@SeeYouNextFall Anyone who enjoys good music enjoys REM, but the key is, do you know WHY REM is a great group. Stephen never quite figured that out, which is a damn shame. They're a great group because their art always came before any politics, even between themselves and their own personal desires. I believe they are the only band in history to disband after 30+ years amicably: that is a true testament to their sense of what art really is.

For Pavement and Malkmus, there just great but it to me has always been about the great sound and power of the guitar, including his Jicks' career which is just as excellent as Pavement. it's a great sound, punk attitude, classic rock feel.
