Im proud that your one of the true bowlers like in the begging you had not all strikes before change of hand position. Other ball reviews act like all they can do is strike.
You work the inside of the ball pretty well. No matter how much I try working it, I can't boost my rev rate as high as yours. Can you offer any tips on getting my rate up as high as yours? I'm around 330 or 40, and my averege ball speed is around 17.5-18 MPH.
i have the same problem as you with the coming around the ball too much, this ball is gonna take some getting used to but the ball looks fantastic when i get it right, nice review thank you!
i use a storm cherry fast ball, and i was wondering if i could get tips on how to not brooklyn it so much and not drive thru the pins leaving splits....i want it to hit the pocket hard
Basically, the rule of thumb for when you are having trouble hitting the pocket is "move the way you miss", meaning, if you go brooklyn, then you know that you need to move left to give the ball more time in the oil. Same thing if you are missing the pocket to the right, move right, doing this will give the ball more time in the drier boards which will allow the ball to come up to the pocket better.
thnx mane i never thought of it that way, because i also use a hammer onyx vibe and im shooting pretty well with it then again diff. coverstocks and brands, so would brands also play into your bowling needs?
The certain brand does play a small role, as some companies are more partial to certain ball movement. Brunswick has a more rolly ball movement and smoother backend reaction where Track is much more skid/flip with their recent equipment. I would say that the most all-around company for different reaction types it Storm right now, though I do think that Hammer and Ebonite are both giving themselves a shot at being the top company with some of the most recent releases.
im considering getting this ball very much, or the reign....still trying to develop my hook, with the ball i use now ( used brunswick zone) the only way i can get it to hook like a ball should. i have to use the no thumb method to really put the revs on it so its snaps down the lane......dont know if i should get a 15lb or a 16lb though.
Trust me, if you get this ball or he Reign, you won't need to use the no-thumb method. Using an older ball like a Brunswick Zone won't have the traction that the new equipment has out on the market now. The covers and the cores in the new equipment are much stronger than what they used in the past.
the guy at my pro shop told me that a 15lb has its benefits over a 16lb (i use a 16 now) they shop wants like $175 with everything done, is that about the same you paid? i aslo figured i could spend maybe and extra $30-$40 and get the virtual energy, which seems like a very popular and good ball..
The ball runs about $160 at my place and that isn't including grips and slug. As for the Virtual Energy, that will go for about $240, so it is quite a bit of difference.
at another shop that i had im mind they wanted $160 for the VE plus $50 for drilling so you could figure $220-ish for the ball.....i would rather go with the VE to say i have one of the best balls storm makes lol, but i still have alot to learn before i could have full use for either of the 2 balls, but for the price the hyroad seems just right...
dont u need a weight hole with this layout or does it depend on top weight of ball before drilling? j/w i just got a hy-road for my birthday and i got pin up in between fingers cg kicked out a little and a weight hole punched in my pap small one tho u throw awesome tho great form and release. ive only been bowling since last december but hold a 170 avg .
The static weights don't require this ball to have a weight hole. Had I moved the pin closer to PAP and the angle the same then I would have needed one.

igetamercedes 1 year ago
@igetamercedes It used to be right around 500, but I have since been working on matching my speed and revs a bit better and it is now about 420.

good info, how many pounds is your ball?....and its that a slug your using for your thumb hole?
trailertrash20010 2 years ago
i use 15 lbs. as it says in the video. And I also use the Switch Grip thumb, so I can alternate sleeves when one gets to be too small or too big.
