  • G G G G G GEORGIA

  • Also, Time After Time is a very good song...you fail again Stephen.

  • I enjoy name checking R.E.M. as well, ironically enough. I also am going to start name checking Pavement: if you're a lover of Stephen Malkimus then you're probably a dick (and also enjoy Guns N Roses, no doubt), but the rest of the band is just fine.

  • I wonder if rem has heard this song

  • i didnt think he was complementing rem. i think the singer for pavement don't like too many bands or people

  • @ltbsis

Actually, the band Pavement are in fact huge fans of REM.

  • @SeeYouNextFall Anyone who enjoys good music enjoys REM, but the key is, do you know WHY REM is a great group. Stephen never quite figured that out, which is a damn shame. They're a great group because their art always came before any politics, even between themselves and their own personal desires. I believe they are the only band in history to disband after 30+ years amicably: that is a true testament to their sense of what art really is.

  • I always picture Pavement having a play battle with cardboard swords and trashcan lid shields during the outro of this song

  • A fitting tribute to a fantastic band. Thank you Pavement for a great song. I love you and miss you Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe.

  • This song is rad.

  • you have the bass player and guitar player backwards here

  • Now that R.E.M. quit this song makes for the perfect eulogy....

  • R.I.P. R.E.M.

  • How can you not love these goofballs?

  • haha. hilarious lyrics. classic. love it when they are making fun of other bands. you gotta hand it to these guys, Pavement I mean, kings of witty silliness

  • Is it ironic that this throwaway song about REM is better than anything REM ever did? No its not ironic. Its just Pavement.

  • @eminemdisstopia

lol no. early REM > Pavement

  • @eminemdisstopia Everyone has a right to express their own opinion..but Pavement is better than R.E.M my ass..what do you know about R.E.M anyway??

  • This is so much grunge!! I love it!

  • aww i like time after time!

  • rem is pretty great

  • Bassist and Guitarist are turned around in order :(

  • @REMLostmyreligion That's bugging me, too.

  • what the hell is this song about? i like to think of myself as pretty deep and i can read into songs really well.. but... this... im stumped.

  • @Banged147Chicks

Its about how this band likes R.E.M. and their songs.

They also talk about the southern united states during the civil war.

  • @SeeYouNextFall and R.E.M. is from the south, so do some algebra

  • @SeeYouNextFall Yeah, uh...based on your user name and your comment, you're not really all that deep. Trust me.

  • @complitdave

I wasn't the one who claimed to be "pretty deep".

Why dont you start replying to the right person dumbass. It was the user named "Banged147Chicks"

  • @SeeYouNextFall Sorry, friend, honest mistake. But perhaps before you call someone a dumb-ass, you should learn the rules of third-grade punctuation, so that you can insult people correctly, genius.

  • @Banged147Chicks

the man called "Banged147Chicks" wants to let us know how "deep" he is...

  • @TheOfficialDPRK

    Thanks, have a nice day.

  • Also, that's a split rail fence, not a picket fence. Come on man! Just kidding. You are awesome for making this.

  • @richgriffin77

I know. But I actually took the picture of the fence at Antietam civil war battle field in Maryland.

Since this song is half civil war themed, I figured it would fit.

  • @SeeYouNextFall sweeeeeeeeeeeet

  • this is totally grunge. I love grunge, I love this song!

  • just don't listen to their cover of "camera" !

  • I can't stand REM but I love this track!

  • MARCHING THROUGH GEORGIA!

  • the bass and guitar player are mixed up

  • Love this song!

  • Comment removed

  • time after time was my least favorite song..

  • i'm a big pavement fan (seeing them this saturday in toronto) but i've never heard this song before. another great track from a band that could do no wrong for the better part of a decade.

  • @famousashtray Hahah just because of that fluxblog article..

  • @hpsfl

    fluxblog article?

  • love the song brings me back to the good ol days why aren't there more bands as good as them> video is ok.

  • and i thought they only covered 7 chinese bros.

  • classic. now that's how you pay tribute.

  • Saying something is your "least favorite song" is the highest compliment because it means all the songs are your favorite

For Pavement and Malkmus, there just great but it to me has always been about the great sound and power of the guitar, including his Jicks' career which is just as excellent as Pavement. it's a great sound, punk attitude, classic rock feel.

  • @chrisocony good point about the lesat favourite song!

  • perfect heckle...

  • This song turned me on to Pavement. Love this song!

  • Glad to hear it!
