  • Strumming?

  • I was introduced to Gungor when he opened up for Crowder in Philly this fall. They're ground breaking and talented. I'm hooked and inspired.

  • I like that you are sharing God's music with us, and that you are teaching others something that was inspired by the Lord through you. Amen for the sharing and the body. I'm so grateful for this song, and the Lord our God.

  • where can i get the score for this so that i can learn to play the glockenspiel part??

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥

  • Wonderful! it's absolutely beautiful! Thank You, Shalom!

  • if only he didnn't side with Rob Bell :(

  • 1 Dislike? Must be Satan.

  • *correction I'm trying to find out what nylon acoustic/electric guitar he uses. (almost Like in this video). So far with no success. :/

  • @noreaction1 - Olson guitar

  • I'm trying to find out what nylon acoustic/electric guitar he uses. (Like in this video). So far with no success. :/

  • how do you do a drop d??

  • @Ysumguy new to guitar? :) just look it up on youtube, it's just a different way to tune your guitar, and it's really easy to do. i could explain, but theres tons of videos that will make more sense

  • @Ysumguy Tune your low E string down one whole step to D, it should resonate with your 4th or D string in standard tuning.

  • They played this song at camp and I absolutely fell in love with it. Keep up the good work!

  • perfect.

  • how beautiful of you to share your "tricks" so that we can attempt to recreate what God has given you through His holy Spirit. love you Gungor family! such hearts for people and such phenomenal musicians.

  • Does anyone know how to do the strumming pattern he does in the beginning like at the verses? It's kinda hard for me to do :p

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you, beautiful song, and chord instruction to boot, that's having my cake and eating it too!!!

  • the devil disliked this vid.. lol jk ;P

  • Thanks for sharing... Loved you concert in Langley BC Canada... Please come back.

  • tough song... haha.. well for a kid like me lol

  • you guys are genius! created in the image and likeness of God..all glory to the one who makes all things beautiful!

  • Wow...I love it!

  • Its a Jim Olson acoustic guitar.

  • It does work well Mike. Thanks for sharing everything with us.

    God Bless.

  • This is so awesome, thank you so much for this song. Not to mention that you teach how to play it!

  • Hey guys love the song and the How To here but I was wondering if you could go through it and help out a brother who's trying to learn it on the bass? My college praise band wants to play it and i'm trying to learn it....any help??

    thanks guys

  • This song makes me want to be a worship pastor...

  • i had to watch his fingers over and over, and i love this song but sir michael could take a guitar teaching class or two, :) but patience and a willingness to look at his left and right hand go very far!

  • Just saw him for the first time this weekend at a small show. Someone mentioned I should check out his wife. I'm blown away. It's beautiful to see 2 people so naturally and unpretentiously sharing their gift.

  • Oh no somebody accidently hit the dislike button, silly mouse, it must have clicked the wrong one. =]

  • ah, where can i buy a xylophone?? no luck

  • @musicgirl125 Might have better luck looking for a glockenspiel

  • @sdbcjuan isnt that a metalaphone?

  • @krutter9900 Calm down buddy. I never said he couldn't do it, I just said I didn't like it. Last time I checked, I'm allowed to have an opinion. And the fact that it's a worship song has NOTHING to do with it. I was just talking about how it sounds.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, how dare he put an augmented chord in a song about God, how dare he do anything that is different in a worship song. because worship songs MUST sound all the same, predictable and easy.

  • @krutter9900 are you serious? this song is so easy to follow...

  • @racer1495 I have to disagree. It stays a little truer to the sound. Idk though what chord would you think might make the sound a little more bearable?

  • @racer1495 (about the augmented note): It doesn't sound bad if your ear is in the context of the song. Yes, from a shallow perspective, the note sounds "wrong". But if you listen to it and its surroundings (what is before and after), you realize that it functions as something that gives another color and source of energy to the song right before the chorus starts. It's really just a mental thing.

