  • Great job. Amaizing. Love GP !

  • God is gone. You are my Angels.Thank you!

  • I don't agree with coal but solar, hydro, and wind just cannot do the job. I'd say nuclear is the way to go for the near future but renewable energy should be increased!

  • Outstanding effort, folks. You didn't just sit around complaining like I do.

  • I can't even mention just how amazing this is.. i only have one question..

What's the name of the song that starts at 16:04 ? does anyone know? cheers

  • @droopyme1 All the music for the film was written by the brilliant Nick Laird Clewes.

  • Two years have passed.

CO2 levels have risen and so have global temps.

We are in ever deeper trouble.

My message to young people around the world:

If you take a look at climate science and get a grasp of what is at stake, you can only come to the conclusion that you have nothing to lose.

Let's get some balls and demand serious action on climate change. We are being slowly murdered. The Kingsnorth Six have shown us how we can exert our right to self-defense.

    Thank you KN6 and GP.

  • Great job Gp UK! Im glat to be part of this big family... :)

    /Activist Greenpeace Mediterranean -TURKEY

  • Nice Puppies

  • It is ironic of course that, if you wish to do away with coal-based power stations, your only alternative is nuclear, and yet that those who oppose coal-fire also oppose nuclear.

  • @DeepSixed300 that is utter rubbish.

The only figures that make that case are those published by non peer-reviewed, nuclear and coal financed.

Nuclear is extremely unsustainable,if you decide to deal with reality and take into account the basics - like waste.

And,of course, the coal & nuclear industry figures are always bolstered by the ongoing massive government subsidies and the current monopolies that will not last when they get some real competition.

  • @cinesimonj Nuclear is unsustainable in the long-term, of that we are in agreement. But no amount of existing renewable technology would be able to take up the slack.

  • Awesome action! Greit job Gp UK!

    /activist Greenpeace Nordic

  • 9 000 000 tons of CO ...thats insane ...great job guys :)

  • Thank you protester's

    and Nick Broomfield

    Keep up the good work

  • Fair play- well done!

  • Hello DENMARK. Take a look and let them free.

  • Excellent!!! Share it! Rate it! Comment it!!! If you liked it, make it a big deal.

  • Thank you for sharing, amazing movie...it's time for action...Totally agree!

  • Well done

  • i respect people fighting for a better planet and against animal abuse

    love y'all

  • no point doing anything.will never change.

  • just vandals it doesnt matter what the reason was

  • What is the meaning of "vandals"?

  • About which vandals you are talking?

  • great and moving!!! :)

  • NICK!! Please do more documentaries!

  • This movie moved me to tears. I cannot tell you how much I hope to one day stand beside other activists whether it's to defend the environment through Greenpeace or to fight against the inhumane treatment of animals through Farm Animals Movement or to defend the rights of gays, lesbians, transgendered through Gay Pride parades. One person can make a difference.

  • @VibekeV

    You idiot cry

  • Vandals? like in senseless destruction? please explain.

And what you call a disgrace should be honored.

Risking their health, risking punishment, doing this extreme exhausting job for no money but for a benefit they maybe not even have themselves.

  • Damage is not the same as destruction and it was not senseless.

And if we talk about costs what will the climate change cost the whole world? not only multiple of your thirty thousand per day but also human life's!

Btw standing up for the world is not stupid.

Please try to understand their motives and stop to insult them.

  • Well done. You're doing what so many people just talk about. Well Done!!!

  • I'd love to leave you on this dirty planet but unfortunately it's the only one for all of us.

  • 7:38 - newsreader needs a punch in the face. Utterly unprofessional and nasty.

  • Okbearful I totally agree with using renewable energy where we can but if your realistic nuclear power is the cleanest choice we ve got right now. oh and by the way, the planet will be fine however much we fuck it up.Life will continue long after we re gone. Yes lets not fuck the climate up. but stop being such a pathetic fucking hippy.

  • Nuclear power is not clean at all, that's just what they're telling you. Scientists who have worked in nuclear power stations have warned the operators for decades, yes decades and now they went to the public because the containers are corroding and the material is getting into the water, which means it can get anywhere. The fact that they even use material that can corrode shows you that they're complete idiots. You probably heard of Tjernobyl. This danger will remain for millenia.

