This is not factory correct paint scheme for 1970 cars. 1970 did not offer the "Wedge" decal on the hood either. That was 1971, maybe '72. Also missing the "Valiant" badge found only on 1970 cars. I own one and I do know.
WTF are you guys talking about? The grill is correct for a '70 Valliant Duster. The sharktooth grill didn't come out until '71 & the steering wheel is correct for a '70 340 Valliant Duster with the ralley dash. Chrysler also used the "rim-blow" steering wheel on the ralley dash equipped cars for the '70 year model. Non ralley dash cars had the standard 3 spoke wheel. I suggest you restore an A body before pointing out incorrect parts.
The old muscle cars are super cool but none ran 12s right off the showroom floor. They required work. Sorry to burst everyones bubble but those HP# are gross not net. Alot of magazine cars were tuned and professionally driven.
Hear we go again..BIGJOHN, HEMI's put out around 450 real horsepower(gross) and most ran mid 13's to around 14.0's out of the factory. Factory "ringer cars" with pro drivers ran low 13's. My 'mild' 87 GN will smoke any stock Hemi Mopar. Not bragging, just stating facts. Have a great day!!
wrong! your 3.6 turbo v6 will not smoke any 426 hemi. It doesn't matter what these cars ran in the quarter mile back in the 60's 70's, they had a hell of a lot of tourque and shitty tires back then. You could probably shave a second off those times with modern tires. Also I doubt your GN would even run in the 14's unless it's modified.
the tires alone were half the problem back then. a "mild" GN will not get smoked but would not win. ever. that GN cost just as much to hot rod as a hemi too. my 71 duster was a 340, 4spd and 3.91 geared car. headers, bfg drag radials and a mopar electronic dist conversion were it for mods. 67,000mi. it ran 13.8's-14.00's depending on the weather.
old cars are nice to look at and listen to,new cars are nice to drive and thats the cold hard truth.Drive a 911 turbo, a z06 ,a gt-r,and youll quickly forget about the old ones.
The 340 is factory rated at 290 HP, but actually puts out about 350 HP at the wheels. Just like the 426 HEMI was rated at 425 HP, we all know it puts out over 500!
The 4bbl was rated at 275 H.P. Your thinking of the 6 pack 340, which indeed was rated at 290 H.P. But this is a 4bbl car so its rated at 275 factory H.P. & your right, they were way, way under rated. Dont you wish auto makers could say that today instead of over rating them!?!
Oh ok a 4 barrel, yeah I only know about the 6 barrel myself. Yes I hate it when they over rate the specs on vehicles today, it not only makes insurance more expensive than it should be but it is simple misinformation as well! Back then they did it to keep the insurance down so that younger people could afford their cars, nowdays with pre-approved credit cards right out of high school they dont care!
ROFL, a 426 HEMI tuned properly puts out over 550 WHP and 625 ft lbs of torque. Most of these cars weigh over 4,000 lbs and still do 11 to 12 seconds on the quarter from the factory, Id like to see a modern car do that with striaght factory motor.
they did not weigh over 4000 pounds and while you re on that subject a modern day 4100 challenger will kill a 3600 pound 70,71 hemi challenger, just go to jay lenos garage and get educated, the old cars had skinny tires thats why they laid long strips of rubber ,newer cars like the z06 corvette will kill any old hemi or anything else from the flinstones era.Stop living in the past buddy let reality sink in
actually the new chargers/challengers aren't all that fast. they run in the mid to high 13s on a good day. I could give them a run for their money in my stock '97 lt1 trans am lol.
Thanks Brent. We get them already done anywhere from 90% to 100%. We have our own people that can do anything the cars need when they arrive. We will Keep 'Em Coming!
This is my list of ten musclecars I would love to own! Not in any particular order: 1 1969 GTO 2 1969 Olds 442 3 1969 SS 396Chevelle 4 1970 AMX (w/trendsetters!) 5 1970 T/A Challenger or AAR Cuda 6 1971 Plymouth GTX (440+ 6 please) 7 1970 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1 Mustang 8 1970 Z 28 Camaro 9 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 10 1971 Dodge Demon or Swinger 340
I wish! I had a 69 Goat a 70 Ram Air 3 Formula and a 78 SE TA I love American Muscle! I study it like a college course. I love your videos-best on u tube!
Sounds good though...

VERY nice, but stock exhaust finishers would be box tips, not round pipes.

most of us cant afford a z06... I'd rather buy an older car and build a hot rod.