  • @austinm08 I agree with austinm08, it sounds perfect with this song. Besides, why go the contemporary way with worship? Worship should be open to change, because personally I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE some of the old hymns, not for their lyrics, just their progressions and how they're so bland...

    Anyways, enough ranting. :D

  • best song on the album, Dry Bones is pretty wicked sweet too.

  • WOW! I've been involved in worship music since the 70s and all I can say is I'm an instant fan and I've never even heard of you guys until today. This is the way worship music should be... man expressing the purity of God through the purity of his art!

  • Message me for tab..won't let me post

  • @timholleyos18 Can you send me the tabs?

  • @timholleyos18 could you send me tabs?

  • @kpsebo could send me tabs too?

  • @itssuperjoey timholleyos18 hasnt sent me tabs yet =(

  • them both seem so sincere

  • ninoboy213...he plays a D nd then drops his pinky then at one point he changes to an a7 add7...

  • Anybody know where I can find printed tabs? I don't mean just the little chord letters above the lyrics, I want actual fingering tabs

  • ninoboy213...I think you may be talking about when he moves between the third fret on the second string to the second fret on the second string. Effectively, he goes from a D2 to an A\D - if that's the part to which you refer

  • Can someone please explain this to me better? The part where the girls sing is weird and I cant figure out what he's doing. He says its a D but there is something else he's doing

  • @ninoboy213 are you in drop D tunning

  • @desiredfx yes but when the girls sing you make me new you are making me new it doesn't sound like he's playing the D chord the whole time but I cant see his fingers :/

  • @ninoboy213

    Step 1) Close mouth/stop typing

Step 2) Open eyes + Watch intently

Step 3) Use pause/rewind with reckless abandon

Step 4) Use ears to listen

Result: You'll probably be 10x better at playing by ear, PLUS you'll have the confidence and skill of having figured it out instead of asking for it on proverbial silver platter.

Not that I'm trying to be a prick - It's all good to ask, but you should try it out first. Drop-D is pretty straight forward, even if you're newbie.

  • @juse1101

    1) I asked 2 months ago.

    2) I understand your not trying to be a prick but it still ticks me off.

    3) sorry I'm being a jerk but it's not a good day

  • @ninoboy213 Nah - You're not being a jerk. It's all good. And asking for help is a great start. But for real, it's straight forward. I remember learning my first song by ear/watching intently at a Third Day concert, and Mac Powell plays right-handed, so I had to mentally switch everything when I was screwing around at home trying to figure it out (Oh yeah...I watched the concert, THEN went home and tried on guitar). Welcome to learning "Em-C-G-D" by ear/sight with no chart.

  • @ninoboy213

We all have bad days - I'm just givin' you a hard time. But on the real, Gungor's song rocks, it's a good one to learn, and if you watch his fingers, you'll be able to figure it out quicker than asking keyboard theory-warriors on YouTube. Plus you'll be playing it in less time, and enjoying it more. That's all. :-)

  • Beautiful song you guys! I love the message and the harmony is wonderful. :)

  • mmmmmmmm Olson guitar. James Taylor, Brian Doerksen, Michael Gungor.

  • Amazing..just as most of Michael Gungor's songs are!

  • I love the song,

    it's very nice.

  • Awesome chords. Not the same ol' stuff!

  • Beautiful song. Lisa is lovely on the glockenspiel.

  • no way, you say Glockenspiel as well? It's german and means to 'play on bells' - that's funny :D

  • @sampide yes! We have another similar instrument called a xylophone, but I think the difference is that one is wooden.

  • @sampide haha yeah I do, it's awesome that you and sasabsabrina play it too! I play it at church occasionally, whenever the songs we play for worship warrant the tinkly gorgeousness of a glockenspiel.

It's great to know there are other people out there who play glockenspiel for worship! :D

  • em..., actually I don't. I was just amused that the term is used in the english-speaking parts of the world ;) It's nice that you use it, though.

  • A lot of times we just call them 'bells' though...
