Sonic Generations was the developers way of stepping back and looking at what they've done, hopefully with that learning experience the next game will be much much better. Sometimes the first/original concept is the best one.

@Tr3s3ntos, yyyyeah... sorry but to me, Casino Night was never one of my all time favorite Sonic levels, it is my favorite level from Sonic 2, but even Sonic 2 isn't one of my all time favorite Sonic games, I personally think that Speed Highway would be a better choice, plus I think that Speed Highway is a pretty memorable stage itself.

Aw, man. My first console was a Gamecube (born 98) and I remember I got SSBM, SMS, MKDD and Sonic Adventure DX as my first games for it and after playing the first 3 I thought wow Mario Kart is pretty fast! Then I see this other game... not made by Nintendo? Hmmm... so I pop the disc in and WOW just a blaze of colours and flashing lights and sound and everything! I will never ever forget that intro and I think it's the best intro ever and since then I've always thought Sonic is better than Mario

I prefer Sonic over Mario anyday, don't get me wrong though, I still do love Mario games, it's just that I prefer Sonic's gameplay over Mario's. I still play the original and newer Sonic games today repeatedly, but I rarely go back to play a Mario game, except Super Mario 64, my favorite Mario game. Also, I like Sonic's personality more.