  • I wonder how she got to paris..plane? Not putting what they did down but but hypocritical

  • Eurostar.

    It's a train.

They built a tunnel under the sea.

    Seriously.

    *Sigh*

  • did she say that?

  • No, but it's a bit obvious isn't it? And also I know her, and yes, she took the train.

  • Fair enough. I don't think its obvious nearly every climate conferences are held in one country where people all travel by plane.

  • Of course no one has woken up yet that trains pollute our atmosphere too, if they were really genuine about their concerns for the planet, and wanted to cut their pollution footprint to a minimum, they would have stayed at home and had a group conference call on the phone. Half the cost and almost no pollution as a result.

But that's not as much fun as gallivanting around the planet wasting resources and creating pollution is it?

"Lookit me, lookit meee.... I'm saving the planet for you".

  • But it seems that people are not willing to push viable solutions until we shut down, yes SHUT DOWN power stations. When will people wake up?

The flag was raised over 20 years ago - OUR PLANET IS DYING.

It's sad that people aren't going to sit up and take notice until it's too late - until it directly affects each and every one of our lives.

We DON'T NEED more power stations. We NEED to act and take responsibility.

  • If the solutions were really viable, you would not be able to stop industry adopting them, in fact they would be trying to steal the ideas off you.

So long as we want more comforts and are not willing to pay huge prices for our power, new power stations are the only option.

I'll guarantee you would be one of the first to complain if the cost of your power went up five or ten fold. that is the current cost of alternatives, not to mention the irregularity of supply with things like solar and wind

  • That is completely wrong. The first thing the industry does when it faces an alternative is buy it up and keep going as before. Whenever a new battery for electric cars comes up, it gets bought by the oil industry and they never produce it. Now you have millionaires left and right constantly coming up with their own electric cars, while we're being told it's not possible. It's been like that since the middle ages when Eastern invetions were hidden in Europe. That's what guilds were all about.

  • I suppose thats why the managers of big business make millions by disregarding good business sense.

If it were viable they would steal it if they could, they would not have to be asked to adopt this technology.

  • Perhaps YOU don't need more power stations, but unfortunately those in the world who use their brains, realise that the population is expanding and so is the need for power to support them.

I'd love to chart your power usage just for one day, I'd guarantee that you use as much as anyone, and living in UK, no doubt far more than the world average.

    Conservation starts at home.

  • MY HEROES !!! LOnG LIVE TO GREENPEACE !!!

I suggest the team, for the NOBEL prize !!!

    THX

    * * * * *

  • All these show ponies really do, is give genuine ecologists a bad name.

If they worked on some solutions rather than annoying people in industries who have as yet, no viable alternatives, they might achieve something.

People are not willing to shut down our power stations until we have viable, yes,... VIABLE alternatives.

Solar cells and wind turbines just don't cut the mustard yet, neither are people quite ready to pay triple or more, the price for their power.

    Damned dreamers,.......

  • very intresting film. very well put together.

  • what a bunch of numpites.

  • These amazing people have inspired me to consider a little direct action of my own. The power of these few individuals is greater than all the wealth of the power companies...imagine.

  • what direct action are you considering taking? im always up for something spontanious if you need a hand :)

  • You'll never do it... How many people talk about these things? How many of them actually do them?

  • im not looking for nay sayers im looking for people with balls.

  • Exactly. Which is why I doubt very highly you'll do it. Go ahead - prove me wrong. I doubt you'll even make a plan, let alone execute it.

  • ha ha alright mate

  • akinfeev

  • Green peace are really annoying

  • Lol calm down, what has the planet done to you? Apart from helping to create your miserable existence?

  • haha! high-five **

  • Absolutely wonderful :) Keep up the brilliant work :) I think you are brilliant

  • the standard quality on this video is remarkable. CODECS! NAOW!

  • Keep up the good work guys!! :)

  • That was great guys !!! BIG UP!!! Brilliant job!

