Update on this video: The publicity and attention given as a result of the video put pressure on the local government to get a fire station within a short distance from our neighborhood.
No longer will our houses be burning down (knock on wood, or perhaps knock on fire-retardant particle board).
@firebrigade101 at the start of this video, do you think these guys already knew the house was going to be totalled? or do they have to real-time assess as they walk in?
@liketrane Prior to moving in, it is important to assess the rate and movement of the fire to insure crew safety...coming in slowly is recommended over quick attack.
usually when the fire is this intense in the roof, you can be assured that not a large percentage will be salvageable ( it is really up to the scene command to assess. )
NOT SHURE HOW TO RATE THIS VIDEO IF I GIVE THUMBS UP THAT WOULDNT MAKE SENSE CAUSE I DONT WANT THE HOUSE TO BE DESTROYED BUT IF I GIVE THUMBS DOWN THEN THE VIDEO MAKER WILL THINK ITS BAD WHEN ITS NOT SO THIS IS VERY SAD BUT NOTICE WHEN YOU SEE THE FIRE AT THE TOP OF THE HOUSE THE REST IS NORMAL
@liketrane instead of building a fire dept near buy, lets build a vacant strip mall with 1 dry cleaner in it. Ahh, our lovely community full of nothing-ness

Amazing 'firenado' swirling off of this roof! Seems like an attic fire...sad to see.

I am a retired Division Chief and can NEVER get used to seeing the destruction of a family home like this, very sobering to say the least.

Your video is beautiful, and just keep cutting back on the firedept just as we have in the Netherlands.
Again, great video.
Best regards,
Berend.

the main buzz about this is that the reason this house burned down in jacksonville was that the response time was so low from the fire dept.
why was the response time low? lack of a fire station nearby because of lack of funding.
