When you think about it....the king of sorrow was probably the embodiment of Klonoa's sorrow when he was separated from hewpoe in the first game....Notice how the king has a golden ring around his neck..like the collar klonoa sported in the first game...just food for thought.

For anyone wondering, the reason the King of Sorrow makes that thing is...

Okay, well, look at it this way:

His fight is comparable to a person experiencing sorrow and how they act.

In the first stage of the fight, you have to break through his shell during a chase scene. A person throwing up their defenses and retreating from the world.

The second stage is his sorrowful lashings; he truly believes that everyone hates him.

a boss (0:01 - 0:29 , 1:00 - 1:48)

and his sorrow (0:30 - 0:59 , 1:49 - 2:21) so it would never be pure sorrow like you said but in his cutscene there should be pure sorrow and thats what they did.

Did you notice: both Sorrow and Ghadius had a repetitive backing melody in their songs? Just a thought.

It really adds to the mood, though-- the speed and orchestration give this song a very regal and almost panicky feel, which fits the level perfectly.

I am a little confused however, because he had to start somewhere. And Huepow's words in the end of DtP were "...Back to your phantomile" and you saw him shooting off into the sky. I assume it was the Moon Kingdom he was going to (I cannot remember the ending too clearly at the minute) but I could be wrong. So if I had to take a guess I would say that is his real home.

Another thing which makes me wonder, is the opening scene, where Klonoa states he can't remember his dreams when he wakes in the morning. I've always considered those dreams to be the worlds he's visited.

Which also makes me think, does he go to alternate universes in his dreams..? He is, after all, a Dream Traveller.
