@aloisrenard Well, my dad's an electronic engineer, so i managed to find about 100 off him, then the rest were stripped out of junk lying around (like cars, U.P.S.s, microwaves etc.) That $20 was spent on a few extra 4 pole and 2 pole relays, and the LED's for the tape reader... I'm not counting the components for the memory though, which cost about another £10
We had a discussion about a very basic 'OS' (If you could call it that!) You could attach an interface to the I/O port similar to the one found on the Apollo guidance computers. Google 'dsky'. It would be the prefect addition to TIM8! I dont know what you could do with such a basic OS but I'm just putting the idea into your head. ;)
@bootnecklad Well, I'm trying to sort out a matrix key pad input, which shouldn't be too hard to do in theory, and also trying to do a 7 seg display output. If i combined them into one piece of external hardware, it could be make quite a nice little interface. Just depends whether I'd have enough memory left to do anything other than just input a number then display it, but we'll have to wait and see :P
Your project is haunting my mind, hard to resist not to put my money on a thousand of relays!!
