Casual/hardcore is not defined by the game you play but what passion you have towards games regardless of genre. And that is where alot of the points fail in this vid. It would be like saying you're not a hardcore sports fan because you watch golf and tennis vice football and basketball. No game is hardcore or casual. They're simply games that fall within a specific genre. For me you have class of gamers, Casuals, hardcore and the final category...gaming enthusiast.

I have a feeling there won't be a 3rd xbox. If there is, we won't see it for a long while. I feel that Microsoft will focus more on the portable market and PC gaming with digital distribution. I think it's even possible that the PC could be Halo 4's main platform on Games for Windows live depending on how well Battlefield 3 does on PC through Origin. As for Sony, I don't see a PS4 happening anytime soon either. I think it's just going to be Nintendo by themselves next console gen.

Well I agree , I am 12 and I try my friends how business work but they don't get it , I also try to tell them call of duty is easy to play and it's a causal game but they think it's hardcore and it's amazing and uber hard . Most kids that game don't understand about your talking about but there are a few that get it which includes me. Also most of the kids that understand have play since they were little. Ex- I been gaming since I was three

Modern Warfare on consoles is what made Modern Warfare such a success, even if PC fans claim Modern Warfare or other games are better on PC, that awful SALEs argument shuts them down. Console COD MW games sold more on consoles than PC. So it is obvious PC gamers do not support their system. LOL But guys like Brodeo and the other Xbots do not see this and only use Sales arguments when it can be used to bash Sony. Console version of BF3 is gonna be okay.

Total digital distribution and streaming. But regardless if it goes that way or not, the industry is still going to do what it can to nickel and dime us. PC gaming will always be around and so will console gaming. Console gaming will in m opinion be bigger than PC gaming because of mainstream support.

People who game on PC's either play solitaire or World of War Craft. The disparity or "Vastly" differences is within PC gaming. Console gaming is no way in danger of losing out the PC. Console gaming keep developers in line of producing the better software with hardware limitations while PC game developers are limited by variations of different levels of PCs on the market. Also, Mom and Dad is not going to always buy a Gaming PC so junior can play PC games.

Sure they have a computer or laptop, but majority of people in the mainstream don't have a computer that can do better graphics than the Ps3 or Xbox 360. Yes, you can turn down the levels to play any PC game on any average modern PC. But if you do that, the graphics is really not that much better than the current day consoles. For hardcore guys, its hard to understand this because they have powerful machines.

I like Sony but I don't agree with most of there tactics. Sony and Nintendo has fucked up big japan isn't spearheading the gaming industry like last gen which is why Sony is trying to emulate the psn like xbox live and they won't charge for online next gen only because they can't go back now on what they said or they lose fan loyalty. I would rather have ps4 and 720 out in 2014 being made carefully and not rushed out like ps3 and 360 thats why there so out dated.

I think digital is great but a little drastic but to say only casuals are on consoles is a bit over doing it. and also you have to think about genres when you talk platform. PC has MMO's and RTS's and FPS's and some RPG's where on consoles action adventure was the main genre for consoles and consoles have all of the above now than they have back then. sure there are money grabs like the season pass but as long as the general public don't buy the stuff then it won't control.

When I watch this, while PC is better, the PC version of this GUILLOTINE is certainly not 10 times better.

So while PC is better, for what ever reason, PC hasn't proved to be SO FAR GONE that consoles are, as you put it "FARMVILLE" in comparison.

Back in the late 90's, PC was waaayyy beyond consoles, and there were PC games that literally COULDN'T BE DONE on consoles. This isn't true today...not a single game released, can't be done on consoles

My game play uploads look like TRASH compared to the original FRAPS captures because the net doesn't allow you to upload raw 68GB files of footage directly from your PC. Straight up denial. Like I said when you can use super sampling, run at 7680x1600, multi monitors, 3D, Phyx, 120FPS let me know. Fact is console games can barely run 30FPS these days and can't even hit HD resolutions at that lol

Because they have NO GAMES that use all the power to look 10 times better than the best console game. Why? PC's boast the hardware prowess but it has very little content that utilize it to its full potential and there is not enough people out there with a PC with that prowess to make it relevant. 1 reason (there's several actually) that we don't see PC games at this "10 times better graphics", is cost. It cost alot of money to make the games that we have now. So if people want SUPER SIGNIFICANTLY better, that will cost 10 times the money as well.

That is not only a prohibitive limit for game developers, but it is a bonafide limit regarding PC game developers.

MY point is, is PC game development does have limits.

Yes, there is a technological limit but even limitations, the best and the brightest can make games that will stand the test of time itself. Gaming industry has gotten pretty big and fat and everybody is trying to get rich. @ewwwt the problem is the development lag. That is the time they pick the gpu to the time they bring it to market. If they pick it say 6 months before they launch then it's already mature at launch in terms of life cycle. Simple fact is consoles will always lag far behind a module system like a PC in terms of power. It's up to developers to get the most of them to make great games.

But the real story is that windows has dropped below 90% OS market share and is expected to go below 50% in the next 5 - 10 years. So I do expect PC gaming to become even more popular, but I think cloud will drive that growth. Which is good new for ppl like me that drop 2 grand every few years on a box under a table :)