  • great film. bravo! Power to the bold and brave. Times are changing, all aboard.

  • Total respect to these people!

  • I have to comment on this, think about it, who honestly cares the most about this subject in the world, the English. Who wants to affect this subject the most, the English, what is possibly the smallest country to take action, the English... we want to affect this, but the larger, more economically viable, mass pollution producing countries need to take note of this and take action first. its just pathetic

how is it we lead the chase!??

  • Well a good film and highlights the situation,if only more people stood up and voiced their concerns, too much apathy in this country, but very brave to go up there ,i could`nt! too high! respect great film lets have more ,people protest !as its our future and not the governments of this world.

  • get all the hippys on 1 coal powered station and maverick it

  • Do they really think that they can STOP climate change ??

Have they never studied the history of our planet ??

Cimate change is a natural occurance since time began. Renewable energy SHOULD be introduced, and IS being introduced...

Were we so environmentally friendly 1000 years ago ?, when people had to burn everything in sight, (deforrestation), in order to keep warm and cook...

In the end, the human race will not survive, it's just a matter of when and how..

  • Fantastic, great to see somebody is doing something!

  • This world is fucked and some people so deeply stuck in the matrix, most people know more about Peter and Katie Price than they do about the state of our planet , dead zones, oceans that could be stagnant soon, its time to wake up or our kids kids wont have any futures......

  • Good for Greenpeace. Yet again highlighting problems with our world. Much respect.

And shut up you idiots... Greenpeace do EVERYTHING they can before going as far as direct action. As mentioned: "It's always peacfull, it's never violent". Greenpeace have a very hard job bringing attention to these things.

    So glad they won!

  • lol, Damn Hippies!

  • So u don't mind burning to death?

  • I put 'lol' in front just to make sure everyone knew I was joking. Just to make sure...

  • Comment removed

  • you beauty's!!!!x what about your ground forces????

  • what do you make your videos on

  • Mr Gay saiz hai, lulz

  • Lot of respect for those guys!

  • hey! David Gilmour is performing the song ;)

  • brilliant video and great to see that the energy companies did not what they wanted by way of conviction. look forward to what Greenpeace plan to do next keep up the good work

    Paul

  • that's great. but we really need alternative sources of power like radioactive power, or HEP. climate change is bringing unhappiness to millions...these people are at least making a small difference.

  • Comment removed

  • The Green Party, perhaps? It's not Greenpeace, but their aims are along the same lines... but you can see how much popular support they get. I think the point of the video, backed up by history - is that small actions by a minority of people who really care does eventually make a difference

  • and not everyone wants to live a blinkered ignorant life either, you obviously just leave comments that are likely to annoy folk, I know Australia is boring as hell, but can't you find something else to do?

  • Yes,... I do practical things, like find ways of disposing of waste oil in an environmentally acceptable way, while also heating houses at very low cost. While you are out supporting serial pests who have never done anything productive in their lives other than get their faces on TV, look at me, look at me,... I'm saving the universe. (smirk) Feckin' Wankers.

Tell 'em to get a job f' christs sake, do something productive for once.

  • can't you just find a way of disposing of yourself?

maybe climb into one of your ovens?

  • What great wit. (smirk)

Well you can cry yourself to sleep knowing that I retired as a wealthy man when I was only a few years older than you are. All from the sale of just one of my hobby interests.

I have done more to save the environment and help those less fortunate than myself, than you will if you live a dozen lifetimes, and I've got wealthy while doing it. I'll bet that gets right up your nose. Ha ha. I'm just glad my taxes aren't paying your dole.

    See ya sucker!

  • its people like this that are gona save the earth

  • god dam hippies

  • actually, im pretty sure god wouldn't damn those trying to do good in this world, im pretty sure that if he exists hed damn all you pricks who think theres nothing wrong with destroying this earth.

  • a few minuets in i seem to forget how i got to this video,, hmm

  • The climbing girl had really sexy eyes. Does that make me superficial?? Still, it drew my attention to the coal fired power station issue so it can't be bad.

What's the Greenpeace stance on nuclear?

  • They used to be against but are now for.

