Too strong? It's got the slowest line up (aside from Stronghold) which means the enemy almost always goes first in combat. It costs a crap-ton of rare resources, and titan dwelling costs 40 gems and 40,000 gold to get. Faster starting castles like Fortress will leave Tower for dead, especially on resource-poor maps.

@darthbandon10 Guess you've not played many ranked online games, it's ok - lol. Just following the usual guide-lines. Besides, one of the toughest towns for Tower to meet is Dungeon. Don't get me wrong though, there are other towns that usually got poped: Conflux and Necropolis. Which is a shame, since I loved Necropolis x)

It is correct, that we in Scandinavia (I'm danish) are doing pretty well in terms of economy, welfare, education etc. However, it has not been proven at any rate that this has anything to do with intelligence. I highly doubt you are either scandinavian or intelligent judging from your post - all the things that has led Denmark to prosperity has been from another culture. Farming, democracy, universities... all from south of europe.

dude, I beat the good to go map (it's the one with the grail built in right?) on 160 % in 8 or 9 days with tower with solimyr (or anyone else with expert wisdom) and entire map revealed (due to grail). kill the neutral guards in fortress direction quickly and use dimmension door to get free city while their hero is away. defend town and kill their hero (not too hard with fortress town). repeat tactic, can even get nice arti with fly.

Tower is one of the STRONGEST. Strongest Magic, Heroes have great power and knowledge. The resources needed for dwellings are quite evenly distributed except for Upgraded Cloud Temple. NagaQueens are the strongest level 6 creatures, Titans are the fourth strongest level 7 creatures after Archangel, BlackDragon and GoldDragon. ObsidianGargoyles are the third strongest level 2 creatures after Harpy Hags and Magogs. The only downside is Mage Tower costs really expensive for its lvl, upgraded too

1) Archangel (he beats all, but in fight with A.Behemoths you most click "Wait" - then hit, if you dont do that A.Behemoth will wins with Archangel)

2) Arch Devil (yes that is true he beat all of opponents)

3) Titan (yes he beat A. Behemoth cause he hit 2 times first, he is a quicker than Behemoth), Ancient Behemoth - cause he wins with Black Dragons(they wins 60% duels with Titans)

4) Black Dragon

5) Gold Dragon

6) ...rest

@KallenSC Hmm, weird, I never though that an Archdevil would beat an Ancient Behemoth, because he only has 2/3 of their health... And how would a Titan beat a Black Dragon? A Black Dragon has the ability to attack first and he has more attack and defense on his side.

Anyways, it all depends on the situation and the quantity of units, just because a unit can beat another one on one doesn't mean it's stronger in general, so a one on one fight is hardly the case to win battles.

@TheVortexLord Indeed, such a scenario is neigh never to be seen. Actually, I think that in Heroes III, there is one of the best "balances" between factions than any other Heroes title. Other than that, there's always achieved attack and defence bonus's gotten on the map, influence of the hero under whom the creatures fight, speed of the creatures, spells used in battle... In Heroes of Might and Magic 1, I actually was able to defend my castle from 70 hydra's with 1 fairy thanks to the towers.

@Kirimatusam As someone else stated, the Ancient Behemoth beats all other units in the game in a 1 on 1 battle.

I believe it has been tested many times with different numbers(1 vs 1, 50 vs 50, etc etc.). The only way it can lose is through creative kiting by Archdevils.

HOMM 3 has always been my favorite game of all time. And the ultimate thing to do in it was to play the Tower faction, starting with Solmyr who comes equipped with Chain Lightning. Then, find the grail and build the Skyship which revealed the whole map. At this point, Titans and invincibility!

Well, to be fair, it was always more of a mythological melting pot, with creatures from completely unrelated mythological systems mixed together in one "confession". They just kind of took the coolest-looking monsters from the myths and put them in a castle without worrying too much about how relevant the combinations were. That's not to say it diminishes the game's greateness by a slightest bit...

For me Tower was the best castle too. It allways makes me calm and relax. When I was small kind it was my 1st game. And I can say now, I have never played better game than it. Its awesome that game can remind me this beautyful moments of my life.
