  • 3;45-3;53 from which episode is this?

  • @asia0123 it's from the devil's foot

  • @annafrancesca1 thanks :)

  • ...

    ...

    "Holmes. Are you high?"

  • thumbs up for the editing and jeremy!

  • @Dravenswraith Jeremy is always outstanding! And thanks, I'm glad that you liked my video!

  • Brilliant video, but the music is horrible. That's just me...

  • @RammPatri Thanks!!!! ^__^

  • Well done. the quote at the end is a great finale

  • @MeissnerFlux Thanks, I'm glad that you liked! ^__^

  • He plays a really good Victorian version, however Benedict Cumberbatch is my favourite :)

  • @XxLi3rose123xX Jeremy Brett was a perfect Sherlock Holmes as the consulting detective wrote by the pen of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Benedict Cumberbatch is so excellent and believable as the actual consulting detective that you could think that Doyle would be much more happy watching at this Sherlock than the Downey version! ^__^

  • This is brilliant!

  • @boobabycluebaby2 Thanks, you make me blush!

  • That was completely awesome! George Bernard Shaw called Sherlock Holmes "a drug addict without a single admirable trait". Well he was an addict but he was plenty admirable too!

  • @dryad61 Thanks, I'm so glad that you liked! ^__^

And I totally agree: indeed he IS plenty admirable in spite of his addiction to cocaine! That is why Sherlock Holmes is a fantasy carachter, and that is why he never dies! ^__^

  • No idea if you will end up reading this, but please, could you tell me which episode/film the first scene is from? I watched the 1987 Jeremy Brett version of "The Sign of Four" but it wasn't in there.

  • @thinker5 It is from TAO A scandal in Bohemia

  • @thinker5 The first scene is from the episode "A scandal in Bohemia" and is the first appearance of Sherlock for us viewers!

Gosh! I'm so sorry for being so late in answering, maybe this comment hasn't been notified!

  • Dreamy Jeremy

  • Dear annafrancesca1, thank u for all ur lovely videos and their high quality ;-) carry on!

ahaha, at 0:38 - 0:40 i find myself laughing loudly with Holmes cos this laughter is really contagious! )))

and, my god... 1:31 - 1:36 - why is this "Get out" thing SOOOO sexy?! O_O

  • @MultiSk2010 Thanks! eh,eh,eh...prhaps the get out thing is so sexy because Jeremy Brett was one of the sexiest men ever seen? ^__^

    So glad that you liked!

  • @MultiSk2010

For your information, when he says "Get out", it's from the episode called "The Blue Carbuncle". I just watched it yesterday.

  • This song really fit this part of him. LOL

Such a great actor for a great person.

  • @DecembersSunshine Thanks!

I agree, Jeremy was a great person and a master of the stage and screen!

  • love it - 2:20 to 3:35 is brilliant :) aspect of holmes' character as an addict has always intrigued me.... and thanks for the subtitles - can be so hard to hear what they are saying when there is_ music too... jeremy brett is of course beautiful and he looks so crazed at 2:41 lol... thank you again!!

  • Thanks ultraviolet128 !

I adore the way and the style by which Jeremy portrays Sherlock Holmes: it's exactly the way I image him when I read the books!

  • aha! Brilliant! Great video ^.^ so well put together, and the timing is great. Oh Watson, your concern is so adorable ^^

And I love his sailor blanket like no other. :D

And yes, Brett is certainly one of -the- Sherlock's out there. He's certainly what I saw when I first read the books.

Lord, I wish I had the Granada series, I may get around to getting them this summer. :D

  • Thanks heironymuslies, I'm glad that you liked! Bret was the greatest Holmes indeed!

...believe me, it really worths to get the SH dvds performed by Brett, I think this series is a must! ^_^

  • "That is why I have chosen my own profession or rather created it. As I am the only one in the world." ... Wonderful speech and it was true at that time but it will not be true much longer for I also crave mental exaltation, I shall have this profession as well someday

  • Love 1:11 ... Huh?? lol that is so damn cute

  • Yes! Yes! I agree! it's my favorite frame: he is so intriguing that I'd jumped on him and I'd covered him with kisses! ^_^

  • Oh the violin(viola) soooo ties the song in well. Great job!

  • Thanks IreneAdlerTW, I'm very glad that you liked and that you appreciated the beginning with the viola! ^_^

  • annafrancesca1, this is a brilliant video! I especially love the quotes, and the viola piece at the start - an excellent addition!

  • Thanks Castrolvalva! I'm glad that you liked and that you noticed the viola!!!

I have been looking on the web for a version song played with the violin, and I was so lucky to find this one!

  • My favorite for today 5*

  • Thanks!!!! ^__^

  • i love holmes and i love this song!!

and his face in that last speech... gahhh too freakin hot!!

  • Thanks! I'm glad that you liked!

I think that Jeremy Brett is simply perfect and a master of acting performing this difficult monologue, not to speak about the same monologue performed by Downey while he is walking on his knees in the awful mess of his room!

