@elite953 Oh okay well you can go and listen to The Killers, and Kings of Leon. and talk about how they will never sell out....well at least in your heart. dipshit
@BromptonCocktail12 guitar sound? Yamaha SPX90 using the reverse reverb settings and a Fender guitar with a floating bridge tremolo [jazzmaster or jaguar]. at least that's how i did it when i was trying to copy the My Bloody Valentine swirling guitars sound.
@BromptonCocktail12 I think its just a lot of gain. I think. However one of the members, can't remember which one can build guitars to get their own custom sounds. So yh. Hope i helped.
Why do they not look drunk over the edge, as every valuable psych band should? Ahhhhhhhhhart studs definitely do not make my days, it's the stuff that does ...
i know this is gonna offend a lot of you, but are they playing badly on purpose? cos i'd swear they're not able to play their instruments. it's a shame as i was looking forward to liking the music after been given lots of good opinions about them. maybe i dont "get" them, sorry guys :(
@bobthelittlemonkey Yes that is true but the perspective is wrong. By this rational Steve Vai makes the best guitar driven music in the world which we all know is not true. You are arguing that Yanni is better then Nirvana. Its about emotion and texture, bullshit art terms I know, but there is truth to that. Andy Warhol couldn't paint. Sid Vicious rarely even play bass live. They are still influential and important to culture. That being said. They just might not do it for you.Thats cool
@loureedcool you do know sid vicious couldnt even play bass when he was alone, let alone in the studio or on stage? i have to say though, i love your broad generalisations there but i'm glad you agree with the sentiment of the original comment. i would like to point out that nirvana were all very talented musicians so your point is invalid. i'm not sure what emotion or texture the horrors are trying to convey, but i seriously can't see it
@bobthelittlemonkey .... and I know Sid vicious could play bass, there is only so many characters. I was not trying to start semantical hair splitting contest. I think you might have missed the overall point.
@loureedcool i must have missed the point. try stating your point instead of naming a load of bands. i have no idea how the horrors are either influential or important to culture, but then again maybe when i'm at wireless there might be some sort of clue there. thinking about it, maybe it's cos i'm pretty sorted so i don't have any reason to want to rebel or engage in counter-culture. also, i never said you said nirvana are bad, you were trying to compare them to classicaly trained musicians
@bobthelittlemonkey AAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!! This is a joke right. You don't really read that I compared Nirvana to classically trained musicians right? Please tell me you are drunk and not semi literate. The was the direct opposite of my point. Clearly this is over your head. Congratulation on being too well adjusted and mature for certain culture. If you think that is the main thrust and purpose for this bands existence, stop listening. Its all a little to complicated for you.
the horrors are the horrors. no joy division or any other band. stop comparing them. they're brilliant. there is no band that have had the same career as the horrors. they don't want to be know as 'the band that sounds like...' they want to be known as the horrors.
