my friend will it be possible to make any turbocharger jet or turboprop turbocharger to power an ultralight aircraft? so far how much power were u able to produce from these? and what is its weight? i mean the most powerful one.

could it be possible if the shaft be connected to a propeller so that the engine will become a turboprop? thats what im planning to do with mine. what do you think?

Don't think that would work to well.... just fixing a shaft to the turbo shaft. You need to use a free power system, there are examples of there on youtube..... you mite want to look for yahoo group. DIYGasturbine, they have youtube page diygt

Would that be a turbo for a CAT 3304? I have one off of a Cummins 855 big cam and would like to build a turbine engine out of it ive also got a combustion chamber measuring 24L x 10W but i dont know what would be good lubrication system or fuel system for that matter i also don t have a flame holder yet. Any advice for this project and what kind of spray pattern would i look for to make sure i dont melt the turbine?

Would using an IC not be the opposite of what you want to achieve? I mean, in a direct line this would be what is happening to the airstream: Compression (heated) -> IC (cooled) -> Combustion (heated) -> Turbomill (cooled).

If you use intercooler, you LOSE energy (heat and pressure) that is needed to drive the mill. If I missed something, let me know :)

@emilen2 nah, with cooler intake air the air is more dense so in the combustion chamber it can expand even more resulting in more thrust

no, these turbojet turbocharger engines only produce a little mount of thrust

They opened up the oxygen too early (or oil)

because all of the fuel didn't burn in the combustion chamber.The unburnt fuel got burnt near the turbine and outside the unit.

LOL I would have no problem selling you housing or units like that! :) We dont sell Garrett but Borg Warner has Identical To4b units like that. 231 788 5209 (ask for a v-trim box unit)

That might be a little hard LOL you will need at least a 100k-rpm tach... Temp probe would be ausome though!! Keep it up man.
