was just there a couple weeks ago stayed in the gold hill hotel (we were the only people there that night). i hadnt been to virginia city for about 17 years so it was nice going back now that im old enough to do what i wanted to do (a night of drinking in the old saloons and a day that seemed like almost going back in time)
i went there for spring break when i was with my grandparents in reno and i came here and it scared the hell out of me when i saw they all had guns and some drunk people.
I was born and raised in Reno and spent many hours in Virginia City with my family when a kid, and then with friends and dates later on. This is a great video and brings back so many memories for me, now in Oregon.
I grew up in Chicago on Sat afternoon Westerns. I moved to Dayton for 2 yrs and rode my bike to VC everyday. I would dream of long lost westerns on the way up and by the time I crested the last grade, I was the Hero of one of those Westerns riding back into town to "wet his whistle". Virginia City is the Purest City in America! Never Change It
I used to act in the gunfight show with Lee and Eddie McKechnie. I was also the "assistant" in the Mark Twain show, performed by an actor named John Benneth. Damn, those were good times. The Sugar Loaf...the Bucket of Blood...Gold Hill...maybe I'll get back some day.
i live in victoria b.c. canada BUT i have been there 2 see that slice of americana at least 10 times !!!its cool there it feels hella old school !!u should go and visit i recomend u blaze a fatty first !!
