I have a question about this procedure. Why did the anesthetic doctor, when showing us how to make the cut, make his slit in the opposite direction. His cut went vertical instead of horizontal.

I had a sore throat for 18 hours afterward.

The Emergency Physician, I work around said it's not always easy to visualize the vocal chords when blood or mucous is in the throat, which will usually be the case in someone not breathing.

Some of the guys were trying to act like the fact that I'm a woman paramedic is what was causing me to have difficulty visualizing the chords.

They shut up their mouths after Dr. C. said that..
