You touched on exactly why I have avoided going to counselors for years: their inculcated tendency these days to look for signs of "disorders" or "biopsych" issues. I have seen perfectly healthy people be convinced by contemporary counselors that they need to be on medication, that they have "disorders." Some of them then became convinced that they would need to be on psychiatric drugs for the rest of their lives and are now afraid to get off of them.
Thank you Dr. Breeding for providing some of us interested parties with an invaluable alternate view to the prevalent mainstream view. I fear that more people are interested in the Hollywood propaganda machine and the other more perverse aspects of our degenerate society. More people respect the rapacious parasitic societal elements than rational thinking people such as yourself. And I think the girls at psychtruth are just displaying current fashion trends.
I am a medical professional who highly respects and agrees with your perspective and information. A couple of years ago, I entered a graduate program to be a psychologist and was amazed at the level of "mental health" and awareness many of the students in my cohort were in, and 2 even seemed "mentally ill" but could hide it well to most. It was the major reason I left the program. Good advice for clients to initially ask questions.
I was impressed with your videos over a year ago, and subscribed to "psychetruth". However with time, I have seen "psychetruth" deteriorate. They are now using young women to relay so-called "facts", with their skirts becoming increasingly shorter, their tops increasingly lower with the camera usually focused on their cleavage. I am losing respect for "psychetruth" because of this sexism. This can also affect how people view you as a reliable professional.
does psychology still have a place in the coming decades? How do you reconcile the difficulty of joblessness and other issues that people are going through with this ongoing "recession" and does this suggest some kind of larger failure of society or being?
Dr. Breeding, I saw you recently discuss the book "Anatomy of an Epidemic". I'm doing a research paper on the Placebo Effect. Another good book along the same vein is "The Emperor's New Drug's" by Irving Kirsch, Ph. D. The book goes into why some cases of depression are essentially the Nocebo Effect. This is the conclusion I came to in my own experience with Trichotillomania, panic attacks, and depression in middle school and high school.

Advice: Don't pick a counselor who looks like an anorexic version of the Unibomber.
