The only thing I didn't like about the hunger games was that Katniss didn't believe in herself in the 3rd book. And she just became a little too wingy for my liking

But a far better read then other YA novels

1 thing worth noting is just because someone didn't 'like' her, it didn't make them her enemy

I cannot STAND it in YA novels when the opposite happens

@TheSingerDemon I agree. One of my biggest complaints about the first book was the way Thresh died. He was such an interesting character, and his death should have been a bigger deal.

HAHA I love that once Harry Potter was mentioned you were on board. Oh and that you were disgusted when Twilight was mentioned! :D I just finished book 3 Mockingjay and I can so excited for the movie! Got my mockingjay pin, gonna paint fire on my nails, gonna go at midnight woot!!!!

I've read the 3 books in 3 days. I didnt really sleep and i brought the books with myself to school :D when i finished mockingjay it was like a chapter of my life had been closed, i didnt now what to do with my life. i made all of my friends read the books, cause im really afraid the movie is going to ruin the whole experience :/ i just wish it wont be such a piece of shit like twilight.

@hfhayley I hear ya. It's so rare that a movie can measure up to the awesomeness of the book that inspired it. I go through the same sense of loss when I finish a book or series that I've really enjoyed. It's difficult to say goodbye to characters you've grown to know and love.

i started to read this book on november the 27th 2011 and i finished it november 30th the book was amazing it is so good that i would put it up there with harry potter while harry potter is and always will be king the hunger games game it a run for its money now on to catching fire

@tehj112295nov Nothing is likely to trump Harry Potter anytime soon, but you're right -- The Hunger Games is quite a phenomenon, definitely worthy of all the hype it's gotten.

dude first of .. your wird lol second the Hunger Games is my Drug ... and its the only legule kind of drug i know :) lol im going to New York Comic Con as Katniss in her Fire dress ... lol and just to let you know there has bine talk about the move sinse summer started lol and im going to try to get a extra role in Catching Fire :) lol i found a web site where you can get the papers to fill if you want to try out :P

amazing. seriously. i devoured the first book in practically one sitting and then got quite cross with the royal mail for not delivering the next two fast enough. anyone know any other good dystopian novels? am itching for another series.

@zoelikeseagulls Have you read "The Road"? Very good stuff. There was also a pretty good Volume of short dystopian stories I I read a couple of years ago called "Wastelands: Stories of the Apocalypse". If you can find it, I'd definitely recommend it.

oh i read the books ages and ages ago and i love them i have now read th whole trillogy 5 times and still love them every time!!! i even made my own film version!!! i would reccoment to you the rest of the trilogy (if u havent already they are "catching fire" and "mockingjay") also i think you might like to read "cherub" you probably havent heard of it because it was a big hit in britain bt its about spies who are 10-17 years old its amazing!

@bbyj95 I'm planning on finishing the trilogy eventually. Right now though I'm reading the Shadowmarch series by Tad Williams. It's very long, but very captivating. When I'm done with that I may read Catching fire and Mockingjay. I'll have to check out Cherub too. Thanks so much for the suggestions!
