  • I served in D Co. 1/11th in 88-90, and was there on Nov. 9, 1989, when the border was opened; we had come off a border tour the week before. I went on to serve in Desert Shield/Desert Storm (with 3d ACR) but I am more proud of my service with the 11th ACR; we were there guarding the 'Frontiers of Freedom' at the end, the final end, of the Second World War, and the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union--and we finished the job. A lot more satisfying, to say the least, and good memories too.

  • Bought a lot of memories back served 1974-1977 B-trp 1/11th fulda gap. Spent quite a bit of time on OP Alpha and border patrol. While at OP Alpha had only one incident where 2 east German's tried to cross the fence right in front of the tower. That made it a very tense day. They died trying.

  • SPENT SOME TIME ON DUTY AT OP ALFA WITH THE 3/12 CAV 1976 TO 1979 OUR MAIN POSTING WAS BUDINGEN, gERMANY ARMSTRONG KARSEIRN

  • Great slideshow! Spent quite a few days there myself! 3/12 Cav.72-74! Thanks for your efforts! check us out on FaceBook!
