  • Thank You!!!

  • hey, im having problems where when i use the whammy, it puts my guitar way out of tune and the double locks are on, how do i fix it?

  • Hi...My problem is a bit annoying. The back cavity thing is tight but the screw with the arm which holds the arm itself seem to move back and loosen the arm. What to do? will an arm change solve my problem or else?

  • Awesome man! Thank you for the video! It has helped me

  • OH SHIT DUDE, THAT'S FUCKED UP

  • Hey I tried this but the Allen rench didnt reach far enough to go in without scratching stuff up on the inside. Any help?

  • take off the backplate and put a allen wrench in the back of the bar thing and hold the other part with pliers then twist the allen wrench

  • Hey, since you know so much on floyd rose whammy bars, I just got a Washburn Dime 2ST (the stealth), and when I pull up on the whammy bar to do a squeal or something, it hits the guitar and can only go up about a full step. How would I increase this without raising the action an insane amount... I tried and it makes it go maybe two steps up, but is impossible to play.

  • i have that problem and i keep fixing it and it keeps on happening wtf??

  • id say buy a whole new set from a guitar shop and have them install it the right way and get the original floyd from germany it works way better

  • A spring cut your gut open? Talk about panaroid LOL

  • i have the same problem on my guitar and i fixed it, but it becomes loose again almost immediately after i use it a few times....any ideas???

  • ATTN: I am 'thisisallbullshit', I created a new account because I got sick of my old screen name but I used the same email so I can't log into my old account. If you want to ask me a question just message me, cause I will not be notified when someone comments here. Sorry for the inconvinience.

    Peace.

  • is it normal that if you take a note no open strings or harmonics and then make it really high is it normal that the note stops

  • yea man its normal if you want to make the note longer maybe you could get a sustain pedal or maybe the sustain of your guitar isnt that good

i simply use a sustain pedal to make the note live longer

  • thats not what it is the problem is that the strings touch the frets

  • i think its the trem bar white plastic located in the end of the arm inside of the rotating thing.......well this plastc is broke.... yours is separated or broke too? should i get a new arm?

  • man i hope you help me my problem is that when i put the trem arm and start playing after a min it starts moving and is not the arm fit because is tight its an esp m serie 200fm floyd rose special bridge

  • hey bro, i have this same problem, however the thing in the back cavity isnt loose, it's extremely tight. i cant even adjust it with an allen wrench, any suggestions?

  • What kind of guitar is it? Some floyd roses like those on Ibanezes can be very loose but the bar can actually be adjusted from a different part on the bar setup.

  • Its an OFR.

  • That's interesting. If it's a usual OFR then it should have an allen screw on the back. I'll need to see pics or a vid, because it should have the allen screw for you. What guitar is it in?

  • hey man thank you very much

    this has helped me alot

put some more videos of floyd rose things on

  • I have this problem with mine, except it isn't wobly like yours was... can u help?

  • what do you mean?

Also, what guitar? Theres different floyds on different guitars, some a really different.

Either way just try what I did in this video. See if that does it.

  • ys is ok, was a custom guiar looking like a steve vai jem.

I just went for it, ended up perfect lol

    ty for reply

  • @thisisallbullshit i have a jackson rr3 the actual socket is stable and works the way it should but the ARM has started to get really loose for some reason it doesnt have any grip anymore to tighten up and stay at one position i have the original floyd rose that comes with all jacksons. HELP!!

  • that has happened to me so many times. It happens like every other month to me, thank god it isn't hard to fix.

  • thx had the same prob with mine

  • you can but that arm for your floyd rose

  • hows tape gonna protect you from the 100 or so pounds of force of the springs? i dont think theyd come off unless you actually tried to get em off

    lol

sorry i just thought it was weird

    bad ass dean though

  • i have tht guitarr

  • awsome vid but my whammy arm wont go in it idk why it wont go in it gets stuck kinda

  • what do you mean by 'it wont go in?' Are you just pushing it in? is it the screw in type? What guitar is it?

  • wow, awsome vid man.. i have a problem with my jackson ke3 kelly i got from a pawn shop. i bought a new whammy bar for it(cause it didnt have one) an i found a peice of, possibly, a previous one stuck in it, can i take the back plate off and take out from the back?plz respond. again, nice vid.

  • Oh yeah man take the plate off and take that sucker out.

  • can use this skill on ibanez ILT1 brigde?

  • I dunno man. Ibanez Floyds are awesome but their bar system is kinda weird. The ones I've played the bar can never stay in one place because it's like it's meant to swing freely. So I'd love to give you a flat answer but sorry dude, I couldn't tell ya.

  • ok, thanks man~

  • one of my strings recently broke. i bought a set of earnie ball heavy bottom guage string and put them on. but when i tuned up the bridge was raising to a stage where it was nearly vertical (scared the shit out me, thoguth i broke it) how do you reset it, or wateva to not have that prob. Help me PLZ

  • Tighten the springs...

  • i did till the springs couldnt be tightened any further...but its kool cause i sent it i and the bridge got reset

  • yes , what everyone said, just tighten the springs in the back(maybe add another spring)because heavyer strings cause mor tension on the bridge.=D

  • I really need some help dude...

My guitar goes out of tune every time I use the Floyd Rose system because it won't go back in the right possition. You have to help it to the right possition... damn.

    Please help me.

  • check the intination

  • Did you have a cold when you were making this?