  • I admire their courage and action, but I admire more, the country, which allows such actions to take place, UK +1....

  • About 7 minutes in, i realised "where did i get this video, i dont remember searching for it", but it was worth it, good video, well done.

  • hey keeron, why dont you shut the fuck up, and give me some pizza

  • I think the guy on a bike is a twat.

  • 4 failures who were looking for some attention. Now they are selling the story. Tell me what have they achieved. Apart becoming "heroes" in their neighborhoods and boosting their self esteem. I'll tell you - they are still managing to fool few teenagers and other suckers.

  • Well I think they are misguided but brave.

Power stations employ a local workforce and provide jobs for British People. LOTS OF JOBS.

Building and operating them provides this.

Greenpeace might talk a good plan, but the reality is going green will slaughter our workforce, especially with the large 60 million plus population we have.

The whole climate change (notice how it's changed from global warming) is a scam.

  • To put your view to the extreme: Nazi camps also provided German employment during WW2...does it justify the cause or not?

  • Why is it that nationalism seems to trigger some parrot fashion reference to Nazism from the left when national jobs for an indigenous population has worked since civilisation began.

Using a reference to one tiny point in history when history as a whole vindicates this is stupid.

  • I believe what you refer as 'a tiny point in history' has been voted as 20 most important things which changed our world. No one in his right mind would ignore the fact the impact of Nazism in the past century, which changed the face/structure/thinking of our world and will continue to be referred in the years to come. Besides, you are missing the point I was trying to make which simply is: employment dose not justify the s**t way to are treating our planet!

  • These idiots have no grip on reality they are quick to condemn, but offer no practical alternatives.

  • ozzirt: there are countless practical alternatives for renewable energy generation all the way through to more scientific ways of MAKING BETTER USE of the energy we currently squander - they just require 2 things that the State is pathologically terrified of investing: 1) open support of these new ideas and policies and 2) MONEY! At this time they are still more inclined to line their own pockets with public funds and 'buy' votes by promising never-to-be-seen tax cuts to the electorate.

  • You seem to conveniently forget one basic fact.

If these airy fairy ideas were even slightly practical, they would have been stolen and used by big business many years ago. That's why they are in business.

I agree that we can improve the way we do things, but we must develop the technology BEFORE we go throwing millions out of work running after some half baked ideas.

The idiots who support these vandals don't have to worry about losing their jobs, as 90% of the time they don't have one.

  • If one were to take the bible seriously one would go mad. But to take the bible seriously, one must be already mad.

  • You've got no argument from me on that point, I'm an avowed Atheist.

  • You've achieved more? What by buying a heater that runs on oil? Yeah massive achievement there...

Oh and my credibility is not effected in the slightest by my claims. If you didn't want people to know who you are, don't post videos of your grey self on the internet...

  • So you could identify me by the video eh?, pretty smart seeing you cant see me. I'm behind the camera you fool, Jacko will be upset when I tell him you reckon he's grey. Jumping to conclusions again.... you seem to always lead with your chin don't you That's one of my contributions to cleaning up the environment and reusing an otherwise waste product.

What's more it's development and licensing never cost tax payers a cent.

  • I do apologize, that may have been for someone else, so how about you just climb into your crappy oven and stay there til you done?

  • I think they have a total understanding reality, hence the action, they also have plenty of practical alternatives, check the greenpeace website for more info, before you call them idiots, you fucking idiot.

  • Seems like I hit a raw nerve there.

You see now, the truth is not always palatable, like many of the things we do to support our lifestyle. Not everyone wants to live like a filthy hippy activist.

    Go for it! haha.

  • yeah well your nearly 60 aren't you? Obviously nothing like this matters to you because you were the generation that built such buildings without thinking about the consequences. Its not you that will have to worry about climate change and the effects that will undoubtedly grow worse, so no wonder you have these bias thoughts about these people. I have much more respect for these people than you as you're an ignorant pensioner that can't piss without getting confused.

  • Go for it! You are effectively destroying your own credibility and those whom you support. People like you with your anarchistic aims and methods, effectively hold back legitimate research through lack of credibility.

