go on being "reality" stars...

    "Can't they feel the shame?!".

  • they're both gorgeous in this, and annie is stunning anyway, but dave looks hot in this [=

  • mesmerising

  • Okkibelli, amore mio

    Only we need is love

    Luiz

  • all we need is love.........

  • This was from Savage when they went back to the electronic style of Sweet Dreams - wonderful thanks for posting

  • Just another example why the 80's ruled.

  • I've never seen this one!

  • Dave sang back-up vocals on a number of Eurythmics songs and this is indeed one of them.

  • Always one of my favourite Eurythmics songs. Pity it wasn't a big success. This bitter-sweet style was what they did best

  • Pretty ironic that people are hung up on what Annie and Dave look like in this vid

  • Dave Stewart is singing with Annie in the chorus.

  • Amazing song...disterbing video. Rather uncomfortable how she uses an Orthodox icon in her video.

  • Keep in mind, Annie didn't come up with the idea for the video that I'm aware of, but Sophie Muller the director, did. :)

  • she looks so so so hot!

  • one of their best videos shame it was never included on their greatest hits/ultimate collection dvd

  • Thancs for sharing! This is a fantastics song and a fantastics video!

  • I'm addicted to this song. Is it wrong that I think Dave looks quite cute here? lol

  • Love this, they called out the celebrity culture years ago - the Savage album one of the best of the last 20 odd years.

  • One song that mades the 80's forever!

  • a really great song from them, i like how the adam and eve characters were involved...at least i suppose they were..

  • seigneur que annie est sexy!!!!!!!!

  • It was always a mistake -- and the cause of some discomfort to audiences -- to present Stewart as on an aesthetic par with Lennox. She's some kind of goddess, he's a hairy unattractive dude. Nevertheless, they were great together.

  • They were and still are great friends though, that just so happened to be in a band together, and that was part of the reason they were put on that same level, out of default. LOL

  • @maxgoesler thats just yr opinion u straight idiot! quit hating on men and grow some balls already lol

  • Hahaha I would marry her right away

  • Mother of all Tunes...i love this track

  • The funny thing with the song mentioning the Beatles and the Rolling Stones is that Dave is personal friends with Mick Jagger, and probably the other Stones, as well as Ringo Starr. LOL

  • this song is wonderful and fit for the time it came out, wonderful ear candy, awwa so so wonderful!!! it has that synthesized sound so 1980s. Gotta love it =)

    san jose, california

  • There was nothing tasteful about the 1980s, but pop music was less manufactured then and the record companies werent sure what pop videos were meant to be like so there was more scope for creativity.

Now they think they have the manufacture of the acts and the marketing of the music and visuals sussed ,

So it s all very mechanical, so it harder to find anything meaning full.

    But 80s tasteful on way.

  • Yeah in the 80's the music industry had to follow the artists. Now the music industry leads by marketing, and we have to put up with all the bland formula drivel they put out.

  • You can actually hear Dave singing in this one! Cool! :)

  • If you really listen...him "singing" is him lip-synching to Annie. Listen to her voice it is the same as when he appears to be singing.

  • Well I can hear a deeper, male voice in the background, that I am pretty sure is not Annie. But then I could be going deaf and what do I know? LOL

  • This is rapidly climbing my 'Best Songs Ever' list.

  • I like the way she sings: "And they said all we need is love." It shows the irony of it all, when right at the beginning of this mad consumerist brainwashing, the Beatles, who were part of the brainwashing, told us all we need is love.

  • I see first time this vid, I am puzzled, probably you have right with that consumerist stuff

  • Its such a shame that this song fell on deaf ears when it was released.

  • Oddly, this is my favorite Eurythmic song...something about it...i think it says something about self obsession, and ego. Yet, it's embrassing, while, saying shame, to a danceable beat. But, thats the Eurythmics...touching upon many emotions. I love it. Thank you.

  • Im not sue about the 80s being more tasteful, and the greed was worse then because it wasnt tempered by quality of life which didnt kick in until the 90s.

  • No. The 80s were not tasteful at all!

  • I agree. Looking back on the "stuff" of the 80's now, along with my memories from that decade, I find it weird because in some ways things were a lot more tasteful and less crass as it were, but in other things they were a LOT more "showing" than they are now.....

  • love for materialism

  • seigneur que annie lennox est belle!!!!!

  • The lyrics from this song are awesome! And sum up the 21st century as well as the 80s, only difference between the 80s and now is they had better taste back then. :)

  • Its about 1980s greed.

  • Poor sound - great, realy great, song :D Gonna post a better version one of these days...

  • professional makeup ?

  • I always wonder what this song and video are about?

  • they are sing about how we have given up love for materialism

  • Yeah I figured that was it. That we have all been taken in by consumerism and are all chasing an illusion. However, I think love is an illusion too.

  • Yeah the video is kind of weird. But that's how some of Eurythmics videos were.

  • DIVINE DIVA GEORGEUS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Truly one of their best....enjoy it before they remove it again

  • Annie rocks! I love this song - thanks for sharing :)!

  • There´s something about her face that just captivates... So much character!

  • Yep! And so much beauty. :)

  • Просто супер!

  • you with yer brand new shoes and you with yer greasy hair and you with yer mothers pride and poetry.

Oh don't you just love those lyrics when you're Scottish! mwah mwah mwah x

  • Exelente ! ; gracias desde argentina.

  • fabulous

  • What a Classic!

  • my fave song of theirs

  • Best song they ever made from the best album they ever made. It still sends shivers down my spine, as it did the first time I heard it almost 22 years ago...

  • Religious iconography, tabloid culture, and a chorus of "Shame." I still want to send them a thank you note, 20 years after he fact.

  • i saw annie at the peace one day too, she was beautiful and just...aw...she was annie!! perfection

  • this album (this song especially) applies more today than it did at the time it was released....pretty characteristic of eurythmics who really were ahead of their time/timeless. i look at music being released today and nothing picks up where they left off, its really sad.

  • This was one of their best videos and songs. Should have been included in their dvd releases.

  • Bugs me about "Savage" and it's NON DVD release. Great clip from the UNRELEASED DVD. Grrr..

  • these are one of the best bands ever..brilliant

  • you don't try to play Bunk................do you

  • Fantastic one of my best songs. 10/10

  • Best ever underated !

  • annie and dave; get back together...MAGICAL!

saw annie at royal albert hall last sun; breath-taking as ever..!

  • I just love this! wish I could be in Dave's arms!

  • iillll i love this song!! the synthesyser thingy is hellza tight, uplifting bittersweet song :) :)

  • OMG!!! This is my favorite song from the Savage album. I never knew there was a video. What a treasure to find!! One of the best duos of all time!!
