On the EUR/USD charts, the Euro has fallen in 2 months against the dollar from 1.60 at the beginning of July, to 1.46 now. On the USD/JPY the Dollar has risen from 96.61 in March, to 109.98 now. Yes I know the dollar has been falling but a gain that quickly can indicate a possible trend reversal.

Study a little bit of history and you'll see that this is a relatively small downturn compared to some of the others we've had. I'm seeing the big picture, not you. After every single downturn, depression, and recession, the US economy has come back stronger than ever. In the 70's when gas prices doubled, we got over it. In the 80's, when the stock market lost 20% of it's value in a week, we got past it. This is just a cycle we're going through. It's not the end of America.

The reason why the dollar has gotten stronger is due to foreign bank invervention. They have been busy selling off their federal agency debt (Freddy/Fannie) and in its place buying US treasuries. Thus the huge gain in the dollar. The banks have to put their money somewhere, and they all have an interest in propping up the dollar. Soon they will get out of treasuries too, and that popping sound will be nothing but the US dollar.