I've probably achieved more in ten years than you will in a dozen lifetimes.

You have no idea how old I am, or who I am, as i never place relevant details about myself on the internet idiots like yourself can find them.

See where jumping to conclusions gets you

    Just typical

  • it says on your profile that you're 58.

    are you lying?

    Why are you lying?

  • As I stated in an earlier post, I NEVER place my true personal details on Internet sites. My real name is not Thomas Rizzo either. My occupation is 30 years out of date, but I was a seafarer early in my career.

The only thing that is close to correct is my Interests, as that is of little use to anyone trying to steal my identity.

    It's quite simple really

If you are really TH Keeling, you would be wise to do the same. Believe me identity theft does happen.

  • COooool

  • Fool them into what exactly? taking care of the world we live in? Isn't it 'Fools' like you who are 'misleading teenagers and other suckers' like yourself to just treat the world like shit?

You say they are only doing it to boost their self esteem but isn't that what you are doing with this post?

Im not no tree hugging hippie or anythin just get tired of reading dumb shit like this all the time on youtube. If they want to try and do some good then let em do so.

  • :-)

Oh, I forgot to mention - they achieved something else as well - they raised awareness of Greenpeace existence and most probably boosted the donations. Im sure this aim of their "environemental" campaign was achieved. It seems Greenpeace is quite good business. Why don't they stop cars in London? Probably not good for business.

Anyway they didn't conveyed any valuable awareness -all I know from the movie is - we climbed the chimney and it was exciting. Didn't tell me how to treat the world.

  • I think life will continue on our planet for a long time. Our time on the planet however, is limited.

  • greenpeace - many of my thoughts put into action.

We have the right to strike as employees in a company - why would we not have the right to strike as members in our society. That is what greenpeace does, a blockade, a strike, a something to make the society open their eyes for a second and think again.

    Think again.

Cleaning up the mess we made is not going backwards - it is the future if there shall be one at all.

  • amazing and inspiring.also check out gypwin

  • That is amazing graphics

  • Excellent

  • FANTASTIC!

like people have said unless we go back to living as cave men we will always be contributing to global warming, but think about it... every animal contributes to global warming.. such as cows which give of methane.. but what this is saying is.. we dont have to go back to living like cave people, but stop taking the piss! do we need to leave the tap running when brushing our teeth? or the lights on when we are not home? even having the heating on and the windows open?? just THINK!

    x

  • when this video started i looked at the time length and thought no way, but im so glad i watched it all. total respect is due, well done thanks for doing it for me and everyone

  • Unless you or I are prepared to return to cave living...We are ALL guilty of ruining this earth...just take a look at our life-styles....the life styles we LOVE.

  • these are great people who want to save the world from dishonest greedy politicians who are prepared to destroy the climate for money i wish i was part of greenpeace

  • just by sitting on your computer you are contributing to global warming you dickhead

  • The content of that post, appears to have gone over your head.

  • well you were sitting at your computer to post this aswell. If you reply to this post then you're using your computer. :) subconscious??

  • yea its great dont get be wrong, but at the same time what are the alternatives? wind, tidal and solar, all of which are hideously expensive. you want to moan about high tax's or moan about a questionable set of theorys that have been dramatically blown up by the press.

  • the problem is that many people do not see what a huge amount of money it will cost when global warming won´t be stopped! greenpeace did a great job with this protest and got the attention fromt he public!

  • Sometimes a time does come, and this video hit me hard. I love my world, but what am I doing to protect it?

I'm just another one of the silent majority leaving it to these guys to take action.

Apathy itself is a crime, so I will change and make a positive difference.

  • id blow the judjes brain out if hesent em to jail to this, plus 30000 punds of damage is bullshi, they cut a power line and painted gordon.

  • greta film fair play i have respect for these men and woman

  • the human race will not survive the next 2 300 years on this planet we got to find another 1 :)

  • I live in maidstone but have literally no recollection of this on the news. how ???!!!

  • she went on the back of a massive goose

  • More people need to start looking at the wider picture. Act. Dont ignore.

  • pasltik

  • greenpeace are uselesas fucking idiots..........