  • ^___^

  • Great video! I love Jeremy Brett. I just made a video about Holmes's addiction too, but it's a bit of a darker look at it.

By the way, who does he tell to get out? What episode is that from?

  • Thanks!

The scene is from The blue carbuncle, when Sherlock let the thief go away saying to Watson that in jail the man would have become a worst man.

Well, I'm not sure that my look is not so dark...after all Sherlock just pretend to stop with cocaine, then he addict again! 0_0

  • I remember that scene now! Thanks so much! Again, great video! And you are quite right, there is a bit of darkness to it; for when is addiction not a dark matter? It's just that mine ends with Watson crying and perhaps a broken friendship.

  • This is fantastic!

  • Thanks, you make me blush! ^_^

  • Terrifi video! Wonderful job!

  • Thanks! I'm flattered! ^_^

  • This is wonderful. Never heard the song before, so this was exciting to watch. Keep up the good Job. I really enjoy your work.

  • thanks jesuslovesme1956, I'm glad that you liked! ^_^

  • Wonderful! I especially enjoyed the various effects and his lovely voice over the music - 5 stars indeed!

  • Thanks, I'm glad that you liked! ^_^

  • oh, GREAT job! *has dragged in the collection* :)

  • Hi dear SpesialK1, Im so glad that you liked! ^_^

  • Interesting! He was addicted to the excitement of solving mysteries. So when there was no case to solve, he seek out drugs. Very human. His character was very well developed. Good job in giving us this insightful video.

  • Thanks dear nterpri, I'm glad that you liked! ^_^

Grazie mille.

  • Yes, I've seen his Macbeth, he was a great thespian!

    Thanks for commenting Turandot03! ^_^

  • Very interesting. I had no idea that SH was an addict. I had a professor in neuropsychology, of all things, and he said the same as SH for using cocaine. Excellent video!!

  • Well, obviously your professor neuropsychological was joking ... or not? 0__O

    Thanks Llaaseil!

  • Wow!! Absoultely fantastic!!

  • Thanks, I'm glad tha you liked!

  • That was SO cool! annafrancesca, you never cease to amaze! :-)

  • Thanks! ^_^

  • Wow! Super. Dear annafrancesca! I love it and thank you! 5* and add to my favorites. :)

    Have a nice day!

  • Thanks dear hipofizis, I'm glad that you liked! ^_^

  • Fabulous!~

  • Thanks dear! ^_^

  • After seeing your excellent video I am now in a great doubt: read Sherlock's Holmes episodes again or try cocaine ! What do you suggest ? :)

    l.l.a.p.

  • Good heavens! 0__0

Doyle's re-read of the canon, of course!

  • It's a great video! The association of talks and music works very well; to add subtitles is an excellent idea (for foreigners, it's always helpful); very good timing and choise of excerpts, very good ...very good everything in fact.

  • Thanks, I'm flattered! ^_^

I thought it was helpful to understand well what Sherlock says, in different ways it shows his inside being.

  • Great video!!! Often wondered why Holmes did cocaine, does not seem to work on him!!! Favorite!!

  • Thanks! ^_^

Yes, I've always thought it's a strange weakness in such a brilliant brain, but the explanation is the one told in the end, and the results are evident watching at his exagerated mood swings! And then, he was nearly troubled by the absence of smart criminals after his victory on snaky Moriarty!!!! ^___^

  • Che video fantastico!

  • Grazie Hytok! ^_^

  • Grazie, continui a farmi arrossire! ^____^

Il prossimo video lo giro direttamente sotto l'arco di San Pierino (qui noto luogo di ritrovo...)

Invero la faccia da poker l'avevo pensata per Spock, in un primo momento, per il video canon, ma non ci azzeccava proprio!

  • great video!!! And so nice quotes! 5*

  • Thanks dear Barbuzuka! ^_^

  • grande video, veramente...

  • ....mmm...forse....

    Grazie! ^_^

  • Your vid is a great mixture of music, color, and speech.

  • ...and the speech of Jeremy Brett is remarkable indeed! ;-)

Thanks Orypeci, I'm glad that you liked! ^_^

  • Gorgeous, thank You!

  • Grazie! ^_^

  • Wow! This is an excellent video. I wish I could give you more than 5*

  • Thanks dear strikinine!

    I really felt the need to play a bit with Sherlock/Jeremy ...maybe I am a Jeremy-addicted!!!! ^_^

  • Excellent video! Very well done! (:

  • Thanks! I'm glad that you liked!

  • It was a shock for me the first time I learned that Holmes was an addict. I guess it's something that went over my head when I was a kid.

  • When I read all the Sherlock canon (56 stories and 4 book) for the first time, when I was eleven, I was shocked to, but I must admit that the weakness makes him so human, not a superhero as he could be. At the same time it's so typical of his era (the end of IX and begin of XX century) to create such a bohémien and sophisticated character. BTW in the very late stories, incidentally, Watson said that Sherlock didn't need cocaine any more...we'll try to believe it!

  • Thanks! ^_^
