Although I wasn't in NYC, I saw the live transmission. It was the most electrifying opera experience of my life. You cannot judge the production from this clip. Seach the NY Times for Tomasini's review and you'll see what I mean. IT WAS AMAZING

not good,although a British conductor his feel sounds wrong, where,s the drama. the chorus shout not sing and no production us such.

@jamesjmertins No production? Funny, because I'd generally fault the Met for too many fussy and over-designed productions where filling the stage with bric-a-brac is confused with design. Seriously, isn't it time to give Zeferelli's monstrously camp Verdi productions a rest?

awful...see covent garden this not an english village on hue and cry just opera...plump met chorus static without character screaming not singing and very badly conducted without any sense mounting tension.

aaah my favorite part. I saw this production live and everyone in audience had their breath held during this scene. love love love love love this opera!!!

Wow this sounds proud. This is horrible and very emotional opera. I have seen in in Finnish national opera some years a go. Do you know what are main soprano arias in this opera?
