It films in M2TS Format (AVCHD) you need to view it from the software you get from Sony, or Power DVD etc,you can film in SD mode just look at the menu though i am not sure why you would it is after all a HD Cam
Protip: You can use also free converters you find in google but the quality would not be the same as when you save it on the Sony PMB software that comes with it. Also its one of the best cams currently on the market . Also fuck yes night vision and underwater casing with attachable flashlight.
@MrJ2k8 You don't need software to view or transfer the footage. It's just copy and paste and windows media player will play it no worries! I know, i own one and work for Sony!