  • If I recall correctly I was just getting over one or coming down with one, so yeah. lol.

  • lmfao Dean "Noyer". Isn't it prounced "nwahr

", like the French way, or am I totally wrong?

  • Lol I don't know. It is a French word though so your probably right.

  • thanks i got a razorback v standard and i had that problem

  • Also noticed you say this in your last responce to hobazzz "One thing you could try to do is dive while checking out the knife edges of the Floyd. If they move a bit instead of pivoting in one place, try taking the Floyd bridge off and cleaning/filing the knife edges down a bit, see if that works." could you explain that in more depth? or make a video on how to quickly do it? im sure i need to do somthing with the knife edges because mine is abit strange at the moment, due to that im 90% sure.

  • It's pretty easy man. All you need to do is open up the back cavity with the springs, and take the springs off by pulling them toward the claw and pulling them off. Once you have all the springs off, you can simply pull the whole Floyd rose out through the top. Then use a file or whatever to sharpen the knife edges. Then just put it back in the hole, put the springs back on, and it should stay in the same tuning that it was in. Hope this helps man.

  • Ok man thanks, ill try it when i get back, going away for 2weeks so dont want to do it just yet incase i mess it up, then the whole time im away ill me anoyed lol

I'll let you know how it goes!

  • Hey man hows you? sorry i never got round to putting up that vid i had a question about, realized i didnt really need it anyway, also its a good job you made this vid for me eh? seeing as its benefited a lot of people :)

  • nice vid ,dude ..i've a problem with my ibanez rg370dx floyd rose ,when i push the bar towards me &release the whole tuning is dropped a little ,when i pull it back it comes to the normal ,&i'm sure i locked the bridge &head lockers tightly ..i think it's something in the bridge that make it stucks higher when i push the bar but i have no explaination for this!! if u could help me in this i'd be grateful ,thnx in advance:)

  • I hate to break it to you, but a lot of Floyd Roses are just like that dude, especially licensed ones.

One thing you could try to do is dive while checking out the knife edges of the Floyd. If they move a bit instead of pivoting in one place, try taking the Floyd bridge off and cleaning/filing the knife edges down a bit, see if that works.

  • that sounds disappointing:( ,anyway thnx so much for helping dude:)

  • Great idea with the tape on the springs; nothing like a surprise attack from from a feisty spring....twangggg!!!

  • I've taken the tape off since then. The springs stay where they are. They only fly off if you have too many springs on and it's too slack. The part of the spring that's angled goes into the big metal bar slanted so it needs to be super slacked and still lots of tension on the to get it to pop out.

  • On some of the Deans, like the razorback V that i have, its not as simplee you have to get a wrench or plyers to hold te bolt inside while you get players or something to tighten the top ware the bar is.

  • dude...i have almsot same problem now but i dont have that thing to tight the tremolo up :(

  • "thats not suppose to happen" hahhaha that hilarious but that really helps thanks

  • "Make sure its nice and stiff"

  • I had a question for ya I have a Ltd/esp F-200 I believe I payed 400-450 for it about 4 years ago I like the way it plays I have the action really low on it , It has a liscened floyd rose on it one of the locking nuts on the bridge to hold the strings stripped out on me I'm thinking about buying a Original floyd rose for it Do you think its worth investing in and are these problems common on both liscened and original floyd rose systems? any advice would be great

or If anybody else can help

  • Oh man, I'm sorry, I haven't visited this vid in a while.

Well, if it's stripped, theres a few fixes. One of them is replacing that whole section, but since it's licensed, finding the part will be hard. Another is using a type of bit that get's stripped screws out of the holes. And another fix is taking a saw or something and cutting a line all the way through the diameter of the screw so you can unscrew it with a standard screwdriver. Those are 3 fixes you can do. Hope one of them works.

  • how much does a floyd rose cost? cuz when i get my dean shadow i wanna change the licensned floyd to a nomal floyd so it sound good and is easyer to mantain.

  • Well, off the top of my head an OFR will cost you 120-150. But, I don't think it would fit, or at least you would need to install new posts and everything, you couldn't just replace the bridge part and that's that.

But the Floyd Roses on the Dime Shadows aren't bad dude. They're pretty good. This one I have is a cheaper one, and it's still a good one.

  • awesome

  • Another thing, when i try and down tune it, it downtunes but the tension dosnt stay so it just goes back to standard, might have to show u, but do you know how to like lock it? or is there no way?

  • cause i really want to use it in my band for gigs etc but without downtuning for stuff i wont be able to use it and iv tried putting somthing under it to tune it but when i take it out it just goes back, (useing an eraser at the moment for that, closest thing i could find that would fit)can downtune if thats in but not without, dont want to be playing with that in there, maybe somthing to do with amount of springs? iv only got 2 or 3 in it at the moment. any help with that also? thanks man.

  • Well, how do you down tune it? Do you just press down the bar or what? I'm not too sure what you mean if your saying that it just goes back to normal. I think your gonna have to show me dude.

  • ah ok man, ill make a vid tomorrow sometime, tuesday at the latest!

  • Sick, thanks man, really appreciate it! mine has a like nut n bolt on the inside rather then ur alan key, same way to tighten it basically though, yeah the screw in is quite anoying somtimes but its better then my other guitars that dont have any tremelo bars and that r just straight through stings haha, iv got a strat but the thing is really different to the floyd rose.
